    I forgot to mention to enable Film>Transparent in the Render properties so the background is fully transparent (grey object is gone).

    The pacing of this tutorial was incredible
    So much information, straight to the point, offered solutions to common problems you could run into along the way, still had time for jokes

    I learned how to do this back in 2017 and I didn't commit it to memory. Then the tutorial was removed when I tried to go back to it a couple years ago. x_x Thanks for this.

    Wonderful tutorial, thank you! If anyone else is having issues with the outside of the impossible space still being visible, make sure Transparent is checked in Film in your Render Properties.

    Is there a way to be able to see the back side of the card with this technique? Like can you do a 360° rotation animation of the card?

      Yes, there's a really sketchy workaround because of eevee's really weird limitation.

    Hi! I can't render with transparent background whatever I try😢 film>transparent is turned on, png, RGBA is on too. In viewport it's transparent but after rendering it's just black background :(

      Check you compositor the Use Alpha might be unchecked, check that!

    How do you export this effect and make it Unity compatible due to most Blender Nodes not being Unity export friendly?

      You mean when you look it from behind you can see the back of the card but not the objects inside the card?

    I got a gray object behind the phone instead of a transparent object. Although I did everything as you did in the video. Blender 3.0.0 Alpha
    Such inconsistencies always discourage the study of programs. It is not the first time I repeat after the teacher, but the result is not the same as his(((

      you don't see the card only transparent pixels because the holdout object hides it

      @@levimagony So would it not be possible to do this with the rear of the card in one project or is that a 2 project/collection only thing, I've been wanting to do this but a 360 for a while but cant figure out how to go about doing the rear as well

      @@HiImKyle you can do it in one project if you cleverly keyframe the things, but it's usually done with mixing two scenes with a mask, a front and a back. I found a way to view the front and the back of the card in the viewport just like you want it to but it's viewport only and it's not perfect. So use masks instead that's way cleaner.

      1:50, this holdout shader makes everything transparent what's behind it so if you go behind it there's nothing only transparent pixels
