Snow white was beautiful the way it was. It portrayed a strong woman who was gracious and helped the dwarves while they worked hard to provide for her and keep her safe. She wasn't opressed, she was happy and cared for the dwarves as if they were her children. It portrayed her innocence of being blind to the evil of the world by accepting an apple, it taught us not to take things from strangers even if they appear frail or benign. It taught us that being jealous of someone else is harmful to you and others, it sets you up for failure. It taught us that even a man who's job it was to kill, can be swayed by the beauty of the world and the kindness of a heart, to change and become something better. It taught us that lying isn't always black and white and to lie to help someone is a good thing. The story has so much to offer and it's so sad to see it ruined like this

And yeah, sure, the dwarves have always kinda been slobs - but it’s not about them being dirty and messy, it’s about the motivations of Snow White in cleaning up for them & how she approaches it. A lot of reviewers and critics have said the Zegler Snow White isn’t doing this from a place of kindness and helpfulness, to give back to the dwarves for taking her in.

Classic Snow White was a great movie for children to learn how to earn respect. Modern Disney, the cast, disrespecting and ruining Walt Disney's legacy is a pure crime. I don’t think there’s anything wrong with adults (men or women) critically discusssing a childrens movie. As long as the impact of the movie, the morals and messages the movie presents, and such are being discussed. Those are pretty important in a story being told (especially ones based on fairy tales).
And yeah, sure, the dwarves have always kinda been slobs - but it’s not about them being dirty and messy, it’s about the motivations of Snow White in cleaning up for them & how she approaches it.
A lot of reviewers and critics have said the Zegler Snow White isn’t doing this from a place of kindness and helpfulness, to give back to the dwarves for taking her in.

The Brothers Grimm published "Snow White" in 1812, revised in 1854, and it was based on much older German stories. The Disney 1937 production was based on the Brothers Grimm story, though obviously they made some changes. I wish those talking about this new garbage version did not refer to the 1937 version as the original version, because it wasn't and I believe that virtually everyone at the time understood that.
While that's true that Walt Disney made a 1900s version of the Grimm Brothers tale that is cleaned up it had its own very distinct artistic style and did showcase classic themes of a movie of a villain of a hero etcetera.

I think I watched two contemporary movies in the last 4 years, Maverick (yay) and Jurassic World Dominion (ugh)
