- Knife Safety Cutting Techniques 2 year old Susie: Montessori Techniques From Pepper and Parsley
2 year old Susie is using a teaching technique from the new Montessori style children's teaching book, Pepper and Parsley in the Kitchen. Susie is 26 months old and has never used a knife before, so we are gettin started with a butter knife to cut through some softer foods. I had Susie hold on to a small crayon in her left hand to help remind her to keep her hand in a fist, and her fingers away from the knife. It worked really well!
