hey i am looking for an rx6800xt and rtx3060ti can u tell me which one is better i know RTX-GPU's are better at rtx but still... if u know please reply
5900x, 3090, 64gb ram. Gonna just build a whole new high end system in a couple of years unless it stops doing what I want it to do before then. Lol. Hopefully gonna be able to wait until at least the 50 series gpu Era and the ryzen 9000? Era cpus. Not locked Tinton brand loyalty I'll build whatever is the most performance per dollar at the time.
im on a lenovo legion laptop with a ryzen 5800h and an rtx 3070. and i get $2000 for some reason so why not spend it on a desktop computer, but i live in norway so gpu prices are way higher than it is in usa so i guess imma go for an apu build first and add the gpu later when i can afford it
they’re not retailers, they’re most likely third party sellers (aka scalpers) on amazon or newegg that bought a bunch of GPUs at high prices back in 2021-22 and absolutely refuse to lose money on them. they will hold on to their GPUs until the end of time if it means they have a small chance of not losing most of their scalper money. i guess that strategy kinda works since there’s at least one person that was ready to spend $1800 on a 3090 Ti lol
It's that expensive because it's super rare, EVGA had a cult following and this is the last flagship GPU they made, more of a collectors item then a real PC part...
Hey Jason! It's the $600 build guy lol. Wow, I'm sorta embarrassed by how much I missed with that budget lol. When I sent in the link I had initially thought I picked the 3600 with something like the 6600 or the xt variant but I guess my eyes failed me haha. The reason I went with the RGB cooler was actually cause of a comment made by my friend since we both have used the AMD Stock Cooler and know it can produce a very whiny high pitched sound. My friend said that if his brother would hear that he'd think he wasn't getting his moneys worth lol. Overall I did rush this build when making it and I see I made a good number of mistakes haha. Nonetheless I'm glad I made those mistakes cause you actually helped out quite a bit! Thanks so much and I'll definitely look into what you've suggested!! I appreciate the help lots!!!
I went with his CPU/MB combo he suggested in your build for my roommates computer and it's been super quiet, we will be picking up a 6600 soon to play 1080 at ultra because he only has a 60hz monitor. All I'm saying is if you guys are serious, I wouldn't doubt Jason's build for a minute.
It's crazy how much know-how you squeeze into these videos, both market knowledge as well as technical knowledge. Even though I feel like I know a decent amount about DIY PCs, it feels like I always learn at least something from these!
@@PCBuilderChannel Hi, can i ask you what Is better in terms of Price performance ratio? AMD ryzen 5 7600 + ASUS TUF GAMING A620M-PLUS - AMD A620 or AMD Ryzen 7 5700X + ASUS TUF GAMING B550-PLUS - AMD B550 Thanks !

@@patrik5546 depends how much you pay for each. The 5700X can be found very cheap, so it's a great deal. But bear in mind that your upgrade path is limited to the 5800X3D in terms of gaming performance, while the 7600 can be upgraded to not only the 7800X3D, but also future AMD generations. The 5700X will still last you a good few years though, so for performance today it's the better deal, since you can invest the extra $ in a GPU instead
Potentially yea, could be but on the other hand, there are so so many people out there, that have way too much money and actually no clue! Or no time and thinking to themselves that the most expensive stuff will always get them the most.
@@jenzad7091 absolutely, I've spent the last year trolling through videos and forums trying to learn more about compatibility and price to performance, there is so much to take in, I knocked $6000 off my build from my first attempt on pccasegear haha, but people really do get carried away with all the advertising and hype.
My thoughts exactly. I'll eat crow if that dude actually builds anything remotely close to the build Jason suggested and posts it. On the other hand, it was an opportunity for Jason to have fun with a build and go all-out, which makes for good YT content.
This was my build and not a troll. I most likely will be taking the recommendations provided from the vid. Seems like a troll build because I want a top of the line gaming pc and I have the money for the budget, just didn’t know what parts go nicely together for my wanted Corsair themed build.
This is the exact reason retailers still sell 3090 ti's, 3090s, 3080 ti's for those insane prices. $1800 for a 3090 ti is only ment to be sold to people that have a huge budged and just sort Price: High to Low and click the top option and buy it. A simple google search like "best gpu 2023" would never suggest a 3090 ti obviously. Inefficient, loud, old gen, no new featurs like AV1 or DLSS3. These retailer prices are a literall scam trying to get as much profit from people that dont know much about computers. So disgusting.
The godzilla build in this video is very similar to my new PC that was delivered two days ago. I went with a Z790 motherboard, a 13900K CPU and the Corsair 7000 case but I took the same RAM and M2 drives. I would like to thank you, Jason, for your videos. It helped me tremendously in picking the parts. I would also like to thank your community for providing advice, tips and tricks in the comments as well. Keep up the good work!
Jason, LOVE your enthusiasm in helping us all with our PC build decision-making! It's a jungle out there and price vs performance is absolutely important in trying to come up with the best bang for the buck ==> and in THIS economy!?! It's more important than ever! So, thank you from ALL of us! I'm using your last few PC Build series videos to build my 5th (and hopefully fastest) 6K-8K video editing platform for Davinci Resolve to help edit my new(er) Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 6K Pro I was lucky enough to have a good friend literally give me his for free! I can foresee an AMD 7950X Build coming on as my used-to-be-amazing AMD Threadripper 1900X gets a bit bogged down with the footage!
I just picked up that Sapphire Pulse 7900XTX. What an absolute monster of a card and under $1000 right now! I came from a 3080Ti and I'm impressed as hell.
hello Jason! just two things to the "Godzilla" build. 1st: your concern about how multiple 1440p monitors can be handled by even the 4090. got an Inno3D X3 OC in my rig, with 3x32" 1440p Samsung G5, and in every circumstances that GPU beast can handle it easily. :) 2nd: if someone who's doing mostly gaming on the PC, and also a 1st time builder I wouldn't suggest the 7950/7900X3D CPUs, because of additional drivers and tools what are required to stop the 2nd CCD during games. it's just an additional point what may go wrong. 7800X3D is a better choice. IMHO!
Here are a few tips for those who decide to build a PC and know what components they will purchase. Save ALL the shipping containers and boxes that hold the item. Save everything in the box, including the packing material and extras. Some sellers require that you return EVERYTHING they shipped to you, even that free keychain. As you acquire the parts for your build, create a spreadsheet. I recommend using headers such as Item description, make and model number, serial number, warranty period, date of registration, seller's name, date of purchase, cost, etc. One never knows when this information will be needed. Also, save all emails concerning the purchase of the item. I make an email folder with the item's name, such as Video Card or Motherboard, and store all related emails. I hope this comment helps to keep you organized.
In the godzilla build you might as well change 7950x3d to 7800x3d, which is actually better for gaming than the top dog according to reviews for less money.
Once again you came to the rescue Jason! My wife got addicted to Hogwarts Legacy on my PC and starting using it a little too much, so I decided to build her a new system using your "PC Gaming is Cheap in 2023!" video. Built her a decent 1080p system with Ryzen 5 5600, a Gigabyte B550M K motherboard (a last minute swap when the B450 I bought was defective), your usual Silicon Power Zenith Gaming 2x8GB DDR4-3200, the cheap Timetec 1TB NVME drive, MSI Mech RX 6650XT video card, and a Thermaltake 550W semi-modular power supply (I reused an extra case I already had). The 6650XT gives her enough graphics to play Hogwarts on Low settings and that's all she wanted. Probably only spent about $700 total with tax. Thanks so much for all your advice and for helping me get my wife off of my rig! ;)
@@abstractnonsense3253 we haven't tried medium or high yet, when we ran the setup it recommended low so that's what we went with. I might play with the settings to see if it'll run decent on medium or high. And there's definitely no way I would try RT on a 6650XT on ANY game much less Hogwarts.
@@txchristopherreed I watched a video testing Hogwarts Legacy on a 6650 xt and it does 60+ FPS with high settings. It can't handle the ultra though. The comments were mentioning that ray tracing has to be completely off so there might be more than one ray tracing options at work in the game. It's also apparently a bad port so that might be another reason. But tinker with it and I'm pretty sure you can get to high settings comfortably above 60FPS.
Hey Jason. How it's going?) Watching your BMB series for a while and came up with an idea for another series. What if people will send you their configurations (the one they are currently using) and a budget they have to make an update? For example, I have a config with Ryzen 5 5600, RX 5700 XT, B450, 16 GB DDR4, etc. I have a budget like 500 USD and I want to get more FPS in 1440p. Let me know your thoughts. Only the best wishes to you and your loved ones. Take care.
I don't know that I would recommend the 7950 X3D or 7900X3D because in testing reviewers have found them to perform a lot worse in productivity then the normal X variants because of their custom firmware, and the gains in gaming don't seem equal to the losses.
I'm definitely looking at maybe getting that $1800 list, but am curious if I want to do UE5 game design during the day, and 1440p dual monitor WoW/Path of Exile(no shooters)gaming, monitors go up to 144hz. I don't know if the $1800 list is strong enough or if I need to bump it up. What are your thoughts Jason?
I'd love to have you look at my build but partpicker wants me to register which is pointless for one build. I haven't chosen the PS or GPU yet but I've got a few components: Ryzen 7950x Corsair H150i cooler Asus Rog STRIX B650-A mobo (because the newest ones - B670 series - seem to have network issues from all the reviews I've read) Corsair Vengeance 64gb 5200 (might return this for the 6k) Samsung 980 2tb M.2 gen4 SSD (x2) Can't find any Gen5 ASUS TUF GT501 Win11 Home I'll be using my existing monitors. Just need to round the build out with the power supply and GPU. As for GPU I'm thinking of a beefer for the primary display (currently an ASUS VG32VQ) and either one of my old 1070 FTW2 cards for the secondary monitors (2x 7 year old 24" Dell cheapO's) or a more up-to-date but less expensive GPU.
I recently commented on your “how to get max FPS” set up video saying that I was waiting on parts to come in, they came in and I got it built and updated bios and everything else with confidence because of your video! Thank you for the help and the entertaining videos! I also used your code to get my windows key :)

Been waiting for a while for itx prices to drop on am5 but it just hasn't happened. Ended up going with Intel using a 13400 with the aorus b660i pro board. It as only 90 bucks after the 20$ off with CPU purchase. Am I missing something on that board or is that just a really good price at microcenter?
I'd love to see you do microcenter only builds as they will usually sponsor those vids as well. Showing off 2-3 builds would be amazing with entry level intel, mid range radeon, and top end nvidia (4090) would be an amazing video!
A good B550 or X570 like the X570s aorus elite AX. 240mm aio with extra 3 fan pack, 2X16GB 3600 CL16 Ram, 1 or 2 TB nvme and 1000w psu (if you're thinking of upgrading.)
Mr. Bear's Cat PoV website is adorable. Funny story I had to fresh reinstall Windows yesterday before raid, Windows 11 had set my refresh down to 59hz (awful bug). I do want to do an upgrade but will see just have to decide when. Have an extra case, nvme, etc all ready though. Usually I start collecting parts then go for it.
Microcenter has some sweet Processor/Mobo/RAM combos and I just bought one (the AMD7900X processor). I also bought a 7900XTX red devil GPU. I had them put it together for me as I didn't want to make a mistake. But, when I started playing games, i was like, what the heck? This doesn't look right. Turns out they didn't disable the onboard graphics! Also, they set the RGB to just red all the time. I'm not happy with them. Can you do a video on tips , tricks, and hints on what I should do now that I have my computer home? If anybody has other suggestions on settings to tweak to get the most out of my computer, please let me know. Thank you.
Hi, you don't have to disable the internal graphics. All you have to do is plug the cable from the monitor into the Red Devil's output, not the motherboard's output. AMD's Adrenalin software (Right click on your Monitor) lets you control the Red Devil. You should also be able to find software on your PC from the manufacturer of the motherboard to control the RGB color scheme. You can find lots of videos on RUclips that answer your questions, which will help you and much more about like the bios settings of your mainboard, best adrenaline settings for your graphics card and so on. Just search for it. The Tube is full of it. Have fun with your great system!
@@Bastelopa_wie_mein_Channelname Thank you for the help. I was checking out the AMD software and it said something like Graphics 1 and Graphics 2 where 1 was the built-in graphics and 2 was the GPU. Do you think I should re-enable graphics 1? It seems to be working fine.
@@shawnangie1 If Graphic 1 and Graphic 2 are enabled, you can save power. Then Graphics 2 can use Graphics 1 for simple applications and as soon as you play games or an application requires more graphics power, Graphics 2 becomes active.

What's up with that Windows 11 Home license on the first build? Don't you have any of those OEM licenses that you've linked before? Can save a bit and get a better CPU and cooler probably.

How big of a difference does bottlenecking make for fps ? Im thinking of paring a 6800xt with a Ryzen 9 5900x as it bottlenecks the least or should i rather invest in a cheaper cpu like a 5600x and get a 6950xt ?
It depends on the game and what resolution you want to use. Bottleneck calculators can sometimes be useful for a general idea of how well a CPU and GPU will match, but they can't account for all the differences in how different games utilise the CPU and GPU, so you shouldn't rely on them alone. An RX 6800 XT with a Ryzen 9 5900X is a great combination for a combined gaming+workstation PC (e.g. for a software developer who also plays games, or a video editor who uses software like Vegas Pro, which runs well on AMD GPUs) or for hosting game servers, but for high-refresh-rate gaming at 1080p you would benefit more from a Ryzen 7 5800X3D. The 5800X3D is usually the same price as the 5900X but is significantly faster in most games thanks to its much larger cache, especially in strategy and simulation games like Factorio and Flight Simulator, and in fast-paced multiplayer games like Valorant. Bottleneck calculators often do not account for CPU cache. If you want to play at 1440p or 4K you would get better performance in most games from a more powerful GPU (e.g. RX 6950 XT or RX 7900 XT) and a cheaper CPU such as a Ryzen 7 5700X, Core i5-13400, or Ryzen 5 7600. Having a more powerful CPU is less important at higher resolutions because the GPU is utilised more heavily and therefore less likely to be bottlenecked by the CPU. Games that use path tracing (e.g. Minecraft RTX or Cyberpunk 2077 in "overdrive" mode) would run a lot better on a Nvidia GPU such as an RTX 3080 or 4070 - this would be a bit more expensive than a 6800XT, has less VRAM, and only about the same speed in most games; but would be significantly faster at ray and path tracing, and faster at most GPU-accelerated workstation tasks. The RTX 4070 is also a lot more efficient than the RX 6800 XT (200W vs 300W), so is likely to save money in the long run, assuming you pay for your electricity (e.g. your electricity isn't included in your rent).
Bro honestly you are such a legend thank you so much, ive been doing research for weeks going through all the different options and cpu + gpu combos to the point where i would overthink things and everything you explained helped me so much. It answered all of the questions i had and more so thank you again. Im leaning more towards the better gpu and less powerful cpu, I’m currently studying engineering so while i mainly want it for 1440p gaming, i might look around at benchmarks for programs id use and find a suitable cpu for both needs Quick question, does the more cache on the 5800x3d affect fps or does it just merely help the game run better?
@@KnightmareUSA i have looked around but it was brought to my attention that people “cherry pick” games that give relatively better performance being an amd and radeon build and so the variety or comparisons of benchmarks i come across are apparently misleading
@@-uxm-1222 There's nothing wrong with cherry picking games with good performance, if what is shown is accurate to the setup mentioned, the settings used are clear, and the games are relatively recent. You can always look up the same games with competing hardware that hovers around the same price range. Focus on checking out games you actually want to play. Many of the results I mention will show people playing ten to twenty popular games in various resolutions. Cpus are usually not utilised in full in gameplay tests, which is understable given most 3d games will lean on the gpu for performance, so with a relatively recent setup I would tend to go for the combo with the better graphics card. You can of course still update either cpu or gpu at a later date provided your power supply and motherboard can handle it
Hey Jason, This is Ur subscriber From India 🇮🇳. I love your videos n I have been watching them since I don't know like 1 year maybe as I wanted to build a PC for myself your channel has educated me a lot about PC building, what can go wrong, what is to be considered and all. I have been waiting from past 1.5 years now to build my PC so that the prices come down ( but they seem to go nowhere now 🥲), so Im stuck with this decision and even feel like I Should just build it now cause I feel it's right time and the prices may not go down further. I'm still a Civil Engineering student and This is my first build so My budget was about $1200 roughly (1 Lakh rupees ) for full build seeing all the price I would really like to stick with this budget but I would like to convince my parents to increase it upto maybe $1825 (1.5 Lakh rupees). I do regular gaming and even work on CAD and 3D modeling stuff related to Civil Engg Works and I think I wanna go with Intel i7-13700k CPU. I really need help with these things and I think ur the one to help me out with this. I don't wanna over spend but I don't want me to be swapping parts without being future proofed without breaking my mom 😅🥲 cause it's like one time investment to my mom cause. Please help. Im stuck, should I consider issues with VRAM size, budgeting, should I wait till June or July... I can still wait for prices to drop. Ur help would mean a lot for ur Subscriber From 🇮🇳India ❤😊.
$6k guy should just go to a boutique system integrator like Falcon Northwest. At that price budget it makes way more sense for a first time builder with little to no experience.
Was wondering why for the 6000$ build you went with the corsair hx1200? I read that it's not ATX 3.0 and doesn't come with an adapter for the 4000 series. Is this not a concern? Thanks!
I absolutely adore this series, it's not only educational but also entertaining. And huge bonus for Ambrosius and cat memes, my cats loving heart approves ;) I do have a question tho, I'm planning on building my first pc and I've already picked parts but I'm still hesitant about some of them. I chose ryzen 7 5700x and radeon 6650 xt but I'm afraid that the gpu might be too weak for the cpu. I'm not sure whether I should just wait to make more money and then buy 6700x or I can stay with the current choice. I don't plan on playing anything in 1440p (I don't have big enough monitor and not gonna buy bigger one anytime soon) so it's not that important. I'm also not sure if psu 650w would be enough for these two and other stuff, I've been thinking about choosing more powerful one like 750w Some help would be appreciated c:

Hey Jason, you mentioned you used one of the LS series coolers from deep cool. As someone who bought one recently, how do you keep the mirrored surface on the pump head clean? Mine seems to be collecting dirt/dust on its surface that look like smudges which don't make sense in a closed case. Love your videos, thanks!

7600x am5 650 board minimum. Better resale for the 7600x over the non x with a better upgrade path for a newer Ryzen. 620 board is the equivalent of the £40 intel board. You can get good package deals for processor and MB now. Avoid 620 mb.
The only thing left is my monitor...but I always use a Sceptre (non smart) TV for the width I needed... I found the Model I wanted (42") for $125... The price got slashed in half from two years ago... The current one is a 36" and...I believe...it's on it's last legs...
(I think you mean B660 which is an intel board). 12th and 13th gen Intel CPUs will support either DDR4 or DDR5 based on the motherboard you buy. When you buy the board, it either runs DDR4 or DDR5 (but never both). Both 600 and 700 series motherboards in the B and Z series (along with H670/H770) will support DDR5 as long as you buy the DDR5 version (not the DDR4 version). See our Best motherboard for 13th gen intel video for more.
Seems like my original comment got removed, but here's some of my data regarding FSR 2 mods in Minecraft: 6850M XT (mobile 6750XT, but very close in real world to desktop) at 4K = 34.6fps 6850M XT at 1440p = 55.1fps 680M (2022 APU) at 1080p = 23.7fps 680M at 900p = 30.7fps 680M at 720p = 36.7fps All of these measurements are with FSR 2 modded over DLSS, "Performance" (half resolution) mode. So you definitely can run Minecraft DXR on AMD, even the iGPUs if you keep resolution in check. But all of this requires you use a 3rd party installer and launcher for Minecraft Bedrock, which while great for tinkerers, is not ideal for those who just want to game without non-sense. The latter should be sure to get Nvidia for the time being.
@@MickenCZProfi psa: even if you don't have bios flashback, you can (in most instances) update the bios with the old cpu, than swap cpu's and have it boot first time. @@PCBuilderChannel my current build is 5600x with a 2070super with a 750w PSU. Kust ai dont know do I need to change my psu or buy a 1000w or 850w but I check out ur video thanks for the link
5700XT for under 150 USD from a good seller would be solid. If it's more than that I'd scrap together what it takes to get a 6600... I might try to pull that off at 150 usd as well
@@kelley09162 yeah 150 is a great deal for it, I personally just like new components over used is the only reason I'd consider trying to find 50 bucks. If the 5700XT was 150 new I'd slam dunk wind mill buy it
The CPU is my only component left in my new AM5 build. The motherboard is the ASUS B650E-F (got a great price). Given that I’m a first time gamer, which CPU would you recommend for me, the Ryzen 5 7600x or the Ryzen 7 7700x? Is the 7700x worth the extra $100? Thanks.
What do you think is the best configuration for 10 fans in a pc (3 aio fans 7 case fans) i have been looking for a video but its too complicated for me
I'm currently working on an 8 fan system...(6 Phanteks to go with the case and two cheaper ones on the Vetroo V5 cooler)... Just waiting on my kickstarter chip to arrive today...
So I work in mental health with youth and i travel a lot for my job. I want to build a compact pc to travel with and do not want a laptop. I want to use the hyte revolt 3 but am unsure about the included psu. What do you think Jason? I want to spend about $600 and 12th gen intel. I already have the cpu. Also, what gpu would you recommend? 1080p good settings. Thanks Jason.
i noticed how alot of gaming builds, including higher end pc build all pretty much use a ryzen 5 series cpu, or anything equviliant. Is there any need to get more cores for gaming cpu's or is it only for streaming and video recording?
Couple of videos for you, start with our PC Parts Explained to learn about core counts. Then check out How to Pick PC Parts 2023 to identify your build goals/needs. From there you can check out our recent 5600 build guide video if that still feels like the CPU for you
No it isn't and neither is the 980 Pro because of their cost. Unless you need those fast speeds there's no reason to get them as there are other really good SSDs for less.
If you have the money for it without it impacting your GPU choice sure, but remember you don't want to be overspending on parts that won't affect performance costing you parts that do, like your CPU and GPU
Dude it's just amazing how much more performance you get at the high end with AMD and Radeon.. The new Radeon Cards are fast at straight Raster.. Like super fast.. But they are closer to the 30 series in RT.. It is what it is.. But Honestly unless you have a 4090 you would have to use upscaling trickery to get 4090 level RT... Also I have done minecraft with RT on a 6800XT just fine with adjusted settings..
AMD has never been more compelling than now. The CPUs are good. The GPUs are good. And both have bargain options all the way to Godzilla options. I get why people groan "oh it's yet another AMD build" but there are reasons why that's the case.
@@marcasswellbmd6922 Absolutely. Still remember the first GeForce 2 from some company nobody knew, Nvidia. Ha. Oldest working GPU I still have is an EVGA 8800GT which was considered a powerhouse at the time. Today's cards are light years beyond.
There is this wall with some Nvidia People that you just can't get through.. And I don't think that it's fanboyism. I think it's Branding and Most of all What People Are Used too. If you are used to an ASRock Board Or AMD BIOS, Your Next Board will probably be an ASRock Like Me.. It's Just the way it is.. We are all about comfort and what we are used too.. AMD did Manage to steal some people away from Intel and Nvidia over the last 7 years.. I am one of them actually.. (I would never use anything but Intel) before Ryzen came out.. I did Use ATI card's back in the day though, Before AMD even took them over.. And Now I have an All AMD PC it's kinda wild..
It will also depend on your budget, what you want to run well, and what you consider high fps. Ray tracing (esp path tracing) and very high fps generally don't mix unless you go for the higher end nvidia cards, or don't mind cutting corners with dlss fsr xess and lowering in game settings from maximum. For 1440p only, and not wanting to waste too much, then you'd probably be looking at the mid range cards. Without ray tracing I'd go for an amd 6800xt card or above, for ray tracing I'd go for nvidia which generally fares better, probably a 3080 or 4070, or better. If you want your card to last and play future games, consider focusing on getting a card with at least 16gb or more of gpu vram. Pick a game or software you really want to perform well and on here look up a combination of Game, Cpu, Gpu for user tests, and watch more than one channel to ensure accuracy

@@davidhodge0201 I don't know 3090 is so expensive compared yo anything new
1,800$ USD for a 3090ti in 2023... these retailers have zero shame.
Right??
they’re not retailers, they’re most likely third party sellers (aka scalpers) on amazon or newegg that bought a bunch of GPUs at high prices back in 2021-22 and absolutely refuse to lose money on them. they will hold on to their GPUs until the end of time if it means they have a small chance of not losing most of their scalper money. i guess that strategy kinda works since there’s at least one person that was ready to spend $1800 on a 3090 Ti lol
@@nathanlarson6535 They're still retailing it, idc about the likely sketchy either way storefront they maintain. lol
@@x8jason8x really? sold and shipped by amazon or the official board partners themselves? that’s crazy
(ALSO I went AMD because I'm more familiar with it over Intel but I'll be doing some more research cause I'd like to learn more about Intel)
Thank you so much for sending in your list! Glad we could help (:
It's crazy how much know-how you squeeze into these videos, both market knowledge as well as technical knowledge. Even though I feel like I know a decent amount about DIY PCs, it feels like I always learn at least something from these!

Potentially yea, could be but on the other hand, there are so so many people out there, that have way too much money and actually no clue! Or no time and thinking to themselves that the most expensive stuff will always get them the most.

So disgusting.

hello Jason!
just two things to the "Godzilla" build.
1st: your concern about how multiple 1440p monitors can be handled by even the 4090. got an Inno3D X3 OC in my rig, with 3x32" 1440p Samsung G5, and in every circumstances that GPU beast can handle it easily. :)
2nd: if someone who's doing mostly gaming on the PC, and also a 1st time builder I wouldn't suggest the 7950/7900X3D CPUs, because of additional drivers and tools what are required to stop the 2nd CCD during games. it's just an additional point what may go wrong. 7800X3D is a better choice. IMHO!
Thanks for sharing!
Question? Is there a minimum amount of heat pipes for an amount of CPU cores? example:6 core CPU need at least 4-6 heat pipes cooler etc...
Better for gaming but not for productivity, but if it was a gaming build I go that route

Thanks so much for all your advice and for helping me get my wife off of my rig! ;)
Doesn't that system handle medium or high settings for that game with 60+ FPS? (Without ray tracing)
Amazing! So glad we could help and you have a peaceful gaming household again (;
First build should definitely go with the 4070 Ti. Gets good raytracing and 1440p and saves $200.
Hey Jason. How it's going?)
Watching your BMB series for a while and came up with an idea for another series.
Take care.
Thanks for the suggestion! Hope you are having a great weekend!
I don't know that I would recommend the 7950 X3D or 7900X3D because in testing reviewers have found them to perform a lot worse in productivity then the normal X variants because of their custom firmware, and the gains in gaming don't seem equal to the losses.
BOOST MY BUILD TIME we love to see it :D TY for the video team!
Thanks Benjamin!! Hope you are having a great week!
Should be good!
I'd love to have you look at my build but partpicker wants me to register which is pointless for one build.
I haven't chosen the PS or GPU yet but I've got a few components:
Ryzen 7950x
Corsair H150i cooler
Asus Rog STRIX B650-A mobo (because the newest ones - B670 series - seem to have network issues from all the reviews I've read)
Corsair Vengeance 64gb 5200 (might return this for the 6k)
Samsung 980 2tb M.2 gen4 SSD (x2) Can't find any Gen5
ASUS TUF GT501
Win11 Home
I'll be using my existing monitors.

How big of a difference does bottlenecking make for fps ? Im thinking of paring a 6800xt with a Ryzen 9 5900x as it bottlenecks the least or should i rather invest in a cheaper cpu like a 5600x and get a 6950xt ?
I would go 5700X and 6950XT if you can afford it. Otherwise the 5600X and 6950XT is good.
Im leaning more towards the better gpu and less powerful cpu, I’m currently studying engineering so while i mainly want it for 1440p gaming, i might look around at benchmarks for programs id use and find a suitable cpu for both needs
Quick question, does the more cache on the 5800x3d affect fps or does it just merely help the game run better?
Actually ordered one of the Z790 Pro RS mobos. As far as DDR5 boards go, here in Norway they can quickly get very expensive.
In the USA at least, Corsair is not legally allowed to void your warranty because you removed a heatsink.
Really great change on that last build. That was impressive changes and still kept fantastic specs.
Thank you! And thanks for watching
$6k guy should just go to a boutique system integrator like Falcon Northwest. At that price budget it makes way more sense for a first time builder with little to no experience.
@@zingwilder9989 I had the same thought. It felt like a meme list. The motherboard and GPU selection were quite glaring red flags.
Was wondering why for the 6000$ build you went with the corsair hx1200? I read that it's not ATX 3.0 and doesn't come with an adapter for the 4000 series. Is this not a concern? Thanks!
I absolutely adore this series, it's not only educational but also entertaining. And huge bonus for Ambrosius and cat memes, my cats loving heart approves ;)
I do have a question tho, I'm planning on building my first pc and I've already picked parts but I'm still hesitant about some of them.
I'm also not sure if psu 650w would be enough for these two and other stuff, I've been thinking about choosing more powerful one like 750w
Some help would be appreciated c:
I'd go 5600 with that GPU myself (:
Does the 7900 GPU fit inside this case ?
I recently built my first pc with a 6800 on a mid tower case and it's pretty close after fitting my radiator on the front of the case.
I had my pc built already when I ordered it without gpu card, where do I find the cables that I plug it in to when I have placed it?! Are they just hanging somewhere or do I need to plug them out of somewhere then plug it into the gpu someone help please!
That 6k build become really cool build.... Dammm i didn't know that 4tb sticks already existed... Thnks for these amazing videos.... thanks to you i made my pc after 9 years living in france.... thank you very much Jason and greatings to Ambrosius😊
The cat says hello!
New to PC building, just started with Fractal Design Meshify XL ATX Full Tower that someone gave me and just bought the EVGA X570 Dark mother board. Not that into RGB but some is fine the tower does have a smoked glass panel, will be used for photo/video editing, CAD & gaming. I am thinking to add the AMD Ryzen 9 5900X or the 5950x CPU but after that I am at a loss. Budget ?, $1,000 to $2,000+ish the lower the better but I want to buy once cry once, any help from you to populate this board to it's full potency at this budget would be appreciated from me. Thanks, Brian
Been watching your vids and they have helped me build my very first mid range pc. Still waiting for the Cpu cooler to be delivered.
I got the lian li 216 Rgb case
- Rog Strix B550-A gaming
- Ryzen 7 5700x
- Gigabyte 6750x
- FSP 1000w Hydro G Pro PSU
- T-force 32gb Ram
I hope I made the right buying decisions. 😅 Only plan play between 1080p or 1440p.
Please do a video on building a HTPC for 4k HDR video. I have a i5 9600k/GTX 1050Ti combo that is not cutting the mustard. Too many dropped frames. Need to upgrade badly. Please help!
Putting together a first pc with some secondhand parts from a friend and the only part left for me to pick up is a GPU, being paired with a ryzen 3 3100, any suggestions?
I have that Motherboard lol. Was a gift from someone who didn't know better knowing i was building a new computer. Good enough :P it's heavy af for a board for sure and WAY more than I need cause I don't even really OC too much. Just a few things.
I'm big on audio but couldn't justify those higher prices when I did my build. What external DAC would you recommend? Could you do a video detailing options on how to get better audio?
Okay but what if you get a 4800mhz stick for cheap and bump those clocks up (after doing some research ofc)?
Hey Jason, you mentioned you used one of the LS series coolers from deep cool. As someone who bought one recently, how do you keep the mirrored surface on the pump head clean? Mine seems to be collecting dirt/dust on its surface that look like smudges which don't make sense in a closed case.
Love your videos, thanks!
Hello! I haven't had that issue yet but I'd use a soft dry cloth
Hey @PC Builder, great vids! Btw, do you think the 5950x pairs well with the 3090 ti suprim x oc version?
A content creator/reviewer for PCs that gives me the vibe Doug DeMuro does for car reviews. Only "Quirks" are missing :)
How can that last build be that expensive and not include any water cooling, when the owner wanted water cooling. Especially since Corsair provides that.
Hey Jason, I really enjoy watching your fix my build series and was hoping you might be able to give me some advice. I have bought 3 pieces for a new build and am just looking for your suggestion on a CPU/Motherboard. I have so far gotten MSI RX 6750 XT MECH2X GPU , a Corsiar 4000D Airflow case and a WD Black SN770 SSD and am struggling to decide on AMD or Intel I am happy to spend about $1000 AUD if that helps. PC will be only for gaming and 1080p or 1440p.
I would look AMD for the CPU. Maybe a 5600 and a B550.

what do think about having reyzen 5 5500 and rtx 2060s or go with i3 12100f

Good budget combos, I'd check the system requirements of the games you play and the apps you use. Also check out our recent GPU Market Update video to see if you can snag a better GPU
Hi Jas! Off topic for you, my build is b650m-a + 7600x, now i've bought gskill z5 with intel xmp (yes i know AMD work with EXPO) i make a mistake, but tomorrow i will recive the pack.. what do you think about that? what's the best choice take or less?
What do you think of the new A620 boards for AM5 to pair them with a Ryzen 7600?
They're not the best but it's nice they exist
7600x am5 650 board minimum. Better resale for the 7600x over the non x with a better upgrade path for a newer Ryzen. 620 board is the equivalent of the £40 intel board. You can get good package deals for processor and MB now. Avoid 620 mb.
We actually go over them some in our CPU Market Update video we launched this morning!
The only thing left is my monitor...but I always use a Sceptre (non smart) TV for the width I needed... I found the Model I wanted (42") for $125... The price got slashed in half from two years ago... The current one is a 36" and...I believe...it's on it's last legs...
Can we get a judgment on the HP 800 G2 elitedesk with full upgrades with an A2000?
Hang on I thought you needed a z790 board or a b650 to have support for ddr5 ram?
(I think you mean B660 which is an intel board). 12th and 13th gen Intel CPUs will support either DDR4 or DDR5 based on the motherboard you buy. When you buy the board, it either runs DDR4 or DDR5 (but never both). Both 600 and 700 series motherboards in the B and Z series (along with H670/H770) will support DDR5 as long as you buy the DDR5 version (not the DDR4 version). See our Best motherboard for 13th gen intel video for more.
Hello Jason, does the RTX 4070 bottlenecks the Ryzen 5 5600x? or could they go together?
That's a good combo
Good combo! See our 5600 build guide video from last week
Seems like my original comment got removed, but here's some of my data regarding FSR 2 mods in Minecraft:
6850M XT (mobile 6750XT, but very close in real world to desktop) at 4K = 34.6fps
6850M XT at 1440p = 55.1fps
680M (2022 APU) at 1080p = 23.7fps
680M at 900p = 30.7fps
680M at 720p = 36.7fps
All of these measurements are with FSR 2 modded over DLSS, "Performance" (half resolution) mode.
That's one hoss of a build. Awesome work Jason
Thank you! Hope you are having a great weekend!
If im not wrong, 7950x3d is mainly for gaming and does not perfor well enough compare to X varient. Please re9ly and correct me if im wrong.

Been using Silicon Power for a few years. m.2 and 2.5 SSDs all have held up well and way cheaper than others.
i just upgraded to a 6950xt from a 1660 super what cpu should i pair with it? currently have a 3600
If you have the budget for it I'd go 5800X3D. But 5600 or 5700X would be good too
would i need to upgrade my msi b450 tomahawk max motherboard? any recommendations?
You don't have to thats the beautiful thing (:
@@hiei1031 If it has Bios Flashback, no need to upgrade.
@@MickenCZProfi psa: even if you don't have bios flashback, you can (in most instances) update the bios with the old cpu, than swap cpu's and have it boot first time.
The exception is, that if your old cpu is really old, it could be that the new bios needed for your new cpu isn't supported anymore on the latest bios of the motherboard, so keep that in mind! (Most BIOS download pages will tell you what series of cpu's they support per BIOS revision.)
RT performance may be less but general rasterization will be significantly better. For $30-40 you could ditch the 4070 for a 6950xt.
Hi guys. Hopefully I can get answer here. I looking foreward to upgrade my gaming pc. I HAVE an Asus b550m-plus motherboard.. witch is the better choise for streaming and gaming at the same time over 240fps in competitive games? 5800xd3 with rx7900xtx or xt? I just dont know witch one to chose.. as mutc review I watch as mutch I dont know witch one to chose 😂😂😂😂😂

Do you think a used rx 5700 xt is a good choice for a Ryzen 5 5500? I've scrapped the 1660 ti idea and im trying to buy a 5700 xt now
Depends on what you can get the 5700 XT for, because you can get a new 6600 for $200.
5700XT for under 150 USD from a good seller would be solid. If it's more than that I'd scrap together what it takes to get a 6600... I might try to pull that off at 150 usd as well
@@SpoonHurler if you can get that for 150 it's a good choice.

Thanks.
I'd recommend the 7600X as I don't think the extra $100 is worth it for the 7700X.

What do you think is the best configuration for 10 fans in a pc (3 aio fans 7 case fans) i have been looking for a video but its too complicated for me
Depends on the case. See our Ryzen 7900X build from September as that had 10 fans in the Corsair 5000X case with a 360mm AIO.
I'm currently working on an 8 fan system...(6 Phanteks to go with the case and two cheaper ones on the Vetroo V5 cooler)... Just waiting on my kickstarter chip to arrive today...
hard to see any situation where that isn't comical overkill. I guess maybe if you have 2 360 aios, even then
So I work in mental health with youth and i travel a lot for my job. I want to build a compact pc to travel with and do not want a laptop. i noticed how alot of gaming builds, including higher end pc build all pretty much use a ryzen 5 series cpu, or anything equviliant. Is there any need to get more cores for gaming cpu's or is it only for streaming and video recording?
For gaming the GPU is the most important. Like Jason says get the best GPU you can while getting a CPU that won't bottleneck it.
@@kelley09162 so what is the point in getting more cores? What do cpu cores do?

Good budget build
I always notice u use 980 pros for storage or recommend them. Is the price for the 990 pro 2tb not worth it? Even if you have money for it?

I'm moving away from the laptop life and planning on building a gaming pc. Whats the best 1440p high fps ray tracing gpu to go with?
