Just came across your video, have been watching the flycatchers there for a few years now, they are definately on the increase (I have spotted six pairs this spring up from four), there are some suprising rarities in the area you have walked in. Great video, might bump in to you in that area one day (I live local to this spot)
Have walked through there for many years but not ever spotted them, teeming with Redstart there too, more from this location coming soon, If you see me around say Hi 😀
I'm a resident bird photographer from cannock chase,i'm glad you did not disclose too much info on the pied flycatcher nest site. P.S liked the video a lot keep up the good work,it's nice to see young people getting in to hobby and not just us old codgers
Thanks for watching, we're lucky to have them in the area, My Grandad got me into Birds when I was very young so it's the senior community that I have to thank for enabling me to enjoy Birds and Wildlife
@ghostdancer58 he had fantastic knowledge but unfortunately lost him when I was 11 and yes stay tuned to see when I return for Redstart photography and if it was a success
Nice ! The chase is around 25 mins from me. I'm up there every few weeks but it's so vast it's hard to find stuff. Got some good pics of spotted flycatchers last year though. I went up recently looking for crossbills (unsuccessfully) and did the obligatory stop at Wolseley on the way back. I'm currently on a Linnet mission at a place near me where there's a good number every day, just not managed to get a decent close pic yet.
Yeah I tend to go to the Freda's Grave area and down to Sherbrook Valley, seems to be alot going on down there, Crossbills are a tough one, there always sported... just not by me either! Definitely a species I want to cover in a video, Wolseley is always good for a little wander too yes
Great video mate! Fair play with the Pied Flycatcher, real fantastic sighting!
Thanks for watching Damian! Yeah it's one of those birds that have that extra bit of wow factor to them for me 👍🏻
Great video Lewis, i'm hoping to see the pied and spotted flycatchers at Padley Gorge soon, lovely turbo charged birds. Keep up with the great videos👌
Thank you for the kind comments, yes such great birds with character, hope you manage to get some good views there!

@@LewisRound your Grandad sound like one of us cooler seniors, P.S. you weren't far away from the Redstart.
