Jun Guo, loose the lift kit, add 3.0 fox racing shocks(aftermarket) . Level front by placing coil on middle perch and ride it with your 35s . No need for more, unless you want to go 37s then some wide body fenders needed. 😎

The price in the video was what Toyota told us is the price of the vehicle as tested. There now seems to be some dispute if that price included the TRD Off-Road package. We’ll confirm with Toyota. However, pricing we received at the time of publishing was as listed for the “Limited TRD Off-Road” as tested plus Panorama moonroof.

I completely agree with you. My boss purchased a beautiful GMC Sierra AT4 a year ago. It's been in the shop at least 5 times and some of those were for more than a week. That's just not acceptable to me. I have a 2010 Honda Accord with 160,000 miles and it has never spent a night in a shop. My previous Toyota's were also extremely reliable. The skidding and traction control issue is another reason why a front Torsen diff is better then a front locker. It won't allow one front tire to skid so the traction control will never cut power. This is one way the LC200 was better then the new LC300 and the Sequoia. I wonder if Toyota will sell one at the dealers like Ford does for the F-150 through it's Performance Parts Catalog.

I was excited about this when they first releasedt photos, but the more I see it, the less I like it. Especially in this Limited trim. That it has no all-wheel drive mode makes zero sense. Even a Jeep Wrangler offers an AWD/ full-time 4WD mode. I think that's going to be a big negative to those in areas that get a lot of snow and want and all weather vehicle. Remembering to switch in and out of 4WD as road conditions change is kind of a PITA, and why all wheel drive crossovers are so popular. Crazy thing is, the first gen that was released in 2001 had the all-wheel drive mode.

Certain types on mud are impassible when soaked. All you’d get to see is us spinning tires and tearing up the course - but ultimately going nowhere.

@@drivingsports Fun video, but I look forward to when you take this on your course that you designed so people can get a good perspective how this vehicle compares to others. This video seemed a little too promotional the way Toyota pretested everything

The true wheel downgrade is that we aren’t offered 17s with more sidewall.
Anyone who’s purchasing this is going to want to go with BFG KO2, KM2, or Cooper ATW, maybe General Grabber X3 tires (If you’re Expedition Overland).
You want larger tires to go over rough terrain and reduce vibration and harshness by airing down. Also, with more tire, if you hit a speed bump, parking barrier, or curb, you won’t damage your wheels.
    And now this.
The danger's of Toyota's Traction control system including ABS.
Not only will the system reduce throttle, it will actually:
    1) engage braking if it finds there to be too much tire slippage even in the middle of a standard turn,
    2) disable braking if you're on sand and don't have traction
Let's give these two major SAFETY ISSUES some due attention.
1 - If you're driving, say on Highway 1 towards Gorda and Prewitt Ridge, you'll encounter areas along highway 1 that twist and turn. Even at the speed limit, Toyota's wheel speed sensors will notice enough difference if you corner hard enough. This happens in the Toyota Tacoma, 2nd and 3rd generation, This happens in the Toyota 4runner, (4th and 5th generation) and it happens in the Land Cruiser 200 series. All the vehicle's I've tested.
When the brakes engage, it causes an uncontrollable understeer loss of traction. This is why YOU NEVER BRAKE IN THE MIDDLE OF A F***ING TURN. Because not only will you lose traction, you lose control. And in this specific situation, your vehicle is FORCED past the center divider into ONCOMING TRAFFIC.
Toyota has created a death trap and an unsafe condition for not only the owner/operator/driver and occupants, but also for passengers of oncoming cars! This is unacceptable but it's been the same issue for almost TWO DECADES.
2 - Let's say you're in low traction terrain, be it snow in the winter, sand around pismo beach dunes, or rocky pebbly terrain in saline valley. If you encounter a loss of traction, Toyota will turn on ICE mode.
Ice mode is when the traction control system makes the assumption that your given brake input (brake pedal force) greatly exceeds the traction the tires have. On the handful of times this might be useful, it might help on ice, but you should be using chains in the first place.
In the other situations such as:
    a) muddy terrain hill descent
    b) sandy dunes about to go over the sheer side of the sand dune
    c) hitting the brakes when you toast a turn on a dirt road and are about to go off the side of a cliff
    YOU WILL DIE.
    This is no exaggeration.
The proper mode for sand, dirt, mud, rocky is for the tires to lock up completely. The reason being that this will force your vehicle to dig into the ground, eventually lose ground clearance, and maximize the surface area for braking by using your vehicle's underchassis.
It is no joke when i say literally that Toyota is trying to kill you.

How is 2WD better for towing? 2WD vehicles only have better towing rating because they weight less. Which you can't say about a part time 4WD. And every advantage you listed applies to Selectable 4WD vehicles with the 4-auto setting. Cause they have 2wd settings too. The only 2 real advantages to part time 4wd is that it is cheaper and more durable.
