    I love the simplicity of this set-up. I think we try to overcomplicate things. Please do more of these videos.

    Ooo I love the magnet idea! I don't know why I haven't thought about using magnets before, I just use hooks or sticky tape. This seems a lot more efficient. Thanks for sharing!

    I'm very impressed with this! I was considering something to take with me on a backpack trip and was a little discouraged after seeing some suggestions with good but very expensive, heavy material or, on the other hand, light but weak and fragile material. Your solution combines a compact and easy-to-carry set-up with assured paper quality. The magnets' solution is actually very clever. Thanks for sharing with so much detail!

      It is such a relaxing place to paint :) I love the ducks especially, and I also love when there are lots of people out fishing. It reminds me of simpler times :)

      It's so fun! I have quite a few now (I really like Altoids, hahaha) and each has a different combination of colors in it. Love it!

    I was trying so hard not to laugh at the incident with your dogs lololl so cute!
    I've been trying to optimize my on-the-go kit. Since covid, I've been spending much more time painting in the outdoors rather than in cafes, etc. You gave us some great tips and inspiration! :) I'm using the Pocket Palette which is basically a business card-sized palette so I can have my standard 12-color set.

    With a little reshaping and creative placement you can get six half pans in the tiny tin. Thanks to Mind of Watercolor for that demo.

    If you went with the bigger Altoids tin you could have a bigger palette (additional blue and other colors as well.

    I have a MUCH bigger palette so mine isn’t as portable (the 14 half pan tin with thumb hook) as yours so I’m jealous of how portable your kit is

    Washi tape (for the border) would work on the size sketchbook you have.

    Enjoyed this very much. How do you travel back home with a wet sketch on your bike? I am doing as much minimalist stuff as possible.

      Fortunately watercolor pages dry pretty fast.. especially when you paint outside. And having a bit of sun and a good breeze also helps! :)

      Yes :) It is Ultramarine Blue, Naphthol Red, and Azo Yellow(x2)... they are all from M. Graham :)

    What are the precise color you use; blue, yellow and red?

      These colors are: Ultramarine blue, Perylene Red, and Hansa Yellow Medium. They are made by Daniel Smith and can be bought together as a set. Search for 'Daniel Smith Primary Set' wherever you purchase your art supplies (I usually find them on Jerry's Artarama)
