- The Story behind Robby's Bizarro World:
This is the trailer for the forthcoming documentary on phenomenon Robby Valentine, shot several year ago when Robby was writing and recording his new album BIZARRO WORLD and had just moved back in with his mom to do all the recordings.
This trailer, (and the forthcoming documentary) is made by Marcel de Vré.

Robby... you have SO many fans outside your native land. Why isn't this at least released with English sub-titles? Your legions of fans in Japan, all over Europe, and other parts of the world would LOVE to see this. But releasing, even the trailer- without subtitles will massively limit any interest in what will surely be a fantastic documentary. :(

Wat ik zo mooi aan deze man vind is dat hij altijd trouw aan zichzelf is gebleven. En een wereld muzikant uiteraard.
Today I looked at this documentary for the second time. The first time was in 2014. My first thoughts on this documentary was "how on earth it is possible that such a brilliant musician is forced to be living with his mother". Luckily I know that he now is married to a wonderful woman, has a beautiful daughter and live no longer at his mother's place.
Robby Valentine is the most underestimated musician of our country and I find that hard to get. Unbelievable that one of the most talented multi instrumental musicians of the Netherlands had such a struggle to "survive" in the musical landscape. Luckily he never gave up and always kept fighting without doing concessions to his music.
For what it's worth: I will always support him and I find myself blessed to know his incredible music. That all said: I miss the live performance in general and those of Valentine particular. Hopefully the second half of 2021 will be a turning point.
Wow! Finally, the long awaited pre-view of a Robby Valentine documentary. From what I can tell so far, this is going to be awesome!!
I actually think he was a trendsetter. Now we have Muse, Placebo, and even back back then nobody made fun of The Cure. Guess Holland wasn't ready for it back then.
Hopefully, now they are. It is such a waste if you don't know this man's music!

Ik voel je frustratie Robby! Damn! Onbegrijpelijk dat je in Nederland niet gewoon in een Ziggo Dome staat! Je muziek is geniaal! Nederland echter te bekrompen! Keep it up, never give in en never give up!!!! Het tekent je dat je gewoon jezelf bent gebleven!
After seeing this guy live at Rockingham, I can only sayWOW!! Obviously talented, reminds me of Jim Steinman style. Keep Rocking and please do this documentary in English.

Dit is een zeldzaam talent met een wonderschoon muzikaal talent, GROTE klasse. Nederland zal ooit beseffen dat in navolging van Rembrandt, van Gogh er ook een Robby Valentine is. Miskend genie door de platenbazen van weleer.
I wanted to be a millionaire to show the whole world Robby Valentine's music. He is a genius! One of the greatest composers of this last decades. I am immensely grateful to have known his music.

Onbegrijpelijk hoe Nederland met zijn talenten omgaat. Je moet je hoofd ook echt geen millimetre boven het maaiveld van de grijze muizen uitsteken. Er moeten toch genoeg fans zijn om via een kickstarter of iets nieuwe projecten te financieren?
