Denise, I need to show my hubby this! 😅 I feel so understood with having OCC boxes everywhere. ❤ You have so much filler packed, that's amazing! You're so talented and creative! 🤩
Fortunately my hubby is very understanding....he gets a little wide-eyed once in a while around this time of year LOL...but generally very supportive. He says our entire house is an OCC workshop!
Mind totally BLOWN with the mini-chalkboard idea! That's an incredible and creative use of space and resources, and it totally encourages learning! Thanks for sharing these ideas!
I think there’s several things you could do with the eye glass cases. Craft kits, Lego sets, larger sewing kits, fishing kits, privacy case for underwear or personal items, or even just for putting sunglasses in to protect them from getting scratches! There’s no end to ideas of what to fill them with! Games or game pieces. Extra doll clothes. Any smaller items or toys that could be stored together in them like jacks.
@@drogers you are so welcome! I thank YOU for teaching us who watch how to pack not just better boxes, but some fun filler items as well! ❤️👏❤️👏❤️👏❤️👏❤️👏
Yes, sewing kits were at the top of my list but was hoping to come up with something a little different this year since I did so many mini sewing kits.
@@drogers how about large jewelry making kits? Are they long enough, I’m not at home to test one of mine, for colored pencils, eraser, sharpener and a few roled up advanced coloring pages? Personal kit with a pair of sunglasses that you can buy bulk with headband, hair scrunchy, bracelet??
Ahhh the fillers you packed are amazing. Very creative how you use containers. I’m always so impressed and admittedly a little jealous, of all the beautiful filler items you put together all year. You can truly tell how near and dear to your heart this project is. So many children will be blessed with your amazing gifts! TFS!
Thank you for this video. I have boxes everywhere as well. Makes me feel normal that someone has this as well. My Dad had knee replacement surgery last Friday so I am caring for him with doing pencil packs when I can. Great ideas for filter.
Thanks Julie! Happy healing to your Dad. I hear knee replacement can be a bit rough. I am having hip replacement pretty soon. Not looking forward to the surgey but definately looking forward to pain relief! And YES, you are normal! Boxes everywhere is a great sign of accomplishment for the children!
Hi Denise. I love the mylar bags, very fun. I have seen the eye glass cases packed as sewing kits. I think it would be fun to pack a little peg doll family in one with some miniature animals, or a Chelsea doll with extra clothes.
Love both of those ideas Theresa! I may consider that! I have a ton of Chelsea dolls and could make a little sleeping area and include extra clothes! Thank you!!!
Denise...you are incredible!! All those boxes done, plus filler items!! My living room is a mess right now...boxes everywhere..stuff everywhere...I have to organize quickly because Halloween is coming & I need to fill my Halloween bags for the kids...lol!! 😊
Yes, my house is full as a tick...that's what my mom use to say...lol. Boxes everywhere! I wish I had a local drop-off that would accept items year round! That would be awesome!
Wow! Such great fillers. You've been very busy Denise. I'm surrounded by 140 shoeboxes in my bedroom plus supplies in my closet. It must be that time of year! 😊
Hi Denise! Thanks for a filler video! I am a filler fanatic! It is SO much easier for me to get multiples of a few items than it is to fill a box with many different items. I have had eyeglass cases almost every year. I fill them with jewelry for the oldest girls. I leave the container plain cuz I heard that things are often stolen if others notice them. Don't know if that is true. I'm already excited to see your next video!
Oh I love that...filler fanatic! I am a bit of a fanatic also! I love getting creative with it and I know every single item will be blessing a box/child!
Thankyou for sharing with us. I love making up filler item's. I love the tiny doll's. I bought 10 when they were $2.00 each. They sit & have moving arms. I will make blankets now for them & use for filler. I will look for little rattles for them at dollar tree. I appreciate all of your idea's. They are so helpful. I did buy tins. So I will fill them up for filler. Do we need to bag up stuffed animals. Or put in loose for filler?
Stuffed animals are fine to send loose. No need for a bag unless you are pairing it with a shirt or something else. Thank you for watching and I am so glad this is helpful! The baby dolls are adorable aren't they?
Unfortunately reading glasses are not permitted by OCC. 😔 I entered "reading glasses" into the gift look up tool and the result said: "Stop! This item cannot be packed."
Oh my goodness my house looks like yours ! My husband says the only room in the house that doesn't have OCC stuff is the bathroom ! And he's right, but thankfully he doesn't mind as he is as excited about OCC as I am ! You have wonderful filler items, Denise ! So many great ideas !
I just enjoyed this video so much! I love all your ideas because so many things you've done have never crossed my mind. This really just shows the options are endless when it comes to filler packs. Thanks for the shout-out Denise and for all your inspiration!!!! ❤ Really loved this video!!!
I had started this year keeping all my packed boxes upstairs stacked up in spare bedrooms so Matt wouldn’t get tired of looking at them. 😂. But two of my daughters were home for the weekend a few days ago so I had to make a zillion trips up and down and take most of them downstairs so girls could move around in their rooms. Now, what I was trying to avoid has come to pass. Boxes are stacked up on main floor behind every piece of furniture I own lol. Love all your fillers ❤ So many possibilities for the eye glasses cases. Can’t wait to see what you come up with. Are they big enough for nice sewing kits including some fabric to practice with?
Oh this sounds like me...only my boxes were in the basement and I have been lugging them upstairs to the living room. Now they are everywhere in my living room! Yes, the cases are definately big enough for sewing kits. That was a consideration but I was trying to think of something new. I think I now know what I am going to try! Stay tuned!
Thank You for sharing all your filler. So amazing all that you have done. I’ve enjoyed seeing your boxes this year also. I still have 8 more boxes to pack to make my 50 box goal.I also did 600 pencil packs. I am trying to go thought my extra stuff to send for filler. Our Walmart and Kroger stores has toy clearance and I just need to stop buying😂. Our target also clearance the school pencils in the dollar spot. They are .50 stocking up for next year. ❤❤❤
Funny....I was at Target yesterday and bought up ALL of the dollar spot pencils they had at .50! And yes, I need to stop buying too! LOL. WOW! 600 pencil packs is wonderful! Thank you so much Tammy for packing! I am so passionate about getting school supplies into those boxes! They will be such a blessing!
I love the create knot bracelet kits!! They look so nice!! I noticed you used that thicker cord from DT. Not sure what they call it, but it’s something other than Paracord. I think🤔? I always like the colors and that it comes with more cord on the spool than the Paracord. Does it work just as well to make bracelets? It looks great! The teddy bear washcloths are adorable, as are the heart shaped sewing kit tins! Those sunglass cases would make a great container for a sewing kit, but personally, I would put sunglasses in them. I love it when sunglasses come in a case, but when they don’t I’m always looking for an inexpensive case for the sunglasses I love to pack. TFS all your great ideas, Denise ❤
I pack lots of filler as well as boxes. I was given those plastic pencil boxes & 2 cases of tennis ball containers I'm packing for filler. They both hold a lot of good stuff! I was wondering if the lids on the tennis ball containers will stay on securely enough to go through the filler bins. I love the mylar bags you use. Most of my items go in organza bags or quart/gallon ziplocks
I think the lids on the canisters work fine but you could always run a strip of packing tape around them if you are worried. I worked the filler area last year at the Baltimore PC and several of my canisters showed up in the fillers bins and were just fine. Thank you for packing filler!
For the boxes, first of all, if you gift sunglasses, give them a box. Other than that, I would put some little animal in them with some bedding. The kid can use them for a bed for the animal and store it in there later. Or use, it for hair ties etc.
That's amazing you packed this year the most shoeboxes! And you pack a lot this year! More children to bless! Of course I love this, and I love your filler! They are always so creative and much needed. Love the knot kits, mini pencil kits, mini chalk kits, and mini doll kits. The teddy washcloths are super adorable. My favorite are the heart sewing kits. The jewelry packs are so pretty. The mini shoeboxes are the best! So nice of you to give so many clothing and stuffed items. I can't wait to see what you do with the eyeglass cases. Same, I enjoy making filler. Thanks for sharing, Denise! Fingers crossed your filler come to my table at the processing center! 🤞
I’ve been watching your videos for a few years now and they have inspired me so much! Even though I’m in the uk and can’t shop at the same stores, they’ve helped fuel my passion for OCC and given me so many ideas so thank you . I’ve just uploaded my first video to RUclips and if you get time I would love to know what you think 😊 God bless!
Hi Alicia! I’ll definitely watch! Do you have an email that I can send a note to also? Let me know if there’s anything I can do to help you! Congrats on getting started!!!
This year I'm making game filler packs. I put 3 games in some type of recepticle like Uno Go dice and jacks or marbles, dominoes and a small four in a row game. I thik the eye glass holders would work well for this.
Hi! I make up game filler packs too! Dollar Tree here has dominoes, checkers, and decks of playing cards. These games can give enjoyment for years! I started creating these packs when I heard of a trio of boys who couldn't play soccer because of physical problems.
I LOVE this idea Maureen! I think I will go with it! I have a ton of small card games, dice and dominoes! Perfect! Thank you so much! I will try to figure out how to label the outside so the processors will know what's inside!
Enjoy watching all of your videos and love seeing all the boxes for the children! I would love to be able to do that but I’m very curious, with the expense of filling the boxes and $10 per box. How do people afford to do that?
I shop year round for the best prices. This allows me to pack quality items at a lower cost. I also put money aside each month for the $10 shipping fee. I know some people/churches do fundraisers or reach out through social media to friends and family for assistance. Hope that helps and thank you for watching! 🩷
Do you have a link for the printable you found for the chalk board? I put in mini homemade chalkboard kits, but I have never thought to put in a printable. I also, have been watching your video for years and really enjoy them. They are such a blessing.
