I worked 18 years for USPS before retiring. (I bought my military service time to add 4 years so I retired with 22 years service). I worked 6 days a week fo 10 years. The last 8 years, I was fulltime, so I got 2 days off a week. The work was very physical. Very stressful. For 18 years I hated Christmas. I did enjoy the customers, the pay and benefits were great. I am now enjoying retirement.
Just the 3 minutes of you talking about how your body aches and everything hurts . I don't want to work there any more. Thank you , that made me shut your video off . But then I came back just to watch the whole thread and give you a thumbs up girl.👍🏾
The hours she is talking about are for PSEs which are the entry level people. When you become a regular clerk you work 8 hours a day unless you volunteer to work more. PSEs are automatically converted to a regular clerk after 2 years of service. If you stay long enough to get converted the pay and benefits are excellent. I currently work in one of the plants and I make almost $65,000 a year. It’s not the easiest job in the world but it’s worth it.
Thank you so much for sharing your experience. I just resigned from my job in insurance because desk work and being on the phone is not for me. I previously worked for Target in the wearhouse and it wasn't too bad for my department. I feel I'm chasing money when I should get a job/career that gives me meaning in the sense where I feel I made a change. Part of the reason I left Target was that I had lazy co-workers but I did enjoy the work. I'm still on call but might go back if not I'll look for a job that gives me more meaning. I really appreciate your advice🤗
I know usps workers make $21+, many people that work jobs that are just as laborious as this are told they dont deserve to make more than $10. To be on your feet serving people or stocking shit for 9-14 hours, you deserve some money. Honestly it's like a trap. Poor people are working the hardest physically yet lots of us can never really save money because it's so expensive to live
People who say that have NEVER worked for the Post Office. They often work their asses off and have to put up with some very obnoxious supervisors who can make your life a living hell. Imo they didn’t pay us enough money for what I and other people had to go through. My cousin worked for the railroad, made a better salary, and didn’t have to be exposed to the type of harassment that postal workers often go through. Where do you think the term “going postal” came from? It was from people who couldn’t take the harassment anymore and just snapped.

I asked my boss if i could not get mandated on my day off for few weeks and the reply i got was go get a work hr restrictions from a doctor. That’s where i drew my line and said fk it i quit

Complainers are not a fit; it's like being in the military. It's a federal organization. Glad you are repping USPS correctly. More power to you.
Research shows, the more an employer creates a hostile atmosphere. (16 hour days to show your dedication to the company) The fewer employees feel needed. It will burn people out fast. This is why there is a standard cap on hours. It is so the employee does not feel used and abused and actually gets up in the morning wanting to go back to work.

I just have an issue with my foot, but have a brace I use to help it. Should I not bring it up if I do apply/interview until I might get a job? Thank you for the informative video!
You can't be creative? Well it depends on the kind of job you do at the plant. I have a friend who has worked for a USPS distribution plant for more than 30 years first as a maintenance mechanic to where he worked with machines and robotics needed for sorting out the mails. His job also involved trouble shooting and this usually happens when a machine breaks down. This is basically where a lot of creativity is needed. After so many years of working as a mechanic, he decided to apply for electronic technician, and after so many years as an electronic technician, he's now a manager.
Hi how are you I apply for cca in New York but the place I apply for she call me the lady if want to go another place almost 50 minutes form my home ??
I just got hired as a CCA in PA and my supervisor told us they will put us where they need us. That means you don’t get to chose where you will work but here where I live they do take in account where you live and try to keep you in your zip code. There’s no harm in asking what their placement policy is. NY might be different congratulations on getting hired.

What people doesn't know is that the post office where you go to mail your letter or packages and buy stamps, the work there starts between 2am-4am until 1pm depending on the time you are needed. You will work at the back sorting mails and stuff.
English translation: Worst job I've ever had, not only because of how they stress you out, but also because the managers aren't trained and tend to be a bit abusive if they see that you don't know how to defend yourself, forget about those in the union, they don't defend you. In some places like in CA. They make you work for 14 days in a row (8-10 hrs) you rest 1 day and then everything repeats itself. If the manager sees that you are picking up a good rhythm, they give you another route apart from your route. It is understandable that there are people who believe it is a good job but it consumes all your time and energy, for me that did not work, especially if you have to wait 2-5 years for them to give you a permanent route. Good luck to all the brave.
More like they throw you into it with no break in period. They work you 10-12 hours without asking! They expect you not to eat but yet dock you at the same time, minimum 6 days a week! Yeah don’t complain about it either, two breaks which you probably won’t get, oh and if somebody else is slacking you will be the one suffering, no personal life is the truth, if you don’t have a family then that’s fine! And that’s the Carrier side but of course they don’t tell you any of this during interview or orientation! Honestly it doesn’t matter what position you are in the post office is brutal.

There are ppl that age and older as a mha if you want something less strenuous apply for mail processing its allot less stress on the body and pays more!
The job at a plant is normally strenuous. I have co-workers older than you. The best way to find out is to try it yourself, you can quit anytime, they are used to people quitting early because of the physical requirement. 1-2 people unload the truck at our branch, not sure how many in other. They use an electric pallet jack. Hope that helps.

Hey I've been working at USPS for about a week now. Im a MHA but I want your opinion on joining the Labor Union???
Hi, as a temporary I did not join the union. But if I became permanent I surely will. They take money out of your salary every payday.
Don’t it’s a waste of time and money . The union is corrupt as management.
from where you get the hoodie?
You can buy it in the main branch. I got mine at Amazon.
@@MarieAdventure you mean usps website store or a physical usps location!? Thank you
Thanks for a good video. Very helpful.
welcome!
So I have epilepsy would you recommend working there or no? My seizures are related to stress and anxiety so I was thinking this job would but lovely but apparently it doesn’t sound like it. Maybe aldis is better but idk I’m 18 and don’t have a drivers license. I’m still… I’m just working on myself and my mental health.
I am not a mental health professional so I can't give advice regarding with that matter.
My husband works as a MHA - his biggest complaint is the pain in his hands and swollen they feel- any recommendations for pain relief??
Dr. Bronner's Organic Magic Balm works for me.

Hi Marie ..always watching your video...got lots of tips from you

@marie im new here in US. And planning to apply in usps . Is it mandatory for 6days aweek of work?
If they need you to work 6 days a week they will tell you. We had a mandatory 10 days straight with one day off.
Hobby outside work is good for feeling empty at work
I just found your video, was thinking of applying for a part time job there. Do they ever hire people who might have minimal disabilities? I just have an issue with my foot, but have a brace I use to help it. Should I not bring it up if I do apply/interview until I might get a job? Thank you for the informative video!
If you will work in the plant you will be on your feet for 10 hrs straight 6 days a week.
Great informative vid again, how long does the fingerprint take? Do you still have interview
vlad v fingerprint 5 mins. Falling in line to get the fingerprint done 2 hrs.
marie how is the chance on getting hire after finishing background check and schedule for finger printing?
Which job do you think is better to get into, mail handler assistant or mail processing clerk?
Thank you!
Both!
Marie Adventure thank you for the reply. Do you know if you’re able to change crafts down the line once you’re in?
@@ssjcesar I changed craft and it's okay.
I like your sweater. Where did you order it

Need to work safe, don't matter how much back up.SDO job get the help you need.Remember you get hurt on the job it will always be on you.
Thank you for your services

Hello ate good day, I just started and I worked for just a month and after that they did the background check and they find out that my requirements is not qualified due to number of years as a green card holder they terminated me 3 days ago… And Im so sad….My manager said I can go back after I comply the 1 year and 5 months to be a 5 year resident here in USA. It is possible to get back? Even the union they just give me a form as resignation and give back to them so that I can reapply if ever I want to… do I need to sign the resignation form as what the union said to me? Thank you.. I like to work as a pse mail processing clerk cuz i made good hours and 💴…..
Resign so you can go back again after your 5 years of green card residency. If you don't resign you will be blacklisted as AWOL.
@@MarieAdventure Thank you ate, I gave my resignation letter to the union and they are the one whoe send that letter but I gave to them late after the terminated took effect but she said she ginna try to send it… thank you ate…

I have a question if I get a job at post office,it doesn’t mean I gotta stop sending letters to my pen pals right?
who are your penpals?

can you make a living working as a pse processing clerk? if you live in california
Yes you can.
What if you work in a small post office
What people doesn't know is that the post office where you go to mail your letter or packages and buy stamps, the work there starts between 2am-4am until 1pm depending on the time you are needed. You will work at the back sorting mails and stuff.
@@MarieAdventure thank you yes I will be working in the back. The post office serves about 3500 ppl

Do work hours change everyday? Or is it only night shifts? My bf applied for the Los Angeles location and just made an appt for the finger print.
How is your bf doing at USPS?
What’s the top pay? And after how many years?
You have an excellent attitude. My best to you.
Thank you. I wish you the best too.
Where to purchase the ointment for pain ?

Hi… what are the benefits working at post office and minimum wage?
Their starting salary is higher than minimum wage.
my sister said that there is a two year contract is this true?
yes there is
LEARN YOUR JOB, DO YOUR JOB, AND KNOW HOW TO DO YOUR JOB.
Thanks for your advise, Ms. Maureen.
Nice video.....i'm an ET at a plant....I feel your pain.
Sorry to hear that
can I apply this job without experienced?
Yes. You do not need an experience working the postal office. They will take anyone willing to do a labor job.
@@MarieAdventure thank you 😊
More like they throw you into it with no break in period.
You got it.
Hi again! How's safety during work? Are you all wearing mask in the plant?
Mask & gloves are mandatory 👌
@@MarieAdventure thanks! By the way, what's the difference between PSE Sales and Services Distribution Associate and Clerk Assistant? I'm about to accept an offer but just saw the PSE position. I want to be assigned in a store or window. Please help. I'm confused. Can I apply in both positions?

thank you so much for this super helpful video, i have a question did you have to pay a 39$ fee to take the exam?
I took it last month and it was free
The 39$ is for a test study they prepare you for every step of getting “hire” “not the usps” alternate company ...
You don't have to pay for anything.
Apply directly at usps.com
Not through any 3rd party that charges a fee.
omg mine was $90 D:
Hi ate i just completed the assesment test to clerk assistant (476) got 92 score and the pse svcs/distributions (477) got 88 score i dont know if i pass on the pse job but it says im eligible, the clerk assistant naman is they offer me already the job just now but i found out that its only temporary job should i wait for the pse email reply from them? but i only have 3days to decide i really appreciate your reply i know your busy now.. what is clerk assistant do can we pick our time or they will assign you?? I got an offer letter as a Mail Handler assistant at a Plant. Some people say it’s very hard job.I am 48 years old.Do you think this job is good for me?How many people work together to unload a truck? Does they use any equipment to load and unload truck?Could you give me reply please!
There are ppl that age and older as a mha if you want something less strenuous apply for mail processing its allot less stress on the body and pays more!
@@CreoleBarbieUspsVlogs hello there! I also follow you and watch your videos! Stay safe!🙂🙂🙂
@@CreoleBarbieUspsVlogs Hi Barbie, thanks for your response. I'm watching your videos too :)
Hi Marie kumusta. I was about to apply but i heard the supervisors are vicious and rude? Not true right?
My supervisors varies, there's a cool one and the other is clueless.
They were mostly vicious where I worked. If you were part of their little clique you could get away with murder. If you weren’t (like me) you would get treated like 💩 no matter how hard you worked or how good a job you did. I’m glad I got out.
Hi Marie ...do you have any idea sa Form 50 about (appt expiration date) yun ba ang laslt day ng work? By the way i send you the screenshot sa Facebook mo. Thank you so much,..your video is really big help to us! More video please and God Bless

So how long did you last before you quit? I know you did. Everybody thinks working for the post office is a gravy job.
3 months. Then I re-applied.
That MHA job, you don’t have energy to drink water!
Are you working as MHA?
Especially if you're dispatching and bringing in mail to be sorted.
So they don't offer part time at all?
Not really lol. They tell you it’s part-time but you end up working like 80 hours in one week. Take that as you will.
