Jimmy Cross - I Want My Baby Back (with lyrics)

This song was originally released in 1965 and was a minor hit in the US. I don’t know if it was released in the UK, but if it was it never charted. It is a parody of teenage death songs of which were popular in the early sixties e.g. “Leader of the Pack”, which is referenced in the lyrics.
It became well known in the UK in the mid-seventies when DJ Kenny Everett ran the ‘World’s Worst Record’ poll on his radio show which saw this voted in at Number 1. The top 20 were subsequently released on an album in 1978. Jimmy Cross sadly died the same year, a few months later.
