For the high question: no. Not because we can't create or haven't created the computing power for the calculations, but because we don't know everything and we don't know what we don't know(unknown unknowns). With computers being dumb, they'll only lead to the outcome that our flawed programming and incomplete data suggests.
This right here. Why do some people keep thinking LLMs have a bunch of answers that we don’t? They are using our flawed information, though they may. recognize patterns we can’t see.
@@zd4w9 I honestly just think it comes from not knowing how computers work. They think that computers can do anything because they have access to all of the data stored on the internet while not realizing that they're only as capable as their most capable programmer and record keeper...and those ppl aren't omniscient. If the program can't be written or written effectively and the data can't be accessed the computer will be incapable of computing the problem.
Maye has boss fans. Man, I just wanna go earthing with some of y'all on fresh cut grass while watching the sunset and doing Tai Chi. Let's do it. Barber Park? O Town? 12/24 maybe 1745. Hit me up, let's hang out and be human. Thanks
I do not lament those that choose evil as second nature but rather those who were on the path of Good that were mislead by the vain, the overly greedy, and the arrogant. Good people are convinced that doing evil is good each and every day and indeed, it is the only way to make them do such things. Evil people on the other hand, inherently prioritize the self above the group to excess, and so it follows that they too believe they are doing good when their very nature is evil. Please take time today to enjoy a good meal with people you admire or that admire you, if you are so fortunate. Your time is all you really have, and it is very short in the scheme of things. May I recommend a pizza.
Guess I got a couple of books to check out. I think the only difference between randomness and chaos is scope. If the process of chaos can be explained in hindsight, randomness is our perception of actions/processes beyond our capacity to comprehend at this time.
@@CharlesSmithchkvto what is perception? And how or what is chaotic or chaos? What is scope as you see it to be? Represented by what? It’s as if we were given the means and created the conditions out of the means developed through time, that only appears in a state of what is present. Ahh the unknown, unknowns. The void that exists and we make up what it represents. Or perceive it to be… how do we trust our own thoughts, what is trust. What if we are the internet… ahh, the matrix.
The only thing I took from this is what my therapist tells me, without saying it, directly: “Tell people, what they want to hear.” I’ve explained to her, for years, that this is the on thing that I can’t stand, for people to do to me. Women have a different social dynamic, so this doesn’t apply to men. Women like to conform to their social group’s expectations. Men prefer to challenge each other. That’s why a man is only as successful as the people he surrounds himself with. At first, I took this the wrong way but as I write this, I see that she’s speaking from perspective, so she’s not wrong (nor is my therapist) but to do this, as a man, feels disingenuous and could actually lead to you being ostracized. I choose to continue to operate, independently of others. I feel I would be compromising my integrity, as well as my morality, through what I consider to be dishonest behavior.
your high question was posed in the TV show DEVS with Nick Offerman, where AI had reached that point of computing reality (amongst many other things), great show that wasn't pushed well. From the creator of Ex Machina iirc
Progress and Poverty: An Inquiry into the Cause of Industrial Depressions and of Increase of Want with Increase of Wealth: The Remedy is an 1879 book by social theorist and economist Henry George.
Playing the game makes me feel like a shitty human. The best I did at a job was when I was a complete ass and that didn’t make feel good about myself. But when I’m a meek person people walk over me. Idk what to do….
Maybe find some balance?? You can stick up for yourself without being a shitty person. Oh and sometimes you have to pick your battles. Best I got for now.
Hate Inc was interesting, but as always, it fails to do anything beyond the gold standard of books about the topic, "Manufacturing Consent" by Chomsky and Ed Herman. I think he tried to hitch his wagon to that better book by interviewing Chomsky for the book. MC is still better and relevant. I'd pass on Taibi. Also I'm sorry but Steven Pinker is a complete joke. He's a glorified cheerleader who tells people "shut up, it could be worse, and actually it's good! Don't look around you! Don't read for yourself or other people's accounts and history, just trust me!" He's also another Epstein flyer and really wants people to forget about it. Bought and paid for by billionaires to say "everything is fine! Everything is fine!!" over and over to people.
