  • Hello friends,
    This video is related to all Civil Engineering students who wants to learn design of steel structure. In this video i have showed how can you design a Plate Girder. Plate girder is generally used in bridge construction. they are provide to carry and distribute the load from bridge. Plate girder can carry heavy loads, they are built to carry heavy loads. That's why we have to design a perfect plate girder to carry required load.
    In this video I have shown all the important steps and important formulas to design a Plate Girder. There are generally two types of questions asked in exam the first one is Design the cross section Plate Girder and the second one is Design the Stiffener of Plate Girder. In this videos I have explained the first method, which will be ask in exam for 14 to 16 marks.
    The design steps of Plate Girder is as follow-
    1) Find out the factored load and total UDL
    2) Find the shear force and bending moment
    3) Find the size of Plate Girder
    i) Find appropriate depth of girder
    ii) Find required flange area
    iii) Assume flange width
    iv) Thickness of flange
    4) Total depth of Girder
    5) Section classification
    6) Check for moment carrying capacity
    7) Check for web capacity
    8) Check for shear buckling strength for simple past critical method
    9) check for shear force corresponding to buckling
    By following above steps you can design a Plate Girder

    Oh sir sunoooo
    d = 14.12m
    d = 14120 mm aaega na ?
    Itni lambi depth 😢 ?
    Kuch to gadbad he

      You can put. 5 x (5821.87x10^6÷250)^0.33 then you can directly get your ans in mm... simply convert 5821.87kn-m to 5821.87 N/mm..👍

      Sir mere ko 6127.27 x 10^6 aa raha hai toh 10^6 nahi likha toh chalega kya?

      @@user-ic7od2yp4x 6127.27 x 10⁶ N/mm main hai to convert it =6127.27 KN/M it's right 👍
