John Hammond (Richard Attenborough) summons chaos theorist Ian Malcolm (Jeff Goldblum) to his home with some startling information -- while nearly everything at his Jurassic Park had been destroyed, his engineers happened to have a second site, where other dinosaurs were kept in hiding. It seems the dinosaurs on the second island are alive and well and even breeding; and Hammond wants Malcolm to observe and document the reptiles before Hammond's financiers can get to them.

After all, he lives in New York, so he’s on the other side of the country right then, and he’s seen travelling by subway at the start, even though he’s being recognised. So I doubt he could afford a car at that point, he probably fell behind on the payments on his when he went from tenure to unemployed overnight.
If he had one in the first place, that is. I’m a Brit but I imagine that, much like London, owning a car in New York is more trouble than it’s worth. Too much traffic, not enough parking spaces and a good public transport network so you don’t need one anyway.

They were trying to lead the Rex back to the docks. If they accelerated away from it, it would give up the chase and continue its rampage until it was killed by the authorities.

It looked more like 20-25 MPH, recent estimates say 20MPH was probably the average top speed of most adult rexes, so despite Hammond saying they clocked T. rex at 32mph it's only ever shown the rex going at around 20, because honestly rex would have looked ridiculous if it ran 32mph, wouldn't look heavy at all.

unrealistic though, as a Trex would not roar. Their real sound would be far more terrifying though.
It's why I come back to these videos
@Kyte Ansarty They were only tampered with the genetics of frogs. Otherwise they didn’t have any other animal’s DNA inserted to fill the sequences. They didn’t actually know how it sounded like, but for the thrill factor they gave it a roar. In reality it would make these low pitched growls that you could hear and almost “feel” because of the intensity of the sound.

Many may have thought the same, but let me say it again: This somehow looks more real than most of today's CGI.
Maybe the lack of glossy effects added to the realism.
I feel like modern cgi puts too much detail in it which makes it appear almost unrealistic looking. The hobbit trilogy and some of the marvel avengers movies are a perfect example of that

It looks way better when it’s a model with lighting put on it and not a human covered in glitter
This really was the best part of the movie. Seeing the T-Rex rampaging through a city.
There is a book series called "The Dresden Files" where the main character, Harry Dresden is the only wizard in the world who advertises in the Yellow Pages. In the book "Dead Beat" he uses newly learned necromancy powers to actually revive Sue, the T-Rex on display in the Chicago Museum. Part of the joke to it as well is that he has a buddy of his, Waldo Butters, playing one of those big one-man-band drums to keep the T-Rex under control. In this series to control the undead you need a beat of some kind to replace the missing heartbeat of the subject you are controlling.
I’d never thought I’d find a Dresden Files comment on a Jurassic Park video.
