Thanks for sharing with us Gord. Stay safe, Fred.
Another nice video Gord - endless ideas when using acrylic sheets, sent you a email, hopefully it arrived, if not let me know. Cheers
Hey Buddy. No, unfortunately I don't see it. Can you resend to gordpotter55 at gmail dot com? Thanks pal!
I think they they should specify that each color layer is 1/16”. At first I thought, that’s pretty thin.
When aligning, I use the bullseye just to the left of the tools that you used. Does vertical and horizontal all at once.
Also, I found it that the Ruida controller on the panel next to the lid allows you to make changes on the fly. So I would make my settings say for a sentence and change either the speed or power for each word and examine them after the engrave. I hope that was clear. You could always press pause and make the changes too. This way you wouldn’t have to do a new engrave for each trial.
Good morning and thanks - great suggestion - I need to find where the buttons are to make changes from the controller. Thanks again!
Thank you Gord for another beautiful well researched video. Your research saves me a ton of time on materials not found in the initial Thunder Laser library. I also enjoy your adjustments and explanations to why. You are my favorite content creator for the Bolt. Looking forward for research in the 1/8” LaserMax.
Thanks very much for the kind comments T's! Good luck and all the best! GP
Thank you so much for this video! I ordered that sample kit and tried cutting the piece they sent me. It didn't end well. The ends felt "melty" and the smell was awful. I have confidence now to try it again.
You're welcome Janine! Give these settings a try. Let me know how it goes! Have a great week and all the best!
Hi Gord. I’ve been following you on Laser Nug almost since you started. I am not sure what your background is but you are a fabulous instructor. I started watching because I was contemplating getting a Thunder Bolt and I am happy to say that I placed my order today. I am so looking forward to getting it. I have owned a Glowforge Pro for almost 2 years. The Bolt will broaden the materials and blanks that I’ll be able to laser. I am going to need to learn LightBurn although it looks similar to InkScape. Figuring out settings is what is a bit daunting to me, so I am so glad that you are sharing what you’ve learned and how you have learned it through trial and error.
Right now I am using the laser as a hobby. As such, I am not able to get blanks from companies that only sell to businesses, like JDS. It looks like that company is the source of a lot of items: tumblers, dog bowls, etc. I hope that I can find the same items through a retail outlet. That way when I get the Bolt and the rotary and Twister Tray I will be able to try to replicate some of the projects you have shared as my hands on learning.
Again, thank you so very much for sharing your laser journey.
The way he speaks and how his videos are remind me of the original home-improvement TV show This Old House...used to watch it with my dad growing up. Loving his videos and plan to purchase a Bolt soon.
@@1badviking969 LOL! Thanks - I watched it every Saturday morning for years and years when I was younger. Thanks so much- Cheers!
Hey congratulations! I am happy the videos help a bit. I watched hours and hours of Lightburn RUclips video tutorials ( they have playlists for beginners on the Lightburn channel) and still have a lot to learn , so little steps at a time. Best of luck and let me know how it is going. Cheers Sharon!
I have a nova 35 80 W thunder laser I've been working with Blue/White 1/16". I've got close with my settings 525 speed 30 power 498 lines per minute no air. It starts out looking good then 2/3 of the way through it. The blue starts getting back in my letters and I can't clean it out. When you say no air do you mean absolutely no air my lens gets real dirty real quick with no air at all. Please help.
Hey good day Rob. I am not super experienced yet but on the BOLT, I believe there is no air coming out of the Air Assist unless I click Air Assist in Lightburn. So , no air at all when I am engraving ( only when I am cutting) but if you have not seen this video from Rob on Computer Creationz, it may help ruclips.net/video/2k-QLrHC-7E/видео.html. I wish you luck and hope you can figure it out. Cheers!
He uses the white blue Rowmark at the end of the video I just sent.
What watt is your laser??
Morning! it is a 30W RF c02 laser. Cheers!
@@LaserNUG Thanks ... I''ve got a 100 watt so I'll have to play with the setting then. At least it gives me a jump off point. Much appreciated!!!!
