    Would the distance change for gaited horses? At the trot

      I haven’t tried pole work with a gaited horse, but I’d say unless they really have a tendency to break into their gait these distances would be fine. Hey it may even help keep the horses from breaking into their gait! Lol.

    can i do this as a western rider with a walking horse?

    • @Ridingwarehouse
      @Ridingwarehouse  11 месяцев назад

      Yes, you certainly can! Gaited horses can do these exercises as long as they are set for either walk, trot, or canter. We do not suggest setting them with the intention of pacing or gaiting. For more information on setting poles, check out our full guide: www.ridingwarehouse.com/lc/training/pole-work-for-horses/how-to-set-ground-poles.html . What poles do you use?

    • @Ridingwarehouse
      @Ridingwarehouse  2 года назад +1

      Hello! Jumping poles/rails or Cavaletti poles work well for ground exercises. Let us know if you have any further questions! ~Katie, RW

      @@Ridingwarehouse do you use pvc or wooden? And where do you get them from regularly? Haha sorry for the amount of questions I’m just building my own jumps and im having troubles with the poles

    • @Ridingwarehouse
      @Ridingwarehouse  2 года назад

      @@all.miight6939 There are already made poles that you can purchase that are made from wood or PVC. We, unfortunately, do not carry these, but other tack stores may! For DIY, wood would probably be the best option since you can customize the material a bit more. We hope that helps! ~Katie, RW
