Great video. Only tower experience but did a some rigging and signaling on a tunnel boring job. Rigged up large pieces. Would always center up and tell the operator to hold his radius. Awesome to see how its done

Nice work Jimmy! Glad your camera survived, great editing on this one, very cool background music during the picks made for a great experience coupled with the multiple angles. 5 stars. Work safe, stay warm my friend! Doug@ the "ranch"
Really surprised they called you instead of an actual derailment company. Mobile cranes are typically not very good for rerailing operations. I state this as a 21 year carman who has cleaned up dozens upon dozens of derailments. Also those are improper places to be lifting a railcar. There are specific spots on the sides engineered for putting hooks and supporting the car properly.
We are located just a few mile from this facility. We also do 90% of their crane work. Given our proximity, we finished the job faster than a recovery company could get there. As far as the pick points....some of the pick points or the structure around them was badly damaged. Since the cars are getting rebuilt, cutting holes at the top wasn't an issue. Many thanks for watching! 🙂
Very nice video. Love the different angles. Did a great job on that first one. It’s hard to center yourself by looking at the block or rigging when the load is on an angle like that. Local 12 SoCal baby!
@@ToTheTopCrane The top-down cab view above your head is great. One question: what does the left hand pedal do on your Tadano? You had your foot on it while you were waiting with the load in the air.

The way the hooks attach that load looks like a real risky choice they could have been wrapped around. As somone has cut nice big holes the chains would easily pass through.
