- For those that have asked, here are a few behind-the-scenes clips. Boon Reung, is an old female elephant. She spent most of her life trekking with tourists, was underfed and depressed. When she came to her new home at Elephants World in 2016 we discovered she had a deep distrust of humans and even other elephants, if they came near, she would turn and walk away. Over time she’s put on weight, we enjoy exploring in the peaceful countryside together and have become good friends.

...i am crying for years, tears of joy, and feel so connected in my heart whith Paul and the elephants, playing piano myself. This is the purest form of life and love. Paul and all te others are my heroes.

Me too, playing piano myself, loving nature and always was an elephant-girl, i cry whith every video, en even watching the 10th time, tears are uncontrolyble running, and i get goosebumbs, over and over again. And i doe this for years, now. It comforts mee, Paul and the elephants are my heroes.
I have a middle aged mother cat that has Cancer. She loves to watch your videos. When she hears the piano play she climbs up on my desk and watches the animals and listens to you play. She purrs loudly and seems to really enjoy the Elephants most of all. Thank You for a work the whole world is enjoying.

There is something truly magical about what you do in such an innumerable amount of ways, but most importantly, you bind the fractured state man has with his environment. You help other elephants understand that man is indeed not only capable of living in this world with others, but are also capable of appreciating and finding deep connections between us all- that in turn, flourish healing the likes of which most the world has never known, and is in most desperate need of now more then ever before. Thank you for the hope, and morally responsible example you set for all of us. May God continue to favor all that you do.

I would give anything in order to swim with elephants, as long as the elephants are not being exploited.What an amazing life the piano man must have.
Just don't do it for money please. 99.9% of asian countries that will have you pay for doing it are treating elephants like slaves, raising them in fear and torture. Most people don't think twice when they have the opportunity to do so, I understand wanting to do it, just be smart about it. Cheers

I just think that it would an amazing feeling to be share space with an elephant or to have the opportunity to take care of an elephant

Bless her heart. Thank you for giving her happiness. I hate the way Asian elephants are treated. They work them to death or make them spend their life entertaining or riding humans around for money. God did not put them on this planet to be enslaved by humans. I pray someday the abusers receive their pay back.

Mr. Barton, not only are you a very fine pianist but you also awaken us all to the knowledge that these noble creatures love music so much.... music is the language of the soul, so I am now sure that elephants have such a soul, otherwise it would not mean anything to them. I just can't get enough of your vids, sir! It's so relaxing that it should be prescripted by social insurance. I can't tell what's the most beatiful : you playing piano, the elephants so massive but so quiet, the wilderness. Definitely the mix of all this provides a big shoot of love. What a beautiful spirit. How anyone could mistreat these wonderful creatures is something I cannot understand. Animals respond to music just like people. It can be very healing. Are you ever nervous that the animals will hurt you, even inadvertently?

That piano should be on a cement block to prevent moisture from creeping up from the ground and damaging the wood.
It's on the floor so the elephant can enjoy the vibration too!

I LOVE Anthony Hopkins's "And the Waltz goes on" and the version where it was first played to him in Vienna won't play in the US! So this is totally wonderful. So happy the Elephant World is helping all these Elephants who have spent lives being ill treated for tourists. Thank you again.

Why do humans treat the animals around us so poorly. Hearing the tale of this majestic creature reminds me why I hate zoos so much. Even as a kid in the sixties I hated going to the zoo. Thank you kind sir for working with and playing the piano for all your elephants!

@@npcblacksmith5739 If they are truely doing it for that purpose that's okay. However, most zoos are a collection of animals placed in cages for people to look at as entertainment while the animals are locked up.
In most cases sadly you are right, but not always. For example, there is a zoo in Hamburg, Germany called „Hagenbecks“ founded by a man named Karl Hagenbecks, who innovated my conducting research on the animals to find out about their needs and abilities. He used that knowledge to build an animal friendly zoo pretty much without cages.

Such peace between both you and the Elie! For big creatures of God’s they are so docile unless they are being beaten and always when they protect their young! Looking into their eyes it seems as though we can see the pain and suffering they’ve endured.... love them with all your heart and they will love you until death.

I love animals and prefer them to most humans. They are intelligent, compassionate, empathetic, full of love and soul. They love and take much better care of their children than so called humans these days. When I have really worse-than-usual depression days I watch your videos and my ❤ sings. To Paul Barton, have you ever considered literally calling Steinway headquarters to propose they sponsor your videos, which would include a free Steinway piano that you play for the videos? You could also ask them to donate some funds to your elephant sanctuary.

This made me cry. To know how she was abused and traumatized by man so badly she would not trust her own kind. This see this elephant become so gentle with this man that they can swim together is astounding. God Bless yok for what you do. How one Man can be so Evil and another so loving!
Now that is how a lovely lady should be treated :) It was wonderful watching her moving her trunk to the music:) I think the part of this that really caught my heart was when you two were walking away after the music. I didn't see an elephant and a man walking ,I saw two good friends heading home after a lovely afternoon together .
