    Idk why people hate on Chris Simms and his takes. Yes they are not the traditional takes, but he watches films, values things that he does, and comes up with reasonable, coherent, and sound logic to back them up. Now you don't have to agree with his takes.
    Excellent combination of Mina + Chris - two of my favorite analysts.

      @@runrafarunthebestintheworld Lol...out of all the "analyst", he gets things way more right on his so called "wild takes" than others do on their simple consensus takes. ESPECIALLY when it comes to QBs.
      His take on Lamar in the draft was vastly different...and he was right, while everyone who put people like Sam Darnold and Josh Rosen over Lamar...look more and more silly every year. He actually uses context in his evaluations instead of being over-enamored with just stats & analytics which are way over sold in college when you playing against a lot of future personal trainers and accountants.

    • @deathhimself1653
      @deathhimself1653 Месяц назад +2

      @@DorkJelly Ehh, Simms QB takes are great and above average, but his other position takes historically have proven to be pretty below average. There's some standouts though. His corner knowledge tends to be the best in the NFL. And he's had standout moments at other positions. I'm a big fan, but he's definetly proven to be significantly worse than other analysts outside of QB's. (And essentially no analyst is as good as consensus, or the NFL) [Just some are closer than others]
      It's just good to hear a different take. His is very *very* old school. And most of the old school guys are actually hot take artists. Simms isn't.

He basically said this isn't the draft to trade back to get a bunch of later round picks because the talent drops off early with all these kids going back to school. Next year, when we have all our picks and a few more from other teams, aligns much better. This is a quality over quantity draft.

Feels more like rankings of how good they were in college than how good they’ll be in the NFL. Especially since he has Bo Nix who mostly threw checkdowns and screens all year and Penix who has one of the worst injury histories ever and doesn’t move that well.

    Patriots at #23 with AD Mitchell & B. Bowers on the board. You have to go Brock Bowers regardless of lack of depth for Wr. You won’t find a better TE in the draft. There’s still talent left on the board in the 2nd rd at pick #34.

      A tweener TE Pats are not taking that they'll do better taking stover in the 2nd if that's the case

    As a Bengals fan,Brock Bowers,would be hard to pass up.But since they signed Mike Gisecki,they probably would take Byron Murphy.Either one would be a good fit.

    When I think about the Chargers and Harbaugh, I know they have like zero WR's on their depth chart, but I just don't know that you're going to get the kind of usage/volume to justify taking a WR in top 5. And Harbaugh is all about the trenches. So I think he'd prefer OT, but my understanding is they are set at LT and need a RT, and Joe Alt is viewed as a definite LT. So it almost feels like trading back from 5 is a fait accompli.

    Vikings don't have second round picks to add in to a trade package unless they do some more trading. I feel like three 1's should be enough for #3 though.

    If I’m Ran Carthon and the titans I would immediately trade back to a qb needy team if Joe alt or Malik nabers is off the board at. Don’t settle for a tackle just because you have to have one. Why not trade back, add more draft capital then get your tackle. You’ll essentially get in return a future 1 plus a third and later pick this years draft.. smarter business decision if you ask me.

    I feel like Denver could be a trade down spot too. They don't have a second round pick, and 12 is a bit too rich to go either Nix or Penix.

    I would love to see Bowers fall to 24 but realistically can't see it happening. The possibilty of it happening though shows just how strong this draft is - primarily on the offensive side of the ball. I could see the Chiefs getting interested in a trade up if Bowers falls to the early 20s.

    With the some picks towards the end of the first round being unenthusiastic, some teams will trade up for somebody they actually want (for example, Chargers wanting to grab Roman Wilson before the Chiefs do).

    Mina great guest and love the show! As a Bears fan however player requests over Franklin- X. Worthy or Jackson power Johnson who have had top 30 visits along with Guyton. Franklin hasn't.

      Bears taking worthy over Franklin, legette, mckonkey would piss me off. Also if verse was taken 2 picks ahead of us like that would also piss me off. Especially after acquiring capital, you could in theory trade ahead of Tampa. I know this practice was just for fun but still lmao. Trading back that far wouldn't be for me unless you now use some 2025 capital to move in the higher 20s

    • @gavin639
      @gavin639 Месяц назад

      @@tonyk7387Disagree on Worthy obviously even if an X is a better fit but hard agree on Verse here. I do think him falling like this would be the exact scenario Poles would be sitting back waiting for whether Verse, Latu, Thomas Jr etc a good value pick will be there ~20 in this draft 28 is just a little too far probably.

    I loved the format and, as a Bears fan, loved the trade down and then when we got to 28 l, Mina put up the wrong two player choices IMO.
    With me it would either have been JPJ or Darius Robinson.
    Other than that, really great format.

    I wouldn't pass on Odunze. The capital is enticing, but you just don't pass on a blue chip. Pair him with Caleb and the Bears could make serious noise this season.
