To make space in your drawers maybe you could create one drawer for products you don’t use but keep for reference? That way more space for new product you might actually love to reach for on the regular! I loved the long declutter!

However, as someone who has had to move every 2 years for the last 10, I think you will be re-evaluating your collection once you start to prepare the move. For the first couple of moves I remember being overwhelmed about how much s*it I had, and by the 2nd move I started declutering.

As a fellow makeup hoarder, I was really impressed with this declutter! Every time I do one myself, I feel really proud of myself because THE STRUGGLE OF GETTING RID OF OUR BELOVED MAKEUP IS REAL.
My sister said I had a good tip, some potions and lotions she had broke her out with and or, expired, I said rather than throwing the sometimes expensive products, use on back of hands, neck and declotte (never could spell that!) and it worked for her as it does me.......moisturised and no adverse effects 👍
I do that too! The Kiehls ultra facial cream for some reason always stings my face, especially during this cold winter so I resort to applying it on my neck instead and I have no issues. It’s nice because I’m moisturizing other parts of my body rather than focusing only on my facial skincare.

Ha, I still have that too faced chocolate soleil bronzer in the older packaging, lol! Mine still smells good and still performs well. It lasts forever even though it’s been my most used matte bronzer since 2016! But it still seems good so I’m still keeping it, lol

Oooo this makes me want to do this to my collection. I've definitely majorly cut back how much makeup I buy. I basically repurchase mascara, any Adept Cosmetics palette that launches, repurchase lipglosses& balms, and other than that I buy way too much skincare, and the random makeup item that sparks my interest, which is pretty rare lately. I used to buy way too much makeup every month and now I have two dressers full of makeup..and I use eyeshadow& mascara daily, but I rarely use skin products anymore so most of it is just sitting there going bad. I did a big clean out back in May before I went back home and I brought one of my friends a huge bag of makeup 🤣🤣 but I haven't decluttered at all since then.🤔🤔🤔

The shade ‘scandalous’ is gorgeous much better than the shade ‘Freedom’ for the Nars air matte blushes! (I have both🤦🏻♀️). Also, When you re-purchase the milk make up bronzer stick, smell it as soon as you open it up because it smells like crayons right off the bat. I threw my big one out after six months thinking it smell like crayons and it was bad but then when I got a new mini I opened it up and it smelled the same way. 🤷🏻♀️
You need a trash talk & reference drawers for the items you do not use for application. Fyi: Makeup Revolution XX has a fantastic cream bronzer $15. I have the shade Candid. If you like the ABH. You'll prob like them, cuz they're close dupes. You have to buy from Beauty Bay or direct from the website. They often go on sale. The pkging feels pretty luxe for a drug store brand.
Just curious, I keep tabs on my makeup day after opening expiry using an app, but am wondering what smell you are looking for when judging wether something is expired?
I have found for some liquid lips and glosses they start to smell very chemically, if that’s a word lol. If they originally had a pleasant scent and now they don’t I trash them
I just think people don't realise how full coverage the jouer foundation is...I'm a makeup artist and use the tinest amount and it can look so beautiful. The fact that there is so little in the should be a sign that you need so much less. I see people squirting like 2 pumps on their hand and then say its too cakey 🤣

She mostly said as she went along. Things that were very old/expired she threw away. Some items went into her professional kit if they just weren’t right for her colouring. Others were to be given away to someone else who might enjoy it more.
I luckily decluttered my makeup in tgw spring but I also don't review makeup for a living and I only hold onto a few of each category and won't buy it unless I absolutely need it

The milk makeup bronzer smells like a crayon when you buy it too so I wonder how I’m gonna be able to tell it’s off if it’s always been stinking
