Man this made me tear up ngl.. it’s crazy growing up with this guy as my idol you want to tell him personally that you appreciated all he did for the franchise but then you remember you’re just another fan.. Just want him to know that a lot of us (Blazer fans) understand and genuinely wish nothin but the best for him.. Dame will always be my favorite player not just because of his game but who he is as a person as well ❤

It's bigger than basketball. He's going for that ring in Milwaukee, but Dame will always be part of Portland, part of the community and part of the team. And he's right to his word, he's leaving the team better off than when he arrived. My only hope is that after he gets his ring, he can come back and retire as a Blazer. Thanks for everything Dame!

Even after seeing all the posts and videos of him being in a different city & uniform, I'm still trying to process everything and don't think this is real but I know it is actually happening. This is going to be a tough one and I'm not sure how I am going to react to when he is not on the court in the Moda Center for the season opener. Dame, you created a lifetime of memories here in PDX, on and off the court. I hope you know that if you ever do return to Rip City, there will be a lot of people, including myself, welcoming you back home. Knicks fan here but the Blazers have been my second favorite team because of Dame and the amazing Portland fan base. It's a doggone shame it got to this point. I wish he had been able to play with the Blazers for his entire career but I 100% get why he asked out (ahem, was pushed out). Shame. He and the Portland faithful deserved better. Overall, amazing career. Memories that will live on in Blazers lore. Respect.

When he was drafted, I had big doubts coming out of Webber St., but boy were any doubts put to rest immediately as Dame had the "it" factor from day 1.
A class act, a true franchise player who's elite leadership is extremely rare in today's sports world.
I am so happy Dame will get an amazing opportunity to fulfill his dreams of winning a title.
I'm very excited for the Blazers as well as they transition from the Dame, CJ, Nurk Era to a future that looks very bright with so much talent and potential in their new young core.

Dame said he would stay and play as long as it took to GET TRADED TO MIAMI. Quit pretending he was trying to re commit to Portland. He wasn't.
