Why I miss filming at Duelist's Den

- This week I was filming the story of a Texas legend...Ben McCulloch, and how he secured 2,000 Colt 1860 Army revolvers for the Texas Rangers, right at the start of the Civil War.
Because of the corrupt political machine that is trying to stop me from shooting on my land, I had to film this video at my gun club.

I can feel your pain, Sir. I also do not like using public ranges.
I use ranges for zeroing and that's about it
I belong to a private club. Tuesday mornings 7 or 8 of us retired guys show up and put up target backings and shoot. In the winter there maybe no shooting but the target shed has a Woodstock. Feed fire and drink coffee.
Keep up the good fight.
West Shore Sportsman is NOT a public range. It is a private club, the people shooting are members who have paid dues for access to and use of the club facilities.
Mike, your patience is truly amazing. Give those crony politicians hell.

The case precedent for private property shooting range in Pennsylvania includes Drummond v Robinson Township which has a very similar backdrop. The US Federal Court of Appeals for the 3rd circuit (PA) found (as precedent) and upon remand the District Court granted injunction against the ordinance reasoning "securing their Second Amendment rights weighs in favor of granting the preliminary injunction." Likewise, Barris v Stroud Township regarding a private shooting range limited by zoning violated 2A rights, affording the owner a win. I suggest including both 2A and 1A arguments in your case since that will afford a route toward appeals should your case be dismissed at the first level, or if it should rule against you. Failing to raise valid, important points esp regarding case law does not afford a "do over."
Don't stop your show/ channel. You are an icon that tells history and weapons truthfully and factually.
Mr. Mike, I saw the frustration on your face, but never fear,. we who admire you will watch your clips, regardless of background noise from gun fire, automobiles, or whatever. I can tell it worries and frustrates you. However, I feel safe in saying, we are not going anywhere. So, you are stuck with us. I just hope the Courts in Pennsylvania are "Just" and not some paid off clown show as seen in a lot of states in this country. Remember, we are hanging in there with you, Mr. Mike.
Moat of the courts here in PA are sellout democrats ot power hungry republican funds that just want to restrict people's rights in these past 3 years
I understand your frustration, Mr. B. 😢 I, too, love the sounds of freedom, 😊 but not during an educational video, such as you make. The cynic in me says that the tyrants want historical illiterates. I would have never sat through nearly as many of these fantastic videos as I have with the horrible distraction. Keep fighting, sir. We"ll try to back you up.

Yes indeed, Mike's current problems are pretty much a standard western plot. Nasty corrupt politicians try to run law abiding citizens off their land. But they don't realise that Mike has the whole internet behind him...
There’s a book called “The Ballad of Carl Drega: Essays on the Freedom Movement,” by Vin Suprynowcz, that discusses the problem of government officials taking people’s property, rendering it unusable, or restricting access through “Lawfare.” Much of it is cronyism where a commercial interest (developer) uses it’s friends in government to force property owners to sell at less than fair market value.

Very frustrating, I wish you well in your fight with the corrupt crony politicians. One might might understand their corrupt crony actions, they are politicians after all; but, I cannot understand or overlook their rude and egotistical behavior in an official public meeting. I’m looking forward to hearing about you giving these childish people a sound bashing with a good legal right-cross in the court room.

Hi Mike, good to see you back. We are all on your side in this fight. That said, you could have make the story part somewhere else and just add the shooting part (if any) from the range. No reason to make it more painful than it already is.

sometimes ya just got to keep the voice going. as a long time veiwer I can suffer through a few shots. Those that complain I asime have never had a conversation at the range. Thanks Mike and best of the world in your fight against the.........

I feel your pain. It is if they are trying to interrupt you. What in the world are those guys practicing for? Zombie apocalypse?

If they do not understand after viewing that video, then I’d say they will never understand what Duelist Den really is. As Paul who does a lot of gun related video’s, has shot his video’s at a lot of different places including different gun ranges. I suspect which is to cut down on the amount of background gun fire. As you can see it annoys him as well, when there is an excessive amount of gunfire going on while filming.
I bet a lot of editing goes into your video's when shooting at the club. I feel your pain but also had to laugh a little watching this video. This is a perfect example why the Den needs to be reopened soon. I support your fight Mike. Hope to see you soon back that the Den. Take care.

I could feel your frustration through the tv screen! Watching the video, it might actually be easier to film all the history or talking parts at the Den and then finish up with the shooting parts at the Club. At least for now. Until you can get everything back to normal.

At my gun club, it's often said how it seems so few people use the range, and when you're there, it should be like your own private range. Thing is, everybody shows up at the same time. There's almost nobody there from sun up to around 4pm on weekdays, because everybody is working. 4pm rolls around, 10 people show up at once. If the weather's nice, there might be a bunch of retired people hanging around during the day. If it's raining, you're going to have the range all to yourself! Unless you want to use the indoor pistol range, that is.

I know exactly how that feels !!! I recently had guys do this to me while making my RUclips videos, and it's happened to me several times while making my Instagram videos ! I'm not able to afford my own property, so I'm at the mercy of the gun club I belong to as well ! I wish you the best of luck in your court case, Sir !

Sounds of freedom. Gotta love it! I saw something recently where older weapons, black powder, and whatnot, were able to slide under the radar because they are no longer considered WMD or whatever. Or have I mish-mashed some things? I know in Japan you can only own a sword made there using the old methods and were considered art and not weaponry,. At any rate, if they aren't real weapons why can's you have it? Not a high-capacity clip mag puppy-killing ghost gun in sight.

Yup handloading and I even started to make my own primers and priming compound. Thanks to Aardvark reloading. It's a slow process but it does work.

To tell the absolute truth, I can hear you over the shooting, and I have very bad ears from 70 years of shooting. It's not so bad, and as you so aptly say, it's the "sound of freedom." I like to hear it. Bad for my ears, good for my heart.
