I couldn't say which of his songs it is, but partway through made me think of Brubeck's "Unsquare Dance" & "Blue Rondo a la Turk" mixed together and turned sideways, lol. Was that one with Coleman Hawkins? Whatever it was, it was a huge pleasure to hear! Great work by you both - thanks!
Why don't you give your friend John Batiste a call and book a from-home gig on Stephen Colbert. Also down the road I look forward to seeing you on SNL. You're way ready for prime time.
I sometimes see Grace playing and I could frankly do without the gesticulating and flailing, Coupled with some of her more mainstream stuff, it can be off-putting. Then you hear her play tracks like this and much is forgiven.
Music that is ALIVE! Love it, great stuff.
