@@FrazierPianoStudio it’s so helpful for trying to learn different voicings. I’ve been really drilling rootless voicings in all keys with a lower limit that creates weird invasions sometimes. Targeting the guide tone movement throughout the progression is such a good way to look at it.

Yes you are right. For a typical 2-5-1 you have a minor 7th, dominant 7th, and the major 7th. The key is to keep track of the 3rds and 7ths of those respective chords as you move between them.

Are you ever thinking of minor 3rd and minor 7th? I guess you are if you are on those chords in the key (2nd, 3rd, 6th, etc.), right?
