I have never used gouache to paint, I paint with watercolors and crayons. But your painting has a classic art style from the last century. The painting is very interesting, it attracts my eyes without taking my eyes off. Thanks for your sharing.
Yes! I think what people don't recognize about gouache is that, while it is a "watercolor" it's actually able to be used more like oils. You can get it to the consistency of heavy cream and apply it in generous strokes. And the layering is quite simple: more water (lean) to no water/from the tube (fat). Maybe it's not as economical to paint with gouache in the way where its high pigmentation/opacity shines (as seen in this video) due to cost, but it's always a really gorgeous, matte result. I seal mine with some cold wax medium now and then. Truly such an underrated medium. You've really pushed it to its limits here. Gorgeous stuff.
There is a wonderfully nice sense of light in this painting; true painterly light. Most artists never achieve this! Having offered this big compliment, now for my critique. I feel that the paint handling and form edges are too loosely handled, and that the painting would benefit from tighter control. I also believe that the sense of depth can be enhanced, such as in the background. But in total, this really is one of the better modern paintings I have seen presented on youtube. Excellent work! [I have a substantial art background which is why I offer such constructive comments]

Es tan hermosa la pintura impresionista…será por que pinto …y….me integro con alma vida y corazón…que pueda…que ese es mi Horror…me creo una pintora…..por lo que pido perdón!…..tuve la. suerte de tener un esposo…tan lleno dé virtudes….tan integro en su honradez profesional y humanamente solidario…que cada instante está con migo…. La vida se lo llevo muy joven 70 años recién cumplidos…y.. en verdad aún no me conformo…quiero decirles a su partida han pasado 18/años …como quiero comunicarles que fui y hoy a mis 82 años sigo siendo ….con sus consecuencias una vieja hermosa… Y lo sigo extrañando cada instante.. Debo aclarar que me dio muchos dolores de cabezas….pero lo amé tanto…que mi Señor me perdone….creo…más que a él…

No es una técnica, es un medium, así como el óleo, acuarela...la técnica es como el artista ejecuta la obra, su manera de hacer....
