    The other reason for coming up through the bottom is to allow your wrist to do most of the work. Properly adjusted, your fingers aren't tightly wrapped around the grip and the strap and wrist do most of the work. It also allows you to quickly adjust your grip on the fly for ascents or descents, e.g. palming the top of the grip on a steep downhill.

    I use the black diamond z poles but those look good as well. Looks like a combo of the flick lock and the z design. Thanks for the complete review. Really good price for what you get I think.

      I totally agree. I've used many BD poles over the years, and these rival the BD poles. I think the BD poles are a little higher quality in the aluminum and the flick lock, but these Paria poles are impressive!

    i have broken a 150 and a 50 pair, so as for being a budget item i have a set i think they will do well for me and if they were to break im only out a small amount of $$$ personally i like the foam over rubber and cork handles
