More info: Igor Presnyakov studied classical music at a nearby academy and would eventually graduate as both a guitarist and a conductor for ensembles. His unique acoustic guitar-style is influenced by various musical genres from Reggae, Rock and Roll, R&B, Country-western, Jazz and Heavy Metal. Igor also rarely sings any of the lyrics to any kind of song that he covers, and instead skillfully translates them into a guitar melody, having his instrument sing the words.

Most beautiful anthem in the world. Rich history, and the strongest hearts to ever beat. Throughout the history of the world, I have never seen such unwavering commitment to ones country as the Russian people. I wish we had so much love and adoration in my country, but the U.S. isn't like it used to be. I still admire and appreciate the sacrifices made by my countrymen on the alter of freedom, but that word doesn't carry the meaning it used to. @@HANIMEME Anna Hanham nowhere is perfect. My country rapes it's people of hopes and dreams. I suppose the truth these songs were written about have been lost in the current state of things. We still have the music, and that still gives me hope. John F. Kennedy and Valery Legasov are the only non- musician heroes in my mind. Kennedy died for his attempts to change the heart of a frightened nation, Legasov died because of a flawed bureaucratic system that he believed in with all of his Soviet heart. I'd just like to find something real today that is worth dying for.

@@virgianas157 No and I'm sorry but I don't see how it could be seen as such. If I'm hearing this song it usually means Canada just lost. Then they play a bold orchestral version of the Russian anthem that probably sounds beautiful to Russian people but to me has always sounded kind of military/empire-y. When I first heard Igor's version, I just heard a beautiful melody being played by, I assume, a patriotic Russian who loves the song very much. Thanks though you reminded me about this video and now I get to listen to it again.

Always good to hear from Mr. Presnykov and his distinctive styles one of the true world class great guitarists of our time and we live in a time of legions of excellent pickers when you are at his level of musical sensibility that terms such as better and best have long since lost their meaning if not their relevance when it comes to the cathartic experience of music
No longer a struggle or burden but rather a joy and privilege
And my truest experience of music I find that all the the immense amount of discipline of drilling scales and chords and arpeggiation etc ultimately down the line now that I finally become fluent in a lot of this that I truly lose track of the scales and chords and more or less have combined my sense of where I'm playing with the inner voicing of my heart and soul and no longer concern myself whether or not I strictly adhere to any one modality but rather prefer to blend the modes and sort of bop around by order of half step whole step or step and a half etc. And actually in my deepest highest musical moments transcend the notion of being bound whatsoever and revert to a form of what I refer to as
"Semi-chromatics" ergo the multitudinous scales we all know and love I just love when my subconscious takes over like a trance and the hung up part of me completely stands down
