This video triggered the subscription of another happy youtuber! Damn that model looks cool, to date it is the largest posable gundam model ever created by Bandai.
Fascinating the bit where you have made the joint sandwich! Build videos are a lot of work, but it's an strange mental condition from which I suffer where enjoyment is derived from watching back something which took me time to choreograph and assemble.
good to see a new video from you. That tool it comes with for taking the pieces off the tree looks like those things for taking ticks off of cats and dogs
Welcome back Wizartar. I'm glad to see you return but your review lacked that Wizartar spunk that I've come to enjoy in your videos. Also I would have loved to see this beast next to a Macross figure for scale.
Thanks! I don't know how you do it, it's a lot of work making a build video. My hat is off to you sir! I'm not sure if I cut more plastic or film making this! XD
I really like the dvd style menus you did for this and the red frame 2old4toys co-op. very slick. Damn you for being to videographically inventive. Also, am i the only one that finds the long periods of silence in this and 2old4toys videos oddly hypnotic.....wuhh? give you my pin numburrr? why suurRrRrrreEeEe.....
Thank you for this tip. I bought this model at Gundam Front in Odaiba on holiday and didn't know if I should paint it or not. I make cars and rockets, but infrequently. I want it to look nice without going overboard.
Very neat how you put the 2 runners together with the poly caps inside for the legs. It reminds me of what was shown of the RG RX-78 with their "advanced" runner system... put 2 runners together... can't get more advanced than that! And what happen to the little guys arms? Did all the other ones gang up on him and tortured him? I don't this kit is worth the money, if it had light up eyes like you said than yes I would pay 7800 yen...
Wizartar, you are my hero! xD This video was awesome! Loved it! It looks like a pretty nice kit too! A little better than I would have assumed. I can think of a number of nice little details I could add to this kit, inspired by the 1/1 version, of course... :3
yeah I'm with lamm3rrr welcome back and I hope your right hand is ok there. as for the model, it looks cool but I'd love to get one that size with twice the detail of a perfect grade.
Buttery smooth video. Loved the unique head build and the v piece in the crotch (and anything that is not seen in the 1/144 HG 30th Ani version) . Had no intention of getting this till I'd watched your review. Curse you! Do they sell oversized Gundam markers now?
WOW This is amazing. I've been wanting to get into a hobby of collecting and building these. Maybe even the detailing and advanced stuff to. Is there any informative and educating forum or wiki on the terminologies and where to start in this hobby for beginners? Thanks again, Wizartar.
Great to have you back Sir, I really enjoyed the video. Given the cost of the kit I was a little disappointed to see Bandai cut corners with the cavities and lack of clear plastic. IMO the perfect grade is the best rendition of the RX78-2. I know the MG 2.0 is very popular but I've never really liked it anime inspired looks. What are you thoughts on the "Real Grade" 1/144 RX78-2 which was announced today by Bandai, it looks like they are trying to blur the line between HG and MG.
Great review and build video, sir. This version of the RX-78-2 is definitely interesting and I think a very good item for diehard RX-78-2 fans. I don't think the price is that bad for what you get and while I do prefer more articulation in a Gundam model, this is a kit meant more as a novelty piece and perhaps, as you pointed out, geared towards the younger Gunpla crowd.
I really like the colors that this box show off. Its basicly an over size high grade kit and thats not a bad thing. Thanks is niffity little tool it come with yet I don't see it being used on other kits so yes the clippers is your best bet. Wow that is a really big kit, make that PG look like punk! yet I agree the PG has more quality parts and gimmicks then the MS kit. Good review as always!
Sir bow before your editig skillz and fantastic build lol panel line it ya lazy sob! ^^ Not good to hear ya overworked, hope you and 2Old4Toys can finally dish out part 3 from Red Frame review, yes still waiting patiently or rather impatiently. Might I ask where you got it and what the overall inclusive shipping cost was?
Hey there I noticed you said something about the PG 00 Raiser and how it wasn't good. Could you tell me why as I simply love it as my first PG. Either that or the other Pgs are simply groundbreakingly more awesome. A reply is much appreciated on your thoughts
@jiidee I agree, the height has been disproportionately added to the legs. It's something Bandai are doing more and more with their suit, long legs tiny chests. Says a lot about the designer's tastes ;)
i get why the silent build was done for this one since 2old4toys obsession with the rx-78-2 XD but lookin at this mega size the color separation on it is actually quite good. might need to hunt one of these down since i already have the char zaku 2 as well as the unicorn mega sizes.
I was considering getting my first Gundam model and wanted an RX-78-2, but I'm not sure which one I want to start with. Do you have any recommendations?
@theMilkproduct It is an easy to build model mate. So for a first time kit it is a good place to start, but the price. If I were you I would go to Hobby Link Japan and have a look at their gundams. They give you a level guide regarding difficulty so as a first timer, you will not get caught out. My first Gundam was the 1/100 Wing 0 (Endless Waltz version). Great model, looks cool and was a good learning curve. Mind you, I picked it cause it just looks great. Hope this helps.
i was hoping for a build n review on this n then i woke up turned on youtube n here it goes. It helped a lot i'm certainly getting the 2.0 mg now instead.
@GundamGuns Saw that, those extra finishes aren't for me. You need to shop around, it can be picked up for about 25% off at Amiami, assuming they have any stock left
Yeah it looks like a big brick. But painting/detailing and pannel lining this kit could be fun. But it's real selling point is indeed his hight... Not too imprissed by this kit but I guess it still can be fun.
I wish they made these new 1/48 scale kits for the more elaborate-looking transforming mobile suits, but since the kit they debuted with seems very simple in terms of build, then the sign will eventually points towards a "no".
LoL, just what everybody wants to see, 20 minutes of panel lining! XD Red Frame part 3 is being worked on, 2old4toys, a Special Guest and myself are putting a lot of effort in to it. This time HLJ, as I pre-ordered. Shipping was crazy! That's all I'm going to say. But if you're interested checkout Amiami as they've a 50% off EMS at the moment! While HLJ only have a 20%. Plus Amiami are great for discounts... but never have enough stock! :(
@shigerumiyamoto1 There's actually a lot of videos here on RUclips about "Gunpla". 'Gunpla' comes from GUNdam PLAstic. if you search for something like 'gunpla tutorial' you'll find some good ones to get you going. Another topic is also "Plamo" PLAstic MOdel, for things non-Gundam related.
@jondeak Well checkout Amiami or HLJ for the price... it's certainly not cheap. But shipping is the real killer on this one. Height is 37.5 CM or about 14.76 inches to the head; and about 17" if you include the shield on his back
No, it looks good out of the box, but if you're willing to panel line it, it can look really nice without any paint all you need is a pencil or grey pen.
I want this kit because it is still decent at all and that's slim RX 78-2 I feel like wanted to since ver.3.0 ran out of stock. Nor feels a bit disappointed even if just the hand parts, not at least as similar with High Grade somehow
I slowed his voice down to 0.25 because I could not hear what he said at the end when he said this is wizartar saying and then he said something like saunter
@nightslash3535 Not that it wont do justice, I can't see Bandai doing many releases at this scale. The design's are simple and sturdy. Fancy stuff tends to be a little more prone to breakage.
Also, i just saw on Ngee that they are coming out with a Titanium Finish and a Gold Plated mega scale RX-78.... I am sure the price will be...Ridiculous!
@peetswee Thats similar to considering a remote controlled toy car a MODEL. Im pointing out the R/C bit, you can obviously have model cars. Jeebs otherwise you could mention the 1/35 jumbo grade MSs in the same light =_=
RX-78. What a beauty. Amazing how it can balance even on one foot.

I noticed watching this while listening to Ai Senshi (Soldier of Sorrow) just makes everything in the universe seem right.
That was amazing and soothing as well.I want one!
Man they had such an amazing opportunity to have an LED in that kit especially with the clear eyes.
YEY Wiz is back =D
Welcome back and I hope you have been well =)
I missed your reviews while you were gone. ):
Awesome video.
:D
Finally you are back!!!
Buttery smooth video. Loved the unique head build and the v piece in the crotch (and anything that is not seen in the 1/144 HG 30th Ani version) . Had no intention of getting this till I'd watched your review. Curse you! Do they sell oversized Gundam markers now?

awesome !!!! i want one so bad and nice review
BTW where did you get the kit from??
Great review and build video, sir.

I don't think the price is that bad for what you get and while I do prefer more articulation in a Gundam model, this is a kit meant more as a novelty piece and perhaps, as you pointed out, geared towards the younger Gunpla crowd.
@gundamfan021 The size is written on the box... 37.5cm (a little under 15 inches)
I really like the colors that this box show off. Its basicly an over size high grade kit and thats not a bad thing. the last shot of the 4... awesome and funny at the same time... side note.. what kind of camera do you use for the videos?
@Wizartar That's why I'd expect larger sizes to fix it.
Hey there I noticed you said something about the PG 00 Raiser and how it wasn't good. Could you tell me why as I simply love it as my first PG. Either that or the other Pgs are simply groundbreakingly more awesome. A reply is much appreciated on your thoughts
I see what you mean. Ill check those out thanks for the heads up
@darkhero101010 It's an "A3 Cutting mat"
i want to see the build review of this,i hope 2old4toys will do it............ like usual
@jl931 thje lagest poseble gundam ever made by bandai is HY2M, the Mega Size is 37.5 cm the HY2M is 75cm
Entertainingly funny. lol. Whatever happened to the PG Astray vid with 2OldForToys?
thanks for the video, I was debating on whether to get this, mainly because of the scale, or the PG.
Think I'll go for the PG.
@jiidee I agree, the height has been disproportionately added to the legs. It's something Bandai are doing more and more with their suit, long legs tiny chests. Says a lot about the designer's tastes ;)
this looks quite fun to do! are the instructions easy to follow despite been in japanese?
i get why the silent build was done for this one since 2old4toys obsession with the rx-78-2 XD
but lookin at this mega size the color separation on it is actually quite good. might need to hunt one of these down since i already have the char zaku 2 as well as the unicorn mega sizes.
I was considering getting my first Gundam model and wanted an RX-78-2, but I'm not sure which one I want to start with. Do you have any recommendations?
one question , how is the green base you built on called , looks handy to have
you are the fastest gundam builder:)
This looks easy to make.
Seems good I want to buy one
@theMilkproduct

@Ereos It sure is
@digioverlord depends on the kit, but this one is nice and easy
@Blake99xboxlive The price is Japanese Yen, so it's about 100 bucks
@theMilkproduct Yes
snap kits look to me like a giant kinder surprise..cool anyway. It makes it affordable also to those that are not serious modelers
@Wizartar It's actually arouns $85.
@TheTraveler12 a Canon VIXIA HF100
@Wizartar thanks a lot sir
There are some new 30th anniversary PGs
This is like A High grade gunpla but for King Kong
I think HG is better
Yea cheap price and great articulations for HG
@@facebookgaming7234 yes i agree with u. 😁
And more space to save more gunpla
i wonder if they made a 1/60 PG dendriobium how big it will be lol... and the cost
nice review. seems like they skipped out on a few things didn't they.
@sdgundamexia It varies check around: Amiami or HLJ
I wish they made these new 1/48 scale kits for the more elaborate-looking transforming mobile suits, but since the kit they debuted with seems very simple in terms of build, then the sign will eventually points towards a "no".
@jellybeans711 No, hollow like a 1/144 scale model.
LoL, just what everybody wants to see, 20 minutes of panel lining! XD

Great vid, thanks for the info!!!!
@theMilkproduct It's price for a first kit, but it would be a good one.
@Wizartar So that means that this new Gunpla line won't do justice over elaborate transforming mobile suits.
Did you buy this off Hobby Link Japan?
@Wizartar Thank you very much for the quick answer lol I cerainly did not mean20 minutes of panel lining just the result ^^
@wizartar on a RX-78-2 1/144 do u have to paint it
@shigerumiyamoto1 There's actually a lot of videos here on RUclips about "Gunpla".

How tall is this kit? I know that the perfect grades are around a foot tall. (Obviously taler than a foot.)
This is huge and a huge difference between pg's
Fully articulated fingers would be nice
how much did it cost?
i wish the clear eyes were included in rg
0:25 The Mega Size RX-78-2 Gundam cost 7800 yen?
Seems appropriate.
@nightslash3535 Don't see this line doing anything complex, it mostly just unscaled 1/144 kits.
@itachi0314 Yes
Sweet Baby Jezus, have you seen bgmin95's 1/48!!!
i know this is a really ridiculous question, but how many parts have this kit ? xDD
@itachi0314 Still to be detailed and built
thats mall in cilandak town square citos
@ABCba5tard Normal retail price is 7,800 yen, can't remember what I paid. Got a discount on it.
I want this kit because it is still decent at all and that's slim RX 78-2 I feel like wanted to since ver.3.0 ran out of stock. Nor feels a bit disappointed even if just the hand parts, not at least as similar with High Grade somehow

could you speak? and could you show it next to a vf-1 yamato 48 scale? awsome figure
i swear i saw one of these had the bazooka
Where is your High Grade RX-78-2's arms? o.o
bellissimo modello gigante. semplice da montare.
you know... i like big size they look like easy to assemble...
@nightslash3535 Not that it wont do justice, I can't see Bandai doing many releases at this scale. The design's are simple and sturdy. Fancy stuff tends to be a little more prone to breakage.

It seems like a giant high grade gundam too me.
@tc012009 Still very early days, but it looks interesting.
I wish there was a frame.. but then this would be alot more XD
