안녕하세요! Wow, Mina! I love this format. Especially with an unpredictable draft picker like Chris Simms. This was fun to watch! I don't think a lot of analysts could come up with these crazy trades and pick choices on the fly. You really know this draft class, at least at the to 50-60 or so it seems AND also team needs. I've never seen this format before but I really like it. Especially because you have no clue about Chris Simms positional rankings.
Both the Bears GM and coach said they want a blue chip player at 9. They are not trading back if Odunze is there. And if he's not they're definitely not trading far far back.
Exactly... these people don't listen to what Poles clearly communicates. Most transparent GM we've ever had. He basically said this isn't the draft to trade back to get a bunch of later round picks because the talent drops off early with all these kids going back to school. Next year, when we have all our picks and a few more from other teams, aligns much better. This is a quality over quantity draft.
She was making it a choice for Chris. This is not what he’s predicting lmao. Y’all take this tooooo serious. Look at how far Bowers fell, TO THE COWBOYS! No way he goes that far but she was putting up different players so it wouldn’t be the SAME EXACT MOCK that she did with Daniel Jeremiah! Geez. Bears fans LMAO. Losing for so long and now having the best QB prospect who could also become a bust, is getting in that brain lmao. Good luck !
@@kennypereira421Her choices sucked and the exercise wasn’t fun for Bears fans. She even gave the choice of a receiver who’s definitely not going round 1. Bears fans are tired of national media crapping on them just because they don’t care about them due to losing.
23:54 Chris gives his QB rankings… and somehow he has Maye at QB6 at best (which to me seems absolutely insane). Feels more like rankings of how good they were in college than how good they’ll be in the NFL. Especially since he has Bo Nix who mostly threw checkdowns and screens all year and Penix who has one of the worst injury histories ever and doesn’t move that well.
As a Bears fan I didn't mind the trade back even though it was really far, but Troy Franklin was a huge let down. I'd rather take a chance on Xavier Worthy at 28 if we're going speed receiver. I would have taken Jackson Powers-johnson, bears aren't set at center
Why does everyone say Chargers fans want a WR?!? As a Chargers fan, I really want to trade down and draft OL. If we stay at 5, then OL would still be fine.
great show! I really loved this discussion! Two people who are experts worth listening to about football. As a Raider fan I liked that they showed Penix Jr available at #12 where Chris chose him for the Broncos. My guess is that in that situation the Broncos will pick JJ McCarthy leaving Penix for the Raiders.

This is a good balance because Mina represents the media group think and political correctness (she refuses to even say Aaron hernandez name) and just regurgitates mainstream opinion, whereas chris is fiercely independent in his football thoughts, and is not afraid to talk straight (or say a football player’s name). They balance each other out well
Penix had 8 total yards on 35 carries for the season. (Simms)> Plenty of film of him getting out of the pocket running for 1st downs...Michigan dared him to throw short to mid or run and well you saw what happened.
I'm a Simms fan, but he doesn't watch enough film on prospects. I think he said he watches 3-5 games on each guy. I wish he would evaluate prospects throughout the year.
To call Quentin Johnson the same type of wr as Harrison Jr is laughable. One can only run in a straight line and the other is the best route runner in the draft.
Mina you have it all! Your format proves that silly gimmicks aren't needed to cover serious, yet fun NFL topics and players. I have to say it! I Love the braided hair. Anymore Ideas what the Cardinals will do at number 4?
11:16 chargers fans don't be mad about that pick because look at what the Chiefs have built with their O-Line protecting Mahomes build it from the front than the weapons

If there is an OT run like this, the Dolphins better not reach for an OL at 21. McDaniel would be pounding the table for TE Brock Bowers and I suspect Grier would agree. Tua would have his Travis Kelce.
Like the draft, a little different but I love the Lions pick of DeJean. Although I think he could be a better man coverage guy then people think but is definitely a Dan Campbell Guy. I hope he is there for Brad to make the decision.
Patriots at #23 with AD Mitchell & B. Bowers on the board. You have to go Brock Bowers regardless of lack of depth for Wr. You won’t find a better TE in the draft. There’s still talent left on the board in the 2nd rd at pick #34.
I would love to see Bowers fall to 24 but realistically can't see it happening. The possibilty of it happening though shows just how strong this draft is - primarily on the offensive side of the ball. I could see the Chiefs getting interested in a trade up if Bowers falls to the early 20s.
Simms is the best! Got to hear him when he filled in on WFAN in the mornings and been riding with him since. Dude owes my Jets a QB in the future. If I can get over Zach Wilson not living up to the hype (Covid season is a valid excuse) then we can all move on. Simms been killing it for years!
Verse at TB sounds like a happy team 1st pick; the GM loves a great edge rusher and Verse is that player for the position .... Hopefully they can get a Corum afterwards...
I like Simms but is argument on the Giants not getting a QB and instead a WR I don't agree with. I know he's a Giants fan and doesn't want to be critical of Daniel Jones, but he knows that the Giants aren't risking paying an often-injured QB 23 million if he's injured due to the injury clause that he has in his contract for next year. Also, getting a WR doesn't solve your protection issues; changing players and coaches (which was done in free agency), getting a QB with a quicker release and that can read defenses faster (which is a weakness of Daniel Jones) and getting a mobile QB (which was a strength of Jones but now is a weakness because of his injury history) is a few ways that you can assist a weaker O-Line.
MHJ is the better player and the blue chip prospect plus it feels the biggest need on that team that they haven't filled in SIX YEARS since OBJ got traded. They also only averaged 16 ppg and have one of the worst WR groups in the NFL. Simms analysis is pretty spot on. He never had a consistent avg OL, they gave up the 2nd most sacks in NFL history last year, never had a #1 wr to throw to and DJ is going to be the day 1 starter regardless of whether they're drafting someone or not. What's the point of drafting JJ only for him to ride the bench for a year at best when they need to fill holes with players who can make day 1 impact? They should take the Niners route of team building. Build the team then get the QB. That's how the Niners been so successful regardless of who they have at QB.
Hi Mina, I love your podcasts ! I just don’t understand why you didn’t give Chris the option of picking Bo Nix at the Denver spot because we know that he would take Nix over Penix?
As a Bengals fan,Brock Bowers, would be hard to pass up.But since they signed Mike Gisecki, they probably would take Byron Murphy.Either one would be a good fit.
To be fair to Simms, he hasn't really watched film on TEs yet. So, probably mostly only know him by reputation, and doesn't want to jump out on a limb and rate him above guys he's already analyzed and loved. Especially for a position that is fairly low value in most offenses.
I loved the format and, as a Bears fan, loved the trade down and then when we got to 28 l, Mina put up the wrong two player choices IMO. With me it would either have been JPJ or Darius Robinson. Other than that, really great format.
When I think about the Chargers and Harbaugh, I know they have like zero WR's on their depth chart, but I just don't know that you're going to get the kind of usage/volume to justify taking a WR in top 5. And Harbaugh is all about the trenches. So I think he'd prefer OT, but my understanding is they are set at LT and need a RT, and Joe Alt is viewed as a definite LT. So it almost feels like trading back from 5 is a fait accompli.
With the some picks towards the end of the first round being unenthusiastic, some teams will trade up for somebody they actually want (for example, Chargers wanting to grab Roman Wilson before the Chiefs do).
Mina great guest and love the show! As a Bears fan however player requests over Franklin- X. Worthy or Jackson power Johnson who have had top 30 visits along with Guyton. Franklin hasn't.
Bears taking worthy over Franklin, legette, mckonkey would piss me off. Also if verse was taken 2 picks ahead of us like that would also piss me off. Especially after acquiring capital, you could in theory trade ahead of Tampa. I know this practice was just for fun but still lmao. Trading back that far wouldn't be for me unless you now use some 2025 capital to move in the higher 20s
@@tonyk7387Disagree on Worthy obviously even if an X is a better fit but hard agree on Verse here. I do think him falling like this would be the exact scenario Poles would be sitting back waiting for whether Verse, Latu, Thomas Jr etc a good value pick will be there ~20 in this draft 28 is just a little too far probably.

I think I would prefer Joel Klatt and Mina as a pair. Unfortunately Joel is on FOX and Mina is on ESPN.
Same Joel Klatt is pretty good. Much better than Chris Simms by a mile.
I see that Chagrin MinaKimes about the trade up to 2nd for Daniels !! He is that good .... He will be a future Marino
I think Bowers is the 2nd best skill player behind Nabers. I'd be shocked if he makes it out of the top 12
He will this is the most overrated player in this draft not saying he isn't a first rounder no team in the top 15 is touching that
Bro is a troll 😂 Maye and Marvin Harrison
MHJr. had his daddy speaking fo him at the combine... & his daddy had ZERO to say when he played in the NFL, so nah that kid is a KID.
People like you forget every year that consensus top guys bust all the time
Pull your head from your ass
With the some picks towards the end of the first round being unenthusiastic, some teams will trade up for somebody they actually want (for example, Chargers wanting to grab Roman Wilson before the Chiefs do).
Completely dismissive of Marvin Harrison Jr. He averages 18.1 yards vs Nabers 17.6 yards per catch.
Would riot if the Bears traded back that far
Simms is wrong about Maye but what else is new. If NE gets a generational QB, the NFL will be pissed.
Sims is money. Every year, people think he is crazy and more often, he is right.
I feel like Denver could be a trade down spot too. They don't have a second round pick, and 12 is a bit too rich to go either Nix or Penix.
