They started building several chip foundries a few years ago but have not completed it yet. They rely on China, which the U.S. had mostly dumped in favor of Taiwan making the Russians the number one buyers. The ISW, GlobalSecurity and RAND all have excellent analysis on Russia. The RAND reports in partucular are used by the DoD.

На сколько мы знаем планер уже есть, двигатель то же есть, сейчас его напичкивают электроникой плюс Мин Обороны ему в обще какие то требование из звездных воин потребовало, чуть ле не выход на около земную орбиту и скорость 3500 км в час без форсажа. Есть тут чему российским инженерам задуматься, а знаете что интересно его все таки построят)
Да, там есть в ТЗ кратковременный выход в ближний космос. До выхода на орбиту, конечно, не дотянет (там скорость нужна порядка 25200 км/ч), но вот для пуска гиперзвуковой ракеты по спутнику ненадолго прыгнуть в ближний космос, говорят, сможет.
Построят, и есть новый двигатель, дает скорость 48 300 км/ч в космосе. Разработка КБ "Алгоритм". До Луны может доставить 200 т груза - прямо на лунную базу им. Рогозина.

@@pblcb_L.K. В ближнем космосе все аэродинамические характеристики самолета теряются и он становится неуправляемым. Решение конечно есть, это газовые двигатели, или стабилизаторы (кому как удобно называйте), но пока еще ни одного подобного истребителя не было построено.

At this point the MIG-41 has been in development for 20 years and it seams like any Mig news is fantasy, but I love Migs so much I'll always be a sucker for a new MIG video project. i will say if it looks like a modern stealth MIG-21 (as often depicted) it would be a beautiful/terrifying fighter.

"Беркут" бы летал... Но проблема была, насколько я знаю, в недопустимом скручивании крыла при некоторых углах атаки на высоких скоростях. Это "болезнь" всех ЛА с обратной стреловидностью. Тем же "болел" и Northrop Grumman X-29. Да и устарел он по сравнению с тем же Су-57. И довольно сильно. Но! Су-47 всё же дал много для Су-57, С-70 "Охотник" и Су-75. Потому "Беркут" до сих пор работает в режиме ЛЛ (летающей лаборатории).

Су 47 уже не будет, это не практичный самолёт, просто красивый, но смысла в нём мало. Вот Су 37 я ещё вижу потенциальное возобновление производства ( если это будет просто улучшенный Су 27), а Су 47 таких задач нет, для чего он был сделан.

I don't see this happening anytime soon, ok after 2025, way after. Plus I m not sure it will make the MiG-31 obsolete, since this one looks smaller and probably unable to field a Kinzhal, something which would extend the use case of the MiG 31.
I see an urgent need to contact the MiG construction bureau in case they forgot to consider the purpose of the new interceptor... Please call them to remind them of the kinzhal thing!

It WILL be after 2025....and probably closer to 2035.....
It almost certainly will NOT be a mach 4 or 5 aircraft too. It's most likely going to be close to mach 3 (Mig 31 level of speed) BUT will add a degree of stealth, greater range, MUCH better avionics and weapons and the ability to control drones.
Mach 4 to 5 requires VERY special exotic engines and often special fuel types....this sort of tech adds MASSIVE cost to a project.
Given the problems and issues Russia have developing the Su 57, its VERY unlikely they can produce an advanced mach 4/5 fighter.
The difference is today moving forward, against the f16 F35 and a number of other fighter jets, since Russia,s help in Syria, and to date in Ukraine the SU57 has made its statements, world wide, and up dates continue.

Achieve mach4 on a single turbine air frame? Not to mention the air frame would have to be rather large to carry that kind of fuel needed to obtain that speed. The US Airforce SR71 was able to cruise at over mach3. Two ram jet turbines and a large air frame to hold over 70 thousand pounds of fuel.

SR71 is a reconasaince aircraft with no hard points. Mig31 is an interceptor and almost as fast. I don’t think Russia needs advice from Usa.

Why do they bother with Mig 41 if they already have Su- 57??
6th-generation fighters will likely be known for having AI-assisted aspects or even being flown by AI itself and pilotless. This will represent another major leap in capabilities, and all countries able to develop such capabilities would be advised to start as early as possible. America announced its own program a few years ago and retired the F-22 early, but still maintains and develops the F-35.
Russia likely will not be able to create a respectable 6th-gen program. It is by far the weakest contender for 5th-gen of any country to produce it, and it has very few of them.

Their industry has already achieved producing hypersonic missiles in many variants which the US and Western countries are still trying to design one...
In addition the Russian industry has managed to implant anti hypersonic missile systems which ara capable of taking down the low orbit satellites...

I believe Mikoyan will manage this project...
