I take comfort in knowing that I was one of, like, MILLIONS of kids who would run home from school to watch this. Ahhh, the childhood memories of a 34yo.
Of a 17yo too
Make that two of us Chris
dragon ball transcends time, i did it too and i’m still a teenager
i would watch this when it was on nicktoons each night was the best i would be excited to go to bed so i could watch it
Same.
That's why I'm still hanging that DBS will get better to the bitter end!! Lets GO!!!!
Credit should be given to Michael Lloyd Smith and Scott Morgan for the writing and composition of this very track. They worked at CakeMix Recordings / Faulconer Productions and are the true talent behind 90% of Faulconer Productions DBZ soundtrack. Bruce personally only was responsible for a few tracks early on when his music company took over DBZ in 1999.
Seriously, I can't watch dragon Ball z without this soundtrack.
Fouad the hedgehog I prefer funimation to Ocean Dub. But Ocean Dub theme was okay before the Frieza saga
yes you can just turn off audio lol
I haven't had my hands on an original copy of Dbz in a min but the other day I caught the episode where goku goes ssj3 for the first time and holy fuck when I tell you guys og dragonball z with bruce tracks is the shit!! Easily the goat anime
Fouad the hedgehog
So then you can’t watch the Saiyan/Namek sagas?
Straight up
Kids who grew up with Kai & super will never understand how lit this was

@@michaelbowen2343 Man. I was about to say that.
2:09 Best part. Feels heavenly, and always makes me think of that scene where the energy is coming from planet Earth.
Christ-like, when He raises His power and we join.

There's just something so deep and enriching about Bruce Faulconer's DBZ themes... So mysterious, so mystical, and yet when I listen, it feels like something I've waited for my whole life. Indescribable.
I could visualise the flowers, the fish, & whole planets giving Goku their energy. So epic. The world could use a Goku right now.
RAMMSTONE be a Goku.
Dbz is life ND Goku (kakarot) is really a true hero nd my true hero for ever!!!!!
If only ki existed.
The irony is that ki technically does exist...but the mastery of that level in the show can only hope to be possible. So far, I believe it can set certain things alight(Paper for instance).

1:37 is when I absolutely lose my shit. Favorite part.
exactly
Same here. They actually used it in the GameBoy games (legacy of Goku 2) Called "Areas of Action". Love it.

2:03 - 3:00 I love this part SO much
It's so calming and soothing!
I could meditate to it.
sirartist1 This was always my favorite part too. Mystical. ❤
That was my favorite part when I originally saw it on tv in the early 2000's. It made me feel warm and calm for some reason.
It always felt like the entire Universe was desperately feeding Goku all the energy he needed in order to destroy Frieza. Like all of life itself knew this was their last chance to survive and that they would probably meet their end soon, but wouldnt give up without a fight. Something spiritual about it I cant place my finger on
4:12: singing that sounds holy, the voices of the collected human spirits.
4:31: the serenity of nature, the energy from the nature
Around 5:20 the focus goes to the reality, the danger that is lingering.
5:50: the spirits win.
Damn! That was deep man, nice job! 👍🏻
Zephyr these parts of this track are probably some of the most powerful music in the whole show.
I went to the store and spent $103.47 to buy all 3 VHS tapes of this before it ever aired on TV. Money well spent for a lifetime of epic memories
When I first watched episode 109 of Dragonball Super, I immediately paused the moment Goku went to do his spirit bomb and put on this theme. Nothing will ever beat Bruce's theme while Goku is charging a spirit bomb.
true that why i came
Super is trash lol
SSJ Broly yeah it is. The only redeeming arc is the t.o.p. But stop shitting on it because you don’t like it.

This guy is musical genius, a true artist.
Blessings and blessings to all kindred spirits/followers of DBZ
Bruce Faulconer only did a little bit of the American DBZ score himself despite getting all the credit. Mike Smith, Scott Morgan, and Julius Dobos are the REAL geniuses of American DBZ. This song in particular, the first half was by Mike Smith and the second half (the amazing heavenly sounding stuff) was by Scott Morgan.

This is why crediting is important! So much disinformation over the years with Faulconer getting all the credit. You really have to dig to find the true composers.
2:03 is so majestic...I can listen to that part for hours.
When the bass drops at 1:37 I just start bopping like crazy
I like this theme, the beginning gives you the attitude of triumph, it says to you "yeah, we're going to get this thing together then take this guy out". It is then followed by majestic music that says "behold the power of the spirit" (0:25). Next that triumphant atmosphere comes back even greater than before (1:39). Around 2:05 you feel the energy of all living things coming together. 2:50 all that energy and power is being absorbed into the hero, the savior. 3:00 more triumphant music. At 3:40, a feeling of doubt begins to linger. "Can we really do this?". 4:10 comes and screams out "Yes! The time has come! It's Over!". By the time 4:30 comes around, the great power and intensity is muted by the innocence and benevolence of the contributors as the foe slowly beings to fade away. At 5:20, the hero breathes deeply, exhausted from the sheer power so suddenly released. 5:45 Everyone can finally feel it, freedom, the battle is won.
Absolutely, this music says more than a 1000 words. It's so extremely well thought out and worked out

It took me YEARS to finally learn the name of this soundtrack.
Whenever it plays you just knew the good guys were about to pull off something amazing!
1:37 is the anime equivalent of a beat drop.
The part @1:37 will always remind me of the scene where goku begins the spirit bomb on namek. Water starts to sprout out of the ground and frieza is not impressed.
I never grew up with this theme as a kid but this truly is something else. I have a lot of to catch up honestly
Hate to be that guy, but the japanese music always bored me. THIS THEME AND BRUCE ARE AMAZING!!!
Agreed. The Japanese music was soooo slow and out of pace with the action. It all sounded so samey too for the most part. Same fucking instruments. Whereas Faulconer's studio could do instrument sounds as well as electronic sounds, so it was far more versatile and each song was TRULY unique. Hell, listen to 'Nail's gift' theme from Faulconer...it sounds so meditative, calming, and uniquely unidentifiable. It just sounds like heaven. There is nothing like it from the Japanese OST. The Japanese OST was good for the more methodical Dragon Ball, but for Z, its just terrible.
well fucking said man, the complaint i hear a lot is that the music is constantly playing and it's like too much, but for me it set the tone majority of the time, whereas silence would have made the scene a lot weaker. They even had THEMES for gods sake and versatility with genres like you said, you had the epic standoff music that intensifies the staredowns then you had the badass fight music with guitar then it could calm down to happy cheery music when it's just them chilling at Bulma's or something. The Japanese soundtrack doesn't really deliver as much emotion as the american one did. With all due respect though I'm not bashing it. Although props to DBS for having really good music, hell even some of it reminds me of faulconer a bit!
@Merciless Freak Man, you are such an idiot 3 months ago
The Falconer Productions music does fit the Z series nicely. I think Z had this idea of overcoming evil and power levels never before seen that makes Falconer music fit. However, with Super having all of these Universes with varying Power Levels, that awe seems hard to capture with the Falconer Productions soundtrack. I wish his group would make at least one more soundtrack for Super to see how it would work.
@@mysterycupofjoe2670 Falconer and the others probably won't come back for the DBS, probably because of the lawsuit...
Faulconer's music is epic. This theme was perfect for the moment. It created a desperate tension, but also some lingering sense that there is a light forming at the end of the tunnel. Beautiful.
