He was on Hospice home care for 2 years prior to his passing and during that time he had some dental issues, well I encountered many times finding him attempting to pull his teeth out with pliers. The tooth starting to get a little loose was my first warning. So I began to rinse that tooth with a soultion of hydrogen peroxide and water twice a day to keep infection away. Soon I was beginning to get low on peroxide and none was to be found as everyone for some reason began to hoard peroxide along with rubbing alcohol, toilet paper, paper towels ect. Luckily my mother (She's 86) had a spare bottle. Anyway, the tooth got more and more loose until finally I was able to pull it out by working it back and forth with my tongue until I was able to grab it with my fingers and pull it out. I rinsed again with the peroxide mixture and then did final rinses from there on out with salt water to speed the healing process. I was never in any pain during the entire process and I saved a couple of hundred dollars. No, this story doesn't start with "Once apon a Time" and the tooth fairy still hasn't showed up yet.

I think about my Uncle all the time. I... lost him. Been about a year ago now. He was one of my best friends... You wanna know something about him that really stood out? Instead of saying things like "manliness is gone in our country" like most of you in this comment section, he actually spent time with the younger generations. He didn't sit around on his electronics all day and say "I am a dying breed of manliness" and talk crap about other people, he taught other men how to be good men. He left alot of good things behind in the minds of others, he _cared_. He was humble, kind, loving, always putting the needs of others above his own, he was legendary.
My dad did the same thing back in 1988. He borrowed my pliers and pulled his jaw tooth. My mom got on to me for lending them to him. Those are real men.
Real men don't borrow pliers, they have their own, and if they need them they go use their own. Only manly person in that story was your mom for knowing the mans code.

Mr. Robertson, you couldn’t be more right. The age of man is dying. Slowly fading away. Growing up I used to love listening to stories about things my grandfathers and my dad did. My grandfathers had lots of remarkable stories, my dad had a few, and I have even fewer, if any at all. Back in the day, if a man wanted it, he worked for it, he earned it, or he made it. The level of ingenuity from previous generations of men is truly remarkable.
I was coaching youth football and it started to rain heavy. We kept on going of course. Then I saw the high school team on the other field running around grabbing stuff, then bolting for the school. I got hooked on opiates for about 6 years from pain killers after getting my wisdom teeth pulled. They are in fact great for pain, but I believe they make them purposely very very addictive. Coming back to the lord is the only thing that saved me from that addiction.
Phil's just another man that speaks his mind the way men should speak their mind especially about God and about a lot of things, since he is who he is, he has a lot of opportunity to speak about a lot of things because the world is watching him, plus that's just who he is he's going to speak his mind regardless whether he's got a camera on him or not. I'm that way most of the time, people don't like me cuz of that cuz I just speak the truth, people don't want to hear the truth, they just want to hear what they want to hear but Phil's doing a fine job praise the Lord

Phil, I do believe that manliness has been diminished SO badly, that I fear it will never return to the ways people like us remember. I could write you an entire documentary about the men in my life and their legacies. I am raising my son (2 and five months at the time I wrote this) to know God and to do manly things. I believe that men quite desperately need to look inward and upward to God and hold themselves more accountable for the failures of our society. Know your neighbors, love and care for your wife, and involve yourself in the raising of your children. Fathers need to be present in a child's life

He was humble, kind, loving, always putting the needs of others above his own, he was legendary.
god bless, very wise man. we need more real men like you and me around
Phil, the world is lucky to have you in it. Please keep being you, everyone needs that and doesn't realize it.
Real men brush their teeth
"if you're gonna be dumb you better be tough"
Being a “real man” isn’t equivalent to being foolish.
Thank you Mr. Robertson for all you do sir, and the message you share.
Preach it Brother Phil!!! Love you all!!!!
I love Mr.Robertson. I learn so much. A Yuppie Gal like me needs all the help I can get! I could listen to him fofever. Boston,Mass.
You CV
Modern day parables by Phil. I love this man and his amazing life stories. They educate me. Thank you for being you, Phil.
Finally a man that’s godly and also interesting.
God bless you .😊
Can I get an AMEN! Every time Phil opens his mouth, wise words come out of it
AMEN🙏🏽🇺🇸❤️
Wise words? LMAO....what did you learn?
Amen! 🙏💕🙏
Amen! Im just glad a lot of his words are on video to pass on to the following generations.
@@willowsverge3046 What did you learn from this rambling old man? Manhood is slipping away because we don't just grab some pliers and tear out a tooth....us sissies listen to doctors and use anti-antibiotics? This was the craziest and dumbest story I've heard in a long time.
Generations away for some were still raised the right way my 32 yr old son and his friends are conservative and love our country! We ain’t done yet! Semper Fi America!
Phil...you are amazing and I truly love you and your sons!!! I get so much from each of your podcast and old reruns from Duck Dynasty. I love hearing all the stories and I get so much understanding of scripture. I just wish y'all would end each session with a prayer. Thanks for all you do for the world!!
I love Phil. A great wise all American man
Love to listen to Phil! What an awesome servant of the Lord! I hope I can get there before my time is up. I think it would be great to walk and talk and work with Phil a few days because I know he is following our Lord and he reminds me of my Papa. Thank you Phil for your encouraging, may you continue to be blessed!
I thank God for the strong leaders he's put in my life. "As iron sharpens iron, so a man sharpens another" (Proverbs 27:17)
That's a gentleman that we need as a leader...common sense, wise, and Godly. God bless you Phil💙
You are one of my favorite human beings Mr Roberson.
Love ya oldmate, you're man's man
My grandad, E. L. Vincent, pulled all of his teeth with a pair of pliers. I am still trying to stand on my tip toes and hoping to be half the man he was. He is 84 and still fighting hard.
Had and uncle that took his teeth out and filled the socket with snuff. They just don’t make em the same anymore...
My granddad, born in 1917, was still roofing houses at 85. In cowboy boots. There’ll never be another generation like that.
@@troypattillo8316 The men in that generation where outright bulletproof!! Both of my grandaddys where real men like that!
My dad also pulled his teeth with plyers.
Read Sheldon Berg replies, I just replied how I pulled out my own Wisdom teeth. I was amazed that I did it.
Honest to God, my dad did the same. I always thought he was crazy, but just tuff as nails.
Yes it is sadly
As a single mom now"
I'm very proud to say my son,

Us men are built for toughness. No matter how the world around you unfolds, you've gotta be there to face challenges. We were born learning how to withstand, adapt and improve. That's the way we are. Don't ever let no one convert you, be true to yourself

Can’t get enough of this guy he’s great
Your show has changed my life. Ive have truly learned more about the Lord since watching for 3 months than i did going to church sitting in a pew for 30 yrs. I am truly grateful.... May God continue to bless your family w this platform of speaking his word in truth. I cant express enough my gratefulness. Love you all. God is so so good to us.
Thats really sad! LOL!
People will buy into this, say toxic masculinity isn't a thing, then complain that men aren't allowed to share their emotions without a single sense of irony
It’s going to be a sad day when we lose ole
Rob. I make sure to take in every word that comes out of his toothless mouth. There’s nobody out there like him and I think all men should strive to be more like him. Amen.
We can all add him to our prayer list for him to be with us many more years. 3John:2 Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper & be in good health, even as thy soul prospereth. Put the power of the word on everything we speak. God will turn it to the good.
Hope you know how much you’re loved Phil. Pulling teeth with pliers sounds like my Pops.
Can soooo relate! Pulled my own dang tooth with pliers at around 16. Had 7 cavities filled with no numbing. Been raised to be tough all my life. Raised my boys in a similar fashion but they went on to get a PHD and a masters. They still think country though. Manhood ain't dead yet but on life support it seems?
Phil has a master's degree as well
God bless you Phil and god bless America’s soul, we’re in dark times
Not really lol, like at all. Have some perspective and be thankful.
My father in law passed 10 years ago. He only had 3 teeth left. I don't think the dentist pulled the first one.
Jesus is life this body is only temporary.
Be blessed!
I could listen to this man talk all day long.
They don’t make em like this anymore, LEGEND
They do, just getn harder to find

I did the same thing. I was driving truck for 16 hours one day with that jaw tooth throbbing. I came out the bathroom and told my brother, I've learned 2 things today " I can fly and right before I do, Pee runs down my leg !" No drugs or alcohol, Tooth pain is torture.

People back then, the way they had to live, no one today can fathom! The only constant is the Lord Jesus Christ and what he did on the Cross for those who put their faith in him!
Ever noticed on television commercials how they changed the man's role to the woman's role and vice versa.
A man ain't a real man these days unless he does the traditional women's work in the house as well as his normal job also. Commercials make me sick these days there isn't a single couple in a commercial that isn't mixed.
yeah and alot of guys cuddling on the couch
@@claylatour1899 a mixed couple makes you sick? How does that have any effect on your life?
@Evan Fields soooo.......what has to be done?
@@chrisbonham3667 it doesn't and it doesn't make me sick. I have mixed couples in my family that I love. The commercials make me sick because companies and ads fear if they don't put a mixed couple out there as representation they are racist. Just dumb and this world shouldn't be that way.
The ability to endure hardship is not a manly trait. It is solid character for men and women.
Love listening to your sermons sir God bless u and urs
I had a back tooth pulled when I was 6 months pregnant with my daughter Sarah, had none thing for the Pain and she is pretty darn tough as well ❤ She survived Cancer
Just pulled my wisdom tooth the other day. Felt so much better. Dad sound like a tough dude when it came to pain. Was fun to watch. Great video
A sermon and ASMR in one video. Doesn't get better than this :)
Fathers need to be present in a child's life
Exactly. Most unmanly men never had a manly example given them by their dads. God is the source of manhood.
Hard work those before us endured bring on greatness. We pamper & pacify these children. Not good for them or us.
as long as you teach him that he can cry and that he can be who he wants to as well. other wise you will end up with a son like me. and a father like mine who never can understand lol

My son told me recently that for a while he was dealing with an imbalanced jaw. He told me that he hasn't been able to smile the same ever since he was five or six years old.
I always try to think of the"old timers" when doing things. Luckily, some older dentists will still pull when infected. I have to be in super, severe pain and then, I still try to just grit and bear through it. Car wreck, pull me out I gotta get to work. I've worked while still spitting blood from wisdom teeth removal. Never miss a beat. Dying breed. That's what an old guy used to tell me. Thankful for the great men God put in my life to learn not to let the little things bother you. There's so much at stake to lay up crying about a little pain.
