It's possible he made a mistake J'ing out (arb habit kicking in) and then spawned the same plane with a backup (paying the sp cost again), giving you this illusion.
1:55 techanically repair can as little as 10 seconds with full repair speed and an aced crew

@@LichtL-ni3rl yeah if it was in arcade battles I would have understood the respawn if you J out. The game was in realistic that's why I'm confused, even if it was just to rearm his guns and maybe a bomb or 2 that still takes longer than what they did.

if your undamaged you can just J out and spawn instantly, mostly people do that especially in top tier so this is normal

he was changing his loadout, supposedly if you J out on the air field it allows you to change your loadout and spawn back in. I think.
