I was eagerly waiting for this one! This ost instantly caught my attention at the start of the movie; it coupled with the animation in that one sequence where yuta joins the school was just perfection. So I was secretly happy that you postponed sangatsu for this, and oh boy, you did it justice. I love that moment of silence at 0:20 where the last note lingers around and from there how you delicately build up the track. Then as you said, after that point it's just bombastic and epic--amazing payoff to the build up. I think this has become my 3rd favorite of your covers right behind the sangatsu medley and ahead of sayonara bystander, which is saying a lot. Keep it up, looking forward to the next sangatsu medley! Also, I haven't seen 86, but I'll be sure to listen to animenz's "Avid".
Yeah I’m right there with you on resonating with this soundtrack when it played on screen. It literally struck a chord within me and the first time around I had my jaws dropped. After the movie on a second listen, I jokingly told my friend, “Wouldn’t it be cool to get this on piano, haha”. Here we are man. I surprisingly clicked rather easily with this one, it molds into my current style really well.
Awesome playing, Brandon! One of the highlights was definitely the big pause from 0:20-0:35 - it takes real patience and courage to let the sound ring for so long, and acknowledge the silence, as if to give the music a change to breathe and prepare for the rest of the song. Great build-up and pacing, and exciting ending! 👏👏 And as always, a masterpiece of a description!
Hahaha, I wouldn’t go as far as to say courage but the pause was very intentional (and frustrating to wait for each take too). You’re exactly right, as it intends to sink in an anticipation for a change of pace. As always, thankful for you two swinging by :)
First off, thank you so much for the compliments. Not often do I get asked for sheets on my channel but it always makes me happy people want to play it. I do not but, if you’d like, we can add each other on discord and I can show you how to play it? I live in NYC and need to rent out a piano studio but I do so now and then. Happy to show you how to play online or live from studio if you wish ^_^
Really good performance! I like how you just let the notes ring at 0:20 for quite some time. Imo, that takes a fair bit of patience to just ‘wait’. I also really liked the countermelodies provided by the left hand - i imagine that was not the easiest to do. _very impressive end scene_
I clicked really well with this song for some reason. It only took me 3 days of the school I skipped to arrange, practice, and record for this. The countermelody part certainly wasn’t the easiest but just gotta beat the tempo into your head lol. Thank you for coming by :)
Like the left hand pattern around 1:11. Really great storytelling as usual! The ending was very epic as you described 👀👀 Likewise looping Animenzs avid 🤣
This piano arrangement is beautiful. The use of the pedal is putting me in a trance. P.S. I always appreciate you and Hayashi leaving long descriptions.
Even though I haven't watched the movie or listened to the song, you beautifully explained description guided my feelings as I listened. Your distinct playing with Hayaya's cleanup sounds really good! Makes me feel I'm listening to live playing in a concert hall. You really don't fail expectations, keep it up
You've been too good of a fan for me lately Heo. I really appreciate the commentary and love you show, and it makes me feel a little guilty that I don't give the same feedback for your channel (I don't play Genshin anymore so I dont comment and keep with anything Genshin related but maybe that changes today). Sending you, another like-minded individual, lots of good cheer and many thanks ^_^
@@Heosmin I dropped $250 for Ganyu. Don't tell anyone haha. I had to stop after that because I was getting busy lol but Genshin is a very well done game
@@MadPianoLife Can't blame you, its a very time consuming game that can get very repetitive over time too. I myself only play during some periods and then drop the game for weeks lel
Reading the thought-process behind your arranging-decisions was a treat! Adds another dimension and resonates in a way which makes me, who has never seen the show, feel its intention and emotion. You’re kind of encapsulating what I aspire to do with music- convey something. Something more than just ‘playing’. I’m not there yet, but I loved hearing your performance! Makes me want to accomplish more with my own music
That’s a great conveyance of what I try to do with my channel Acate. I’m glad I serve as some form of inspiration for you and am happy to see you consider what I do a level you want to reach. Good luck, stop watching Vtubers, and practice :)
Oh man, when I arranged and played it out I was satisfied but for this auditory aesthetic, Hayashi really upped it another level. This is 70% his doing :) and my big thanks to him haha. Thanks for appreciating both our works!!
wow, am late to this video but glad I came at a time when I wanted to listen to this stuff and not just randomly listen and leave. Agree with will, missed those long descriptions, those are like a suprise gift you get hearing n watching your video. Love the vibe of this one arrangement, it has this good flow and once again godass description has convinced to prioritise jujustsu on my watchlist. Also missed your acoustic sound, that's a gem(idk how many times I've mentioned that)
Back again. Missed those incredibly detailed descriptions. The fact that it only took 3 days to arrange this is nuts. Your arrangements are quite underrated. Great balance between between octaves and other intervals and that hand crossing was really creative. The left hand is unique and doesn’t rely on a constant pattern like I often see. I haven’t seen jujutsu kaisen but this might make me start sometime. Also that subscribe video at the end is top notch😉
You are such a loyal appreciator bud. Thanks so much for your kind words and appreciation of not only what I bring to the piano but also what I bring to life through words.
A very powerful performance. I love all of the elements you added in this arrangement. It’s very balanced. Great playing and I can’t wait to hear your playing with better recording equipment. Also the ending is 🔥(both the edit and the arrangement)
The level of thought and passion you put in your arrangement really shows itself in your playing. I also love the story with this arrangement. Despite not remembering the original OST, your playing relived memories of the movie for me. The only other anipianist who could make me have connections with the Anime of the song is Animenz. Says a lot man XD Awesome job! Love the new sound as well! Edit: lmao the ending screen
Jesus, this might be one of the highest praises I've ever gotten...I really don't know how to respond to this except with a thank you so much as always. Really happy to see you pop up on my channel and how far you've come with anipiano
Absolutely stunning! The jujutsu kaisen is soon or currently in cinema in my country so I hope I'll get a chance to watch it. But the piano sound does feel really full and volumenous (even tho I'm listening on phone speakers), hayashi do be a pro at this stuff. My favourite part here literally has to be the very end! The way these fortissimo chords ring out just gives me eargasm~
Hey fabolus playing. And so nice sharing your history again with us 🙏🏻 also what you wrote about the piece is great. I hope you will succeed in getting the artist you wish to be! Wish you all the best 🤗🙌🏻🎹💖
I'm currently listening to the songs from JJK 0 on repeat, especially Ichizu. But I haven't listened to this OST after watching the movie, so thanks for reminding me that it exists, and for this amazing piano version! I can only agree with the others, the original has some ambient parts and you reproduced it so well. I think the highly reverberant sound from the old piano is perfect for this one! I also love how it gets more and more powerful towards the end. This is so good!
