To me, Frank Vignola is a very special guitarist in his own right. I have watched his vid's a 1000 times (and more), but people like Andreas Oberg are...well, he makes it look sooo easy..it just comes so naturally, with ease.
lol i think everybody got the wrong idea cause of their accents lol.im sure they get along and enjoyed making these video lessons for truefire.getting together to jam with new people is always fun:).wat you gotta realise is hes from sweden and if you watch any other videos where hes talking english he always sounds like that.and plus ive met frank vinola and hes a pretty nice guy lol
Beautiful work. You can see even more incredible guitar work with guys like Jimmy Rosenberg and his entire family. At 8 years old, some of these guys learn to play like this.
I watch guitar players on You Tube all the time and all of the thousands of shredders out there. What the shredders are doing is amazing and took years of practice but I almost always think to myself, yes it is incredible playing but musically, I don't want to listen to it, it doesn't bring any emotion for me. This, is my opinion is every bit as challenging to play and brings so much emotion and I love to listen to it. Obviously music is different for everyone, but that is my opinion. This is incredible and so was Django!
With all due respect to our European Brothers, it seems like when they play an 'American' composition they forget that the pocket is what makes it jazz. When the playing gets too busy the room for air is diminished. In other words, you can only stuff so much in before it spills out all over the place and you're left with near cacophony.Mr Oberg is a great musician and given the opportunity to mature he will be as influential as a Frank Vignola.
I guess am the only one who finds this version awful. Sounds stressed, rhythm playing is to busy at all times, timing is strange and ending was spoiled by Mr Oberg. And the video quality is too low incapable of recording all movements clearly.
That's European Jazz, that's Jazz Manouche, and there's plenty of American Jazz that's bee cacophonic, and that's on authority of Miles Davis. Django put his stamp on it, the only European to do so, and that's how it is, this is one of the best examples of Oberg's creativity I've seen, and I do try keep up, just trying to be fair
Maybe moreso because Vignola isn't particularly known for being a fiery Gypsy Jazzer, and Oberg's name didn't show up in the search until you hit the video...
One of the greatest renditions of this tune ever recorded
How have i not heard of Andreas Oberg?! Amazing player..

If this was performed before a live audience they would have torn the house down. Amazing!
These guys are amazing
God you guys absolutely killed this
i don´t understand how they can play stuff like this without non stop smiling haha
Well done! I have Frank’s TrueFire jazz lessons but this is the first time I get to see him as a world class musician. Wow! Well done!

One of the greatest performances of all time

Its always interesting to see one good looking, talented musician play with the coach of "The Little Giants"
Oh my god.
Django would love this...
They've been practising. No fair!

I caught myself thinking: what in the world would Bach or Mozart say about this?
lol what a silly question :D
Captures the sound of the Hot Club de France on just two instruments.
Vcs dois tocam mt lundooooAplausos
True fire!:)
Very likable! :)
Bach or Mozart
thanks for keeping the flame alive
Django would have loved these guys along with Stephen.
NIce !
Two contrasting styles here. Both great. Vignola a bit more restrained, and very melodic. Oberg more lick-ish, but still impressive.
Amazing! I have just posted my arrangement for 2 guitars on my channel...
holy shite!

Yeah, because you are in a position to criticize players who are better than you.

Both soloing together and they made some awesome but strange harmony around 5:44
