KUKA Innovation Award 2016 - Creating the Future Robotic World

KUKA regularly hosts the Innovation Award to serve both industry and academia, joining the two to help tackle some of the industry's most challenging applications in robotic automation.
For 2016, KUKA had dozens of entries from institutions around the world, resulting in six finalists. Each of the finalists tackles problems in creating flexible, easy-to-program, collaborative robotic automation solutions. All six of them were worthy entries. I want one of these to work with my 3D printer. Work robots have been around for 30 years. The revolution is the robot can be intuitively programmed by someone with no training in computer programming or robotics. That means a small business operator can buy one of these who has a plan for some simple task to assist an existing worker and free him up for more creative work.

I am using KR350 with computer via devicenet board for drilling on the wing of plane. When I move robot to one position from different direction it has 0.2 mm position error. I want to solve this problem but have no idea. How can I solve this problem?

Hi Prasanna, thanks for the question. KUKA Robots and equipment use KUKA software for programming. Most KUKA robots use our KUKA.WorkVisual platform, while all of our lightweight robots (e.g. LBR iiwa, the robot that is used in the Innovation Award) use the KUKA Sunrise.OS, which is based on Java.
