A nice word of warning, depending on what brand of battery you purchase, the logic-board connector can be super-brittle and snap off from the small PCB it is a part of if proper care isn't taken.
Yours is the easiest instruction to follow. Lucky for me the screen is already lifted up probably by poor glueing by a previous third party repairman. The battery he replaced with lasted for about 6 months. The battery was totally conked and I was hoping it was really the battery and not something else. So I bought a battery online for just US12 equivalent on offer compared to what I was charged for the previous replacement which was almost US100. Worst comes to worst it’s below 20 bucks wasted. Anyway looking at your video while doing the battery replacement it went smoothly. However I lacked proper equipment just used whatever was available including a Starbucks membership card. The screws are really tiny and I lost a few lodged in the tablet itself as I was using a 24 year old screwdriver given by a nice man at the specs shop long ago. Only after losing a few I got this bright moment of inspiration to wet the screwdriver tip and the screws stick luckily. Anyway I was prepared to consign this tablet as a paperweight and didn’t bother about the lodged screws. The screen turned on fine but there was a bit of a regularly alternating shadows on one side in a line about 0.4cm wide. The battery looks good in fact better than the one before. The shadows hardly noticeable after a while. Thanks to you, I have my iPad Pro back when I was ready to let it go and in fact have bought a Chinese android tablet. Playing Candy Crush is a breeze on my iPad Pro but so frustrating on my cheap android as do other apps.
Great you got it fixed..Nowadays it is quite frustrating that needs too many tools to repair a broken device.. but try to keep b7000 glue, it is handy when you are closing devices back..
Apple must’ve invested in the best glue in the world because it was such a pain getting that battery off even heated up. Great tutorial btw! I was about to give up with the battery connector, but patience was definitely needed here.
Hi! Good day! May I know how to distinguish if the ipad pro 9.7 batt is legit? Or not? Can you give me some tips of brand do you prefer? And why? Thankyousooomuch i hope you notice my comment. I am a new subscriber. ❣
Well it is quite difficult to say which is original and which is not..Because Apple don't sell batteries..But there are good OEM brands, which have a good track record and they are almost original quality. And also they don't want to sell batteries with lower quality to ruin their brand..Send me your country so i can tell you some brands..
Very helpful video. Just a question, was able to replace the battery but still won’t turn on but I feel the board getting hot when I tried powering on the device. What to do?
it can be few things, - bad replacement battery, Power adapter or cable issue (make sure your wall adapter is iPad Compatible), or an issue with a board IC..To start check the first two things
I changed out the battery as instructed and the power seems to work fine now but some of the number buttons on the screen don’t work now what should I do? It seems to be on one side of the screen.
The design flaw here is that when the iPad is not fully turned off, there’s a high chance that you might fry the screen as you cannot easily disconnect the battery before removing the screen. I hope i’ll be able to keep it fully functional after trying this
Unfortunately i broke my lcd when replacing the battery😭😭😭 i guess i went too deep when trying to get the glue from the screen. Battery works great though.
>Press and quickly release the Volume Up button. > Press and quickly release the Volume Down button. > Then press and hold the Power button until the device restarts. If not you need to test with a new screen to see the issue.

Hello. Nice tutorial by the way. I have an issue with my screen. After replacing the battery, the screen won't turn on. I can hear the sounds like when the charging cable is connected and typing by the touching the screen. Ive connected the 3 connectors to the screen several times thinking there's a loose connection. I tried resetting the ipad and no luck. Any suggestions?
Thanks for your feedback. We have shortened the video on those steps. Well, it takes time, but proper heating and tools will reduce the time. Next time, we will try to display more. You can try this video too - ruclips.net/video/S6S5pdzyRwo/видео.html
There should be consumer protection laws requiring them to support the device for 10 years. Just security updates and either let us sideload apps or fix their bloody store so I only see compatible apps even if they're outdated.
Now i broke my smart connector plug. Tried to connect it with the battery but didn’t make it. Took me 20 mins and then the smart connector plug decided to break😅. I guess it’s better to buy brand new ipad
I did exactly the same ....Got the screen check OK .Then disconnected and secured the last battery connection and shield and reconnected the screen and .....nothing completely dead😢! won't even take a charge . Before I close it up ,do You think the Motherboard is cooked? Is it even possible without messing about in the connections aside from following Your instruction?@@DIYGeardo
When heating and taking apart, something happened to the digitizer like part of it got stuck in the adhesive and held the whole thing together on the "opening" side and then tore to the wires thereby ruining the digitizer. Your instructions didn't warn about this happening so I'm very disappointed in you. Now I have to buy a digitizer.
Instaed of blaming someone else try blaming yourself for your lack of knowledge in repairing something that you know nothing about, he is just trying to help people and you are blaming him for you damaging your ipad, next time take it to a professional if you are unsure of what you are doing.
I did a crappy job on my iPad mini 1 battery replacement back in the day. I followed all the tutorials out there but ultimately it was my fault. Over the years, I’ve gotten better at repairing my devices. Don’t blame this guy. Take it as a learning lesson and better yourself.

Is it possible to skip the heating part and just remove the adhesive with the tool?
Yes possible, but be gentle
I have the same heating pad. Do you use the tablet function? How long has to heat? Thanks
Start with 60c for about 1 minute and then use as you need with 30 seconds intervals. Different tablets need different timing.
Excellent thank you
