Wow. In truth i had forgotten how it first used to look like with the original doorways & walls. I'd forgotten how much work went into the floors & walls too. So much work has gone into the stables & it looks really amazing. Your living quarters look clean, functional and comfortable & it must be a relief to have moved out of the apartment/ building site & onto your own land. Speaking of land, I'd also forgotten how much work you both put into clearing it: its phenomenal how quickly nature reclaims it again isn't it?
I thoroughly enjoyed the recap. Thank you for posting 😊

I had forgotten about all the heavy demolition work that had to be done! As well as all the vines, brambles and general overgrowth-but it looks like the soil is very rich, so if you have gardening plans, you should do well! I do love the intricate design of the Villa, the decorative patterns inside and out. It seems like someone may have been inspired by ancient Crete when I look at the exterior. You have done a great job so far, and I look forward to the rest! Keep going, good luck!

An incredible journey with precious memories made and a massive learning curve overcome. You both must have so much more confidence when it comes to the restoration of the villa itself, especially the major achievement of the roof and wall works. Of course the question that everybody is unwilling to ask is will it be year 2 or year 3 that you will get the delivery of the remaining parts of the glass wall to finally make the stables wind and water tight. You must both feel so much an improvement in quality of life having the ability to reside on site and not need to organise rentals and the associated travelling. We are all so honoured to be able to enjoy the journey with you.

Very nice timelapse. I do have one question though. You placed a bathroom below the stairs, which is neat in my opinion. How do you get the moisture out of this space after a shower? Maybe i missed the part of you installting ventilation. Furthermore i would like to comment on my fellow german comments. They seam to be very rude. One possible reason might be, that building codes are strict in Germany and that we tend to believe that our codes are binding everywhere.

Haha don't worry about it, I think most rude comments are because people misunderstand or base whatever they think based upon having seen just that one video. Building codes are different everywhere and in Italy it's even different depending on regions.
The bathroom underneat the staircase has an automatic ventilation fan, it's not yet installed though so it's just a hole in the wall at the moment so we are ventilating the bathroom manually by keeping the door open at the moment, but eventually we will install the fan.
      Thank you for watching!

It's a membrane so that I get an air channel between the bricks and the insulation in case there would be any damp issues.

Even an old building like this cannot escape plastic windows. What a shame.

In the stable no, we want to do a more industrial feel from the outside so wooden windows wouldn't have been the same. For the villa we have ordered wooden windows.

pretty impressiv. But why no daylight (window) in the bathroom? you are shareing the same outside wall like the kitchen if i saw it right.

      Thank you!
It's basically just going to be a spare toilet in the future and we do not want to alter the externals of the stables changed just for a bathroom window. It just would not make sense to have a window there so that people in the garden can see whoever is in the toilet.

@@VillaAroldi i got the point. for my own taste i would build one in if it's possible. you need something for the air exchanging to prevent mod anyway. so why not bringing light inside as well? make it more comfortable. A windows don't have to be big or in the middle of the wall, if you care about for beeing seen from outside.

No it's really not a big deal for us, I guess it's also what you are used to I guess. I really don't have a problem with a bathroom without any natural light, as for the humidity in there we have an extractor fan so that should'nt be an issue. @@NebucadLaVey
