Oh, this video is a capsule of the Adventure Denali esthetic, not to sound too gushing... Calm thoughts in measured cadence, in such a friendly voice that seems to transmit a sense of fun and yet be utterly serious at the same time, how??
And the visuals, objects, framing, lighting.
And the performance art which is your handwriting... Which honestly matches and justifies that lovely pen.

They feel sturdier, but they aren't. Lamy Safaris are made of the same plastic as Legos. :) Anything made of plastic will break, but I've never had a Safari break on me. I have one that's...jeez, 25 years old. Still going strong. TWSBIs have known cracking issues, unfortunately. I hope you don't experience it. I had a Diamond 580 that cracked repeatedly. It was soooo disappointing. I ended up giving it away for parts to someone in my pen club.

@@arguchik Oh that's fascinating! Thanks for sharing! I guess because the TWSBI feels weightier, I associated that with feeling studier. But it makes perfect sense why that isn't necessarily the case.

So they have been my first choice till I moved to AZ, USA. There I discovered TWSBI from Goulet pens and omg. Even their customer service was omg, amazing. And I think I got 5 of them in those 2 years. Loveeeee them. Thanks for your beautiful videos. Your videos got me back into journaling. Your handwriting 😍

I love this video. Agree with your sentiment re a massive library of TWSBI pens with a range of inks. Given you can buy so many more TWSBIs for the price for some premium offerings, it’s achievable. I actually like the aesthetics and whenever I use them in the office, people say “that’s a cool pen.” It’s especially nice because they allow the ink to show off its beauty.

It just gets me so excited to write, I love seeing the ink flow and go down every dozen pages, I simply adore the way it writes and the amount of ink it carries. I use TWSBIs for shimmering and sheening ink. I love the way I can appreciate the hue and shimmer of the ink through the clear acrylic. I’ve had nearly a dozen TWSBIs over a 4 year period and not one of them clogged, dried up, or hard-started. This pen is the favorite by far, in all my collection. Granted, I don't have what I call expensive pens - anything over $150 I would consider expensive. I have several TWSBIs but the minis are my favorite. They are everything you say and more. They always write, right out of the gate. The built in converter protects the ink from drying out. Many of my pens will be empty because the ink dried out before I could get back to it. The ECO model is just as good as the more higher priced models. The nibs are the same. I too have the same dream to have every single one they've made and all inked up! Just one thought about what you said about the aesthetic made me think that it would be like saying you only read pretty books - no matter how crappy the story is - LOL!!

I love the ecos because they write so well (in my collection of 21 pens I have 6 ecos!). The ecos are just such a good price and I'm comfortable taking them with me because they're fairly replaceable. My diamond 580 is also pretty great and it's grown on me. The white RG mini is definitely on my wishlist but it's a bit pricier than I like to spend on TWSBIS. I loved this video and I loved the ink; the colours work really well together!

I can’t believe it’s taken me this long to actually buy a Twisbi, it should arrive on Tuesday, a Vac 700R with fine nib. I bought it from a local buy and sell here in Austria, used just once so basically new for €40 complete with box and accessories.
This is the first pen I have bought in years, my small collection is vintage so it will be interesting not only writing with a new pen but this will also be the first time in nearly forty years since I have written with a steel nib, the last time being a Parker that I wrote with from from junior school right through senior school and college!
After reading much about them and your continuing enthusiasm for them I can’t wait to write with it! Thanks for your many thoughts on them.

PSA for anyone looking for this pen: there are a few pen models that TWSBI does in a Mini size; this model is the *Diamond* Mini, which is the smaller version of the Diamond 580. There’s also a Vac Mini (smaller version of the Vac 700) which gives quite a different writing experience IMO because it’s a much wetter pen than the Diamond/Diamond Mini

I applaud. Of the couple thousands dollars of pens that I've kept to husband over the years, the TWSBI Mini are my favorite, everything about them, aside from their fragility, but then, they're only 50 bucks or so if they break. But if they do, the company makes you whole. Every time. I love my Pelikan 805 modified to stub by John Mottishaw. But the 1.1 TWSBI steel stub, and the pen, are equal. Your presientation is beautifully shot, spoken, penned and written.

I own a lot of TWSBI’s. I own a lot of fountain pens. I’m not bragging, it’s just the nature of the hobby. I have had every model of TWSBI fountain pen, except your favorite, the mini. I have fairly big hands so smaller pens just don’t feel right to me. I generally have at least a couple inked up. They are all exceptional writers. I’ve given away, or traded, quite a few too. It’s always been hard for me to choose a favorite pen, or even brand, but for beginners I always recommend Name brand entry level pens from (in no particular order) TWSBI, Pilot, Sailor, LAMY, and others. It’s hard to beat a GO, ECO, or the Swipe for the money. Especially the Swipe since it gives a few different ways to add the ink. Thanks for your videos. They’re well done. 😊

I have a Diamond 580AL R and I think the balance is perfect for writing, without posting. As you say the mini posted has a perfect balance too.

Love your handwriting!! Does your hand ever get tight or ache when you write? Mine started to in school taking notes & now I’m not sure how to keep it relaxed while writing… any suggestions are welcome!

Thank you! I have had cramps, but only when I’ve written for hours straight. I recommend taking very frequent breaks when writing to do some hand stretches. Our bodies don’t like when we do the same thing over and over for too long.

I am new to fountain pens after 50 years (I have a pen my mom gave me for HS graduation). I keep saying that my Twsbi Classic Mini EF is my favorite writer. Love your content. I have been binge watching. 🤎🤎

This is a beautiful pen. The nib seems quite broad. Is that typical of the EF for this brand?

    • @adventuredenali
      @adventuredenali  Год назад +2

I think in general, the nibs feel a little bit wider? At least that seems to be a reoccurring sentiment with some other folks on here, and something I’ve experienced as well.

Oh my goodness. I am quite thankful for your response. You were quite apt in your utilization of the term "Juicy" to describe the ink-flow of the pen. I thoroughly appreciate the aesthetic contrasts between the white, transparent, and Rose-Gold portions of the pen. I would have never guessed correctly that it was EF...I would have supposed a Medium nib.🖤

I want to love twsbi but my eco mint cracked. I'm now considering 580 diamond but right now can't justify spending $80 for it. Specially when I can put that $80 towards a vintage pen. I did though enjoy twsbi's ink capacity, and wet writer.

I have 6 fountain pens all inked in the different glorious colors I love . . . I want more pens because I want more ink colors. The pens I have are all gold nibs, and I just can't afford any more like them. So I was delighted to see this video highly recommending a more reasonably priced pen. What is TWSBI's nib comparison with a Sailor ? Thanks so much. ~Marilee

I got the 580 version of this rose gold. I think it looks pretty decent. Good writer. The only complain about it is the nib width. I personally prefer the width of a Sailor MF, but a TWSBI normally is just tiny little bit thinker at a level that starts to annoys me.

    • @adventuredenali

Yeah, I get that! That’s why I like the extra fine, but still even that at times isn’t quite right.

I am so jealous of your super hand writing. Why oh why haven't I been learning. So disappointed in myself. 🤦🏻‍♂Anyway I digress, my first ever fountain pen was the TWSBI 540 until it cracked. I was gutted. That led me into spending stupid money on pens. I dislike the metal TWSBI grips with a passion. My 580 ALR grip is too narrow and slippery its damn annoying. I do think the rose gold versions look incredible though. 😃👍🏻
