- “Maybe he won’t survive.” Meet Dinesh, 32 years old, head of business growth at airasia Super App. Today he shares his story of overcoming a near-fatal accident 12 years ago which left him paralysed from the chest-down. When he regained consciousness after many weeks, he remembered lying on the bed, barely alive, and the doctors and nurses told him, “You’ll be bedridden for life.”. Through all the tubes and drugs, he answered, ‘I’ll find a way to do it. It’s fine.’
Verdict after verdict: ‘You’ll never able to walk again’, ‘You’ll only be in a wheelchair for life’, but to that, Dinesh’s answer was: “Yet, here I am”. He was able to prove them all wrong. It has been a long and difficult journey - it took him 2 days to even sit up 5 degrees, and nearly 2 years to use a walking frame. Today, he is able to lead a independent life, walk (very slowly!) with a frame, and build his career. His goal? To be a CEO one day.
