Thank you very much for these, I really appreciate your openness. Lots of respect and thanks. Help bring a bit of confidence back. I'm just starting out with my first feature and have been doing lots of research into distribution. It's a lot to take on, with a lot of new skills and there is a lot of negative stories about the process. So thank you, your videos help me keep going. Thanks again.
no problem.... Yeah, the problem I find with filmmakers and distribution is filmmakers are almost as relunctant as distributors to share actual #'s and facts. I try to be as transparent as possble with everything... of course sometimes I have producing partners that don't like certain info being shared, so I don't. But I share what I can. Let me know when you finish your movie. I'll do what I can to help promote.
@@JHorton Thanks, really appreciate it. In every regard. I've been trying to document my distribution process and be as transparent as possible too. So, it's great to see filmmakers working together to design a landscape that allows independent content to be made, and the makers able to live off of the creations.
I've been told that reaching over 100 user reviews in your first 90 days is essential to jump starting your movie in Amazon's Algorythm. Don't know if that's true, but Don't Call Me Bigfoot is at 91 reviews and is a few days from 90. If you've seen it and haven't left a review, please do. www.amazon.com/Dont-Call-Bigfoot-Matthew-Mordovanec/dp/B0862HXT78
I get on other platforms through filmhub or a distributor. But I still make more on amazon. My last 4 titles are earning between 1,000 and 3500 a month there.
Wow dude this video is fantastic. Congrats on your numbers. I love how you totally reverse engineered your film. Starting with your audience and making a film for them. This really stellar content. Definitely taking notes. Soo did you manage to break even like the cost of your production and marketing versus how much you made from Amazon? I hope you do and even make way more.
Thanks! Yes, in this particular case, my production costs were very low. I own all the gear and shot and edited myself. I was into profits after the first month. And I spend very little on marketing... just time. But I do funnel some of the profits back into future marketing or productions. The trick it to keep creating. Keep putting new stuff out.
the pay by the hour. 2 million minutes divided by 60 (to get the hours) x .06... somewhere around 2k a week. Unfortunately that title ended up with a CER of 43 percent. Ended up with less than 2k total for the month. Kills me!
@@shadowplayfilms7963 thank you very much. I've been fortunate this past year. My last four projects are earning between 1000 and 3500 a month on amazon. Then I do other platforms as well.

Good, solid advice!
Great tips, but how did you get it on to a platform that makes you money?

Dang this is good advice. You definitely earned a subscriber
thank you!
Fantastic videos. You should get more subscribers based on the content alone. I appreciate you giving out your tips and experiences.
Do you have a manual of how to advertise that we can follow.
I am putting something like that together. The pieces of it will all be in videos. But it'll be in one place written on either my website or patreon.
J. Horton thanks
how much money does that amount to? If they pay six cents an hour.

lucky it got on some other platforms.
@@JHorton hey, that's better than most full-on do it yourself filmmakers, very impressive, I'd be more than happy with that.

@@JHorton holy shit man, that's amazing, you gonna be the Joe Rogan of cinema.
