One thing I think I know is that Ross has left an indelible mark in the anglophone internet sphere with just how long he's been doing this and bringing joy to our hearts.
The two of you are my absolute most favorite content creators. I remember being a dumb kid emailing Ross, asking him where I can buy Half Life Source because I didn't know what mods were. He was super cool and took the time to answer my dumb question.
He gave me a personalized thank you email for a dollar donation I made to him. Not only wasn't expecting that, even less for 1 dollar, but he was super cool about it too.
The modding communities part is just so real, and it just gets better. Just look at pokemon or fire emblem from GBA era, those fans MADE engines for making hackroms and completely expanded games for PC too. And they just keep adding cool things and making those games their own versions. They make incredible work, and they are the reason I have like 100 hackroms in my phone and PC.
at 53:15 in the video there is a mention of a Team Fortress 2 video of someone having issues in source film maker as soon as I heard that I instantly knew what video it was, it's a video by LazyPurple called: "How it FEELS to SUFFER in SFM" just thought that I would mention it as TF2 is probably my favourite game, and I really enjoy seeing what people can make within games keep up the great work! RvB is a show I really enjoyed watching and it's nice to see more like it!
i think ross is talking about lazy purple. for some reason even though he verified the integrity of sfm's files and even replaced the wrangler files out right he still could not change the color of the wrangler lazer. and it even changed color depending on the default point of different maps. so he had to have someone make a separate scene with a red wrangler lazer to copy over to get around the issue.
Another great video! And a great interview! I am also dissatisfied with the anti consumer trends of the gaming industry. Here's hoping we can together to make a real difference. Well done B00m, you did a great job and don't worry, you didn't sound crazy nervous. And to Mr. Ross Scott, I salute you sir! Your efforts are most commendable. This was a fun watch, looking forward to the next one!
This is a great video and it hits a lot of good key points of we the consumers shouldn't have to be afraid or worried about losing our games and money due to corporate greed.👍
Speaking of Halo. Still grateful Insignia lets me play PROPER Halo 2. Infinite is just bland and boring and MCC is filled with AFKs, cheaters and playlists that are just outright dead (invasion). Server browsers honestly need to make a return. Because at the end of the day, the onus for server hosting would be on the community and would allow different servers to propagate (Comp, semi-serious, casual, party games, etc). Instead of forcing people into the same match and friction caused because John Casual wants to "have fun" but Steve Comp considers winning the match fun. Even without a company hosting the master server, you could still make it a community effort to have some autist who "just wants to play video games" host the master server listing servers. Because for that you NEED someone who doesn't care about a server's personal politics. Imgine the drama over server owners having to toe the line to some weirdos who barely play in order to keep their server publicly listed. The other bit is you're 100% right on the community driven content being what keeps it alive; Duke3D, OG DOOM and DOOM 2, MARATHON, Half-Life, TF2 (sorta). You have a lot of older games propped up by their communities LONG after official support has ended. Halo PC/Custom Edition got ONE last patch (1.10) to assist with the death of Gamespy and some security fixes. While the games are outright dead now (no population, "populated" servers are actually empty servers with a script running to fake player count), the community was able to fix issues with the game and allow it to survive past official support.
1:07:23 I understand why that's bad, but holy shit that's awesome. It gives a huge incentive to huge companies with access to demonic BRRRRR DEI funding to make AIs able to play games ( relatively well ). Just think of the possibility for improved AI across the board in singleplayer and pseudoplayers in multiplayer.
Dang that's awesome dude i just learned about him from a upper echelon gaming video i normally don't want government inreach but they need to provide a fair and open market to consumers and not let corporations walk all over everyone
I just miss server based multiplayer games so players could make their own servers with their own rules instead of dealing with the hyper janny ai 2000 that bans you for saying "fuck that was cool" because you said the fuck word.
The perfect caption for that thumbnail is, "Get in loser, we're saving video games."
People are talking about how the game industry is killing games and only saying "this sucks"
Ross "I'm going to sue" and literally is doing it

I’m glad one of my favorite classic RUclipsrs is is still relevant and cool after all these years
What US companies write in their Eula is of no consequence outside the US. People only think that which is crazy to begin with.
This man is a legend to me, I can't believe you actually got an interview with him!
I love Ross scotss Game Dungeon!
He's unironically what got me into many indie game reviewers including Civvie11
Regarding 55:00 the channel doing the long form analysis videos is called PatricianTV.
I told a coworker about an old funny series called freeman's mind the other day and then I see this.

Thank you for another wonderful video. I have no words, but it's very interesting
Love every second of it already
each time a corporate video game company does something greedy or anti consumer my guy's hairline recedes a little more
Thanks for spreading this
Gordon Freeman, the video game savior of humanity himself, here to save humanity's video games!

One of these days I hope I can talk to Ross Scott

Fire collab. I hate at what is becoming of games now
Outlands Is kinda a Machinima, for Space Engineers, but I would love another.
45:34 Another great Machinina that's a classic from the First Golden Age of Machinina is the Halo Machinima Spriggs
This will be a fun afternoon.
OH MY GOD, O-OH MY GOOOOO
I always thought Ross sounds like Ray Romano. Still do.
This was really cool!
Great interview. Thanks.

I really want to support this idea

Nice. Here is your medal 🥈
If video games and not rampant consumerism mattered, this video would be widely-viewed.
It is not.
Cool video, honk in bio
