I think you guys have it figured out. Motorcycles have gotten big and crazy powerful just like how full size pickup trucks have gotten bigger and bigger over the years. Cruising the back roads is fun! Blasting down the interstate in traffic with semi's and everything, not so much.
This is the kind of motorcycle I would love to have. You nailed it in your description. It's plain fun to ride. If only I could still ride and had the money. Watching this made me really miss riding. I still keep my motorcycle license just in case God decides to heal me on this earth. I'm sure I could do a short ride on one. My back issues would make the hardtail an issue. And my weight is probably more than that bike could handle. Anyways. Love the video and love the bike.
The bike for Me is just what i want, Had all the Harleys / goldwing / etc, But i need a bike to be smaller and not heavy, Been riding for 58 years and now i can not hold a big bike up and move it about anymore So i could still enjoy my motorcycling There are a lot of small bikes i can buy But the Halcyon looks better, When i can buy one to use in the UK, " Safe motorcycling "
Seen an ad for these pop up on facebook and loved it. Then found out you guys are only 2 hours away from me. I'm excited to come and check them out in person.

I love this bike, the simplicity, the hand crafted workmanship, the look of a retro bike without the plastic and cheap parts found on some retro bikes. If I had one of these I would not need to go to a shop for any maintenance, it is so basic I could do it all myself. Did I say.....I love this bike! How would the Halcyon be for 3 or 4 day road trips on secondary roads? BTW, that is a very good looking jacket you are wearing. If I may ask, what is the brand?
Hi Paul! We've done a couple of multi-day trips on the Halcyon, even down in Baja California, and it does very well. Of course, it is not designed with the some of the comforts of larger touring bikes, but if you plan in some time for stops, it is a great way to travel. Or, you can just strap in and ride across the US in 6 days, like Richard did. Either way, the Halcyon will be ready and waiting! And the jacket is a Vanson.
I had a good friend who had a 250cc Honda we rode in unlimited motorcycle races in Europe. And he won. Of course, it was a 350cc 6 cylinder Honda that revved to 20K. The liter bikes would pull away from him in the straights, but as soon as they hit corners, the left them way behind.
I like this classic style motorbike, I wanted to see with my eyes directly. What I'm interested in this motorbike is the old school front suspension rather than using a typical front telescopic suspension. Greetings from Indonesia

I love the old/retro style and the fact you use the local amish craftsman/women talent (I would love a HD WLC/WLA) but a 250 and only 14Hp and 70mph max? I had a Honda 125 cruiser that would do that back in the mid 90s.....I just hope it doesn't turn into a Hipster mobile that'd put me right off getting one (if they ever made it over to the UK). TALLY HO!
Darren Taylor it gas all ready been bored up to 229 from 125 at the factory. So to start you would do the basics. Pipes, air filter, jets. If you’re willing to sacrifice the top end you could change the gearing.

I like these because they're simple, and basic like the motorcycles of the 30's-40's. But they sound like a Briggs and Stratton lawnmower haha. I'll stick to the BSA for now.
No Tach...definitely for country side travel only--not for interstate travel. And using it in an Amish countryside? I wish the USA is filled up with Amish country-side settings. Definitely not for Detroit settings! (I'm watching out for the thought police.)

What are the options for gently and tastefully enhancing the performance of these machines? (With factory support of course)

Absolutely not! Richard, co-founder and lead designer, is 6'6 and right around 225 and he rides them comfortably.
