Dave, please don't listen to the haters who say don't listen to the new stuff. Metallica are still amazing and put out great material. I highly recommend 'Spit out the bone' and 'Moth into Flame' from their latest album. Absolute fire songs that have an older style to them
I don’t think “haters” is a fair label. I love Metallica like no one else, but there is a clear and abrupt style change following Justice and, to me, it wasn’t a change for the better. The new stuff isn’t horrible, but it’s not Metallica either.
@@tomwolfe6063 I think I will let Metallica decide what Metallica is. Yes there is a style difference but it is still great overall. I really love both new and old Metallica. I think if they didn't switch up their sound they would have gotten burnt out.
Metallica has some great songs on their last 2 albums in my opinion : spit out the bone, all nightmare long, the day that never comes, hardwired to name a few
This is their most full-on brutal non-stop thrashing song!! Playing this on drums nearly kills me!!! Bass is okay but my fingers are aching...lol The word to describe this song the best is - - - *RELENTLESS!!!!*
It never gets old, watching folks flip Dyer's Eve on for the first time and it not-so-slowly dawn on them... "Holy f*ck!" Kind of fits though, that they'd end their most complex, talent show-off album with a song so absolutely ripping that they didn't dare try playing it live for well over a decade afterwards....
Please react to beyond the black by metal church (lyrics if you want cause the singer has a unique voice). They toured with Metallica a bunch in the 80s and they are super underrated. Also I think one of the guitarists was a sound check guy for Metallica at one point and even played for the band when james hetfield burned his arm really bad
This and frayed ends of sanity are Metallica’s hardest song ever, in fact they didn’t play this song until 2004, over 15 years, and Frayeds ends of sanity in 2014.
Dave is holding on to the bar tightly as the Metallica freight train hurls him through sharp turns “thrashing all around”! If you want more songs like this one...try “Spit out the Bone” and “All Nightmare Long”. Thanks for keeping it real!
I’m disappointed that you had absolutely nothing to say about the message (lyrics) of this song. James is pouring his heart out here. (And he still, after all these years, hasn’t overcome the “ripping wounds in me that never heal”.) The other day Metallica gave a virtual concert to raise money for the All Within My Hands Foundation. They played House Of The Rising Sun. James chose that song. He did an amazing job. Listen to the words though. He’s pouring out his heart… again. He tells us things, very personal things, through much of his music, but we don’t seem to be listening. James told us during that virtual concert that he’s not in a good place right now, and the song I just watched you listen to is part of the reason why.
Yes! Those of us who know the story of James's childhood especially through his teen years, you can feel his anguish and hurt through these lyrics. Very powerful!
Some say this is what made Metallica go for shorter less complex songs. As Lars said, after this... where could they go? They couldn't get more complex or faster. So they went for something else.
Personally i'd say metallica at their best was albums 2-4, 1&5 are both excellent, the later stuff is just very good... i think that has more to do with it being impossible to continue producing the genius required for the first albums. Cliff burton was definitely the difference...
Don't listen to anyone who says the new stuff isn't very good, they are stuck in the past and don't like change... the new stuff is brilliant. I know at the end of the day it all come down to personal taste but people like to hate on anything after Justice because it's cool to...
This song is amazing, lyrics, drums Fuck Yeeah! 6:27 Sadly this song don't have any good live perfomance React to "For whom the bell tolls" their most iconic song
You absolutely have to review Metallicas' 'Disposable Heroes' and Judas Priests' 'Rapid Fire', the best songs from each band, in my opinion....but listen for yourself....
New stuff definitely is not as good as the first 4 albums, but there are some good songs on the Load, Reload, Death Magnetic & Hardwired albums. Check out Spit out the Bone from their latest album Hardwired to Self Destruct. Avoid anything from St Anger.
Don't listen to the Metallica fans who say the new stuff is shit. They only want thrash and that is what the original stuff excels at. The new stuff is also excellent, but has Metallica branching out into new areas. Worth a listen!
That’s what you call a ‘Face Melting’ guitar solo! Some point go back to the root of metal, Black Sabbath. My favorite is Sabbath Bloody Sabbath but they invented 90% of all sub genres of metal.
And also try another thrash metal bands like Megadeth (Hangar 18, Holy wars, Tornado of souls) or Slayer (War ensemble, Silent scream). They are in the “Big four” of thrash metal with Metallica, so they worth listening 🤘
In my opinion, Justice was Metallica's last full length album. Everything after was a sell out. Kill 'Em All, Ride The Lightning, Master of Puppets, and And Justice For All (I also consider Garage Days a great thrash mimi-lp) are the only music they put out. Again that is my opinion.
Wow this is the first video that gets a dislike... We gta find a song that makes you go crazy like you said you wouldnt when you first started reacting lol Ummmmmm..... Maybe "Holy Wars... Punishment due" by Megadeth
A musical person appreciates all of metallica, not just the first 4 albums
Their most recent albums are CRIMINALLY underrated
And Black Album, Load and Reload still having great songs, even if those are not "thrash"
Arguably one of Kirks best solos
Ale Barajas I don’t know about that. But definitely best Lars drumming.
Agreed and I love the Solo from Wherever I May Roam. It sounds sick...
definitely one of his hardest to play. The speed is just so fast
His best solos imo were on ride the lightning the solos from creeping death, fade to black and the title track ride the lightning were incredible
My favorite overall song by Metallica
Dave, please don't listen to the haters who say don't listen to the new stuff. Metallica are still amazing and put out great material. I highly recommend 'Spit out the bone' and 'Moth into Flame' from their latest album. Absolute fire songs that have an older style to them
Cheers Andy, I’m happy to listen to it all 👍 no worries 😎
@@DaveDissects Good man. You won't regret it. Happy to recommend other great Metallica songs, old and new

Nathan H - Perspective matters a lot here. You’re entitled to your own opinion as long as we both agree that my opinion is the correct one. 😁

Please react to:
-Devil's Dance
-Jump in the Fire
-Murder One
Keep up the amazing videos!
I'm coming back to watch some of your Metallica reactions again! More Metallica please! Dave, your reactions are the best.
This is their most full-on brutal non-stop thrashing song!! Playing this on drums nearly kills me!!! Bass is okay but my fingers are aching...lol The word to describe this song the best is - - - *RELENTLESS!!!!*
Defensive Wounds use a pick lol its more practical especially if u playing jason’s basslines
It never gets old, watching folks flip Dyer's Eve on for the first time and it not-so-slowly dawn on them... "Holy f*ck!"

🤘😎
Why am I now finding your channel 😭 awesome reaction man, hope your well :) your face when they bust out the speed 😂
Please react to “Fight fire with fire” studio version 🙏 it’s as tight as this one
and that solo....
James always knew how to paint a picture with his songs
Moth Into Flame! Best song from their newest album.
The main riff picking is so fast it sounds like they are using a violin bow! Wicked!

Kirk hammit's leads are something else.....i can tell you appreciate the talent
Kirk the Ripper...thrasher extraordinaire 🤘
Would like to hear what you think are metallica's top 5 songs that you have done so far??
This and frayed ends of sanity are Metallica’s hardest song ever, in fact they didn’t play this song until 2004, over 15 years, and Frayeds ends of sanity in 2014.
JArry THEt I think Sanity is just a weird/difficult song to sing for James especially now.
Well done, try 'That Was just Your Life', 'Fight Fire With Fire' and 'Metal Militia'
Another thrash banger🔥🔥🔥🔥🤘🤘🤘🤘🔥🔥🔥you're killing it bro
Cheers my man! 🤘
Dave is holding on to the bar tightly as the Metallica freight train hurls him through sharp turns “thrashing all around”! If you want more songs like this one...try

I think it's time for Strife, Shogun or Down from the Sky by Trivium 🤘
20th view of this lol thx Dave
My pleasure 🤘
Harvester of sorrow
Gotta do To Live Is To Die.

YOU EITHER ROCK WITH METALLICA OR YOU BECOME LOST IN THE SHUFFLE OF SO CALLED METALLICA FANS/HATERS.
And also try another thrash metal bands like Megadeth (Hangar 18, Holy wars, Tornado of souls) or Slayer (War ensemble, Silent scream). They are in the “Big four” of thrash metal with Metallica, so they worth listening 🤘

Megadeth could certainly be on the horizon.
