What a great tone for a "student guitar"!
Great soloing. KILLER tone! iReal strikes again!
Thanks Allan
Wonderful - precise, articulate and so tasteful
exactly
Thank you you! My new trio record came out last week: chriswhiteman.hearnow.com/
Mais, d'où vient cette sonorité unique et incroyable ? C'est beau tout simplement, sans fioriture ! c'est de l'art !
Very kind, thank you!
So in the pocket! I keep revisiting this because it's just so tasty.
Thank you!
One of the Greatest of all time. Always the most perfect, relaxing, musical solos and chord work.
Thank you Al!

Would love to see more videos of you playing tunes like this with the back track. You can hear your playing crispy clean, I love listening to you're melody and solo approaches. Your lines are so tasteful and melodic , great stuff in there!
Thanks Brandon
New record out now: chriswhiteman.hearnow.com
So tasteful and swinging!
Thank you 🙏🏻
Your soloing brings peace to my soul Chris
Thank you. Peace is very valuable to me!
Very nice. Most of the stuff I've seen of yours has been chord melody (which I love), so it was kind of cool to see a single note piece. I guess I need to take a trip down the RUclips rabbit hole and see what other older gems there are.
Glad you liked it!
I like it,the Stil is beautiful
Thank you! Luise!
Wooooo this a GREAT MASTER 😮❤

Always loved Jim Hall’s version from the Concierto record. Nicely done! 👌🏻🕶✌🏻
Me Too! Love that album. Thanks!
Outstanding tone and fantastic playing. Very very lovely!
Thank you Joe!
muy bueno chris!!!
Thanks Ariel
Chris I just wish it was twice as long( you have more to say in my opinion)I like how you play up the neck rather than first position. First time I have heard you use IRealPro. ( quite effectively) . Jim Hall does it in G minor too. Chet Baker does it in G minor and A minor. I have to listen to your performances several times they are so awesome. Thanks for your exemplary arrangements from my favorite guitarist. Very inspiring.
Beautiful. Great tone and conception. Reminiscent of my favorite version of this, by Jim Hall.
Thanks Neil. Jim Hall's version on Concierto is where I first learned this song. One of my favorite players!
excellent
Thanks Ryan
Muito Bom, AMEI.
🔥 гениально
Thank you!
Great job! Great tune! I like the snappy tempo. I had a chance back in the mid 70's to buy a Gibson ES-125 exactly like that in amazing condition with case for $100. I was a dumb teenage kid into rock, thought is was corny looking and bought a shiny new $69 Silvertone instead. LMAO! As an adult Jazz fan, now I think back and hate myself for not buying it. I am sure all us guitar players have millions of stories just like mine.
Thank you. And yes, I wish I could go back in time and make some different guitar decisions!
I will try to play it like you...
One person isn't nice to come home to
very nice soloing, please publish tabs and scores for learning it!
Please do a solo version.
Effortless and smooth
Thank you!
Bravo, Chris! The best solo lines ever heard on this tune!! And I wonder what kind of strings and pick do you use on this one?
Thanks Taehee. Fender medium 347 pick, thomastik Infeld .012 flatwounds
Thanks for your answer. I'm surprised at that you were using medium 347. I thought that you were playing with a heavy pick at least more than 2mm thick..
I get better control and feeling of the strings with a medium pick. Thicker is too heavy for me and feels disconnected from the strings
"feels disconnected from the strings" This is a new point for me. I've been always using heavy picks when playing archtops and flatwounds.. Maybe it was a fixed idea.. I'll try a medium one right away. Thanks!
Cool what strings are you using, ? Very cool music taste btw
Thank you! D'Addario EXL115 XL Nickel Wound Electric Guitar Strings . I bump the e&b up to a .013&.015
Can you teach me how to solo like this? I would gladly pay!
I do teach skype lessons. www.chriswhitemanmusic.com/skype-lessons-1
What guitar is that?
Sounds good!
Thanks, It is a 1954 Gibson ES-125
Do you usually use roundwound or flatwound strings? Thank you
Round wound usually, but I am always changing things around
Great! What cabinet are you using?
Thank you. It is a cabinet I built and the speaker is an Eminence Cannabis Rex Patriot Series 12" 50-Watt
thnak you for your replay. have a good music
Hey, just wanted yo ask. How do you record your guitar and have the backing track alongside it?
I do it in Logic. Import the backing track wave file and then record live to the backing track.
I want to ask you how do you practice the guitar?
Thank you for your question. The subject of how to practice the guitar is so vast, that it is difficult to answer. It would require writing a book! The most important things for me have been fundamentals of music.
So how do you practice the music foundation? I'm now practicing Berkeley
That’s what Bill Evans said, you have to have the fundamental structure of the song to build upon. Your so right Chris.
Jim hall was lento
Yes he was!
