Thank you Andrea, I watched this blog and saw the Spring dress pattern that you recommend and I bought it. It’s beautiful I have made one each for my daughters and two for myself it’s a lovely pattern to sew, THANK YOU ❤
I always love these kinds of videos, though they do make me feel like I need to make all the dresses!! I really appreciate hearing the reality of what these are like to wear, which is pretty different from when we first make them up. I may need to give some of these another look!
I’m on my way to joining you on sewing some designs over and over. And over, again. I was never that type of sewer before. I was always sort of seduced by new designs every time I saw them. But, I have to make more fit adjustments than ever, and it puts me off sewing up a new garment, and what good is that? I miss the days when I could just pick out a pattern, and with very minimal adjustments it would just fit. So, my current goal is to build a core set of patterns that I can turn to, whenever the desire or need to sew arises, and I know they will fit perfectly. ❤️
Really enjoyed this video Andrea. I’ve made nearly all of these, mostly influenced by you 😊 so thanks for the inspiration. I’m working on my 3rd Davenport and have 2 more fringe dresses cut out but now you’ve reminded me about the spring dress and Valerie I really want to make those again too!! So many plans and so little time!!
Lots of beautiful dresses Andrea. Thanks for sharing these. I've just recently got the Fringe dress pattern, so this video has inspired me to go on and make it 😻
They all look so gorgeous on you, Andrea! I haven't tried any of these patterns, but watching this video has sparked an idea for a mashup I can make of patterns I already own, so thanks for the inspiration! 😊 Mustard/ochre is a difficult colour to wear if you have fair skin and blonde hair - rich jewel colours work best, like that amazing royal blue 😍 Have a smashing day!
Thanks for this lovely vlog! I am in the process of trying to make a dress from the fantastic "Autumn leaf" linen viscose fabric that I bought from your lovely shop. It's a mash up of the SOI Kitty dress skirt and SOI Lulu dress bodice. I do the same thing regarding using a pattern many times, every new version being a different take on a pattern. I love how the A0 pattern print outs from your shop comes on luxorious, thick paper, impossible to cut into, will have to start tracing...😄🐈⬛🐈⬛❤️
Ooh your SOI mashup sounds fabulous. What a great idea . I definitely like to get value from my patterns and never tire of making the same/similar dress over and over . They all look so different in the end!
Hi Andrea🤗. This is my first viewing of your sewing channel👀. What attractive materials and style are the patterns you have shown today☺️. I shall be watching for future videos😳. Regards to you all🙏
I found this blog very interesting and love the easy natural way you present. I have 2 of these patterns the fringe and myosotis so will bear in mind the full skirt you mentioned. I think I should try these before I purchase another. Beautiful fabric choices Andrea. Thank you 😊
I really enjoyed your video, only just having discovered you on RUclips. Please show more of your makes on you yoursel as opposed to the mannekin as they look so much nicer on you! Really enjoying it, love your alterations too.
Lovely seeing your favourite dress patterns….. although there were no surprises there 😂😂. I really must make another davenport. Love that dress. Sorry I didn’t pop on the zoom last night. Feeling a bit rough again. I worked for my old boss at the weekend making numerous hand tie bouquets for Mother’s Day and two of my colleagues have just tested positive🙄. I’m still negative at the mo 🤞🏻🤞🏻.
Aw no , sorry to hear you’re feeling rough Lynn . I missed seeing you … and Andy popping in with refreshments to you ❤️Your hands must be aching too after the weekends work . Hope you’ll feel better soon xx
I enjoy your videos from your magnificent choice of fabrics ; patterns and your walks threw the country side and your beautiful home, still haven’t got the nerve to do pDF patterns I do like them better than the big four..what a lovely video looking forward to your next… do you ship material to the USA. Thank you ❤️
Lovely dresses Andrea! When I have a color that does not agree with me, I try adding some coloful jewelry or scarf and usually that fixes the overall colouring and makes the outfit much better. I think if you wear the beige dress with a some hot pink or turquoise earrings, or necklace, your opinion might change and you will be able to wear it happily. Just a suggestion!
Lovely! I love dresses, I feel feminine and put together in a good way when I’m wearing one, especially if it’s one I’ve sewn. You look fantastic an all your dresses here.
I’ve used some of my patterns so many times I have had to re print them because they’re so tattered!! That’s my way to gauge that I’ve definitely had value for money 😊
These are all great Andrea, and no surprises. I thought you might have included the Southbank sweater dress which I will now make from my swapped think pink box. 😀xxx
Ah yes the Southbank . One of the best .. I think I had spring/summer in mind . I might do an autumn/winter video of dresses too later in the year . Can’t wait to see which colour you swooped for .. snd see your Southbank xx
If you didn't have so many dresses already, I would feel bad that you need to give one away but... ☺️. I will say that my Mom didn't like wearing black (as she got older) and used a white Dickie to offset the color next to her face which worked great. Or a cardigan or jacket/blazer worked as well. You might try that with the mustard colored dress... It's beautiful on you by the way but I know what you mean. I love yellow but it doesn't like me. 😉 So glad your shoulder is almost better!😍. Please take care wielding those bolts of fabrics. Although I bet you've got a good muscle now 💪☺️. As always I really enjoyed the video; your mashup is my favorite too! See you next time! 🌄💐💖🌹
Thank you Colette . That was a great idea of your moms . I think I’m just not feeling it with the mustard dress . I hope I’ll find a good home for it . 😊
Love all your dresses Andrea, the print of them is very colourful and you suit them. I don't have much use, unfortunately, for a dress, I live in the North of Scotland on an island 🏝️ there is always a breeze ( more like a gale at times) love your vids and get so much inspiration. xx🥰
Thank you Alicia.. I love my colourful prints . We have a fairly short window of opportunity here in Ireland for dresses , that’s a pity you don’t get the weather for them
Enjoyed seeing all your dresses Andrea! The Fringe dress is still my personal favorite after being inspired by yours! I do agree about the Myosotis skirt having too much fabric and the fit is not good on me. I am planning on unpicking the skirt and sizing down quite a bit. I may even do your Fringe skirt hack 😉😃 I still have to make the Spring Dress😊
Thanks to your recommendation Andrea I bought the Fringe dress after watching your sew along. I then made the notched version in a Japanese cotton to test the pattern and I love it! Off to check out the Valerie now, that looks lovely.
What a really fascinating vlog. Love all your dresses, simply stunning. I have made the Davenport, Fringe and just finished the Myosotis. Really like the Davenport but would be interested in making it sleeveless for the summer. My Fringe dress was my first dress I made and was a bit of a disaster- fabric colour not good and bodice was not quite right, now I know why. I have just finished the Myosotis and I love the idea of combining the skirt of the Fringe. You have given me so many useful tips Andrea. Thank you.
Sounds like we have very similar taste Karen . My first fringe was a bit of a disaster too , I had a bra flashing moment that I won’t forget , thank goodness for safety pins after that . Love the fit now !
Your dresses are all lovely. I would have loved to know what type of fabric you used for each pattern - picking the right type of fabric appropriate for the pattern is such an important skill that I am still working on!
Sorry , they are all viscose . That’s my favorite dress fabric , it has such a great drape and it takes gathered really well . My t shirt dresses are cotton jersey
I love your dresses especially the Valerie dress that you have on the manikin and the Deer and Doe t-shirt dress. Also, thanks for talking about the smaller sizes issue. I am very petite and often have to make the patterns smaller. As for my daughter, she’s even smaller than me so that brings its own challenges.
The smaller issue is far less mentioned and it is just as much a challenge . We are delighted to have tried out the Deer & Doe patterns to find the fit perfect for my daughter 😊
Lovely dresses. I have the FPC Davenport it's on my make nine list too. Hoping to make up soonish. Thank you Andrea a great demonstration of how the same dress pattern can be so different with just the change of fabric.
Have just found your channel Andrea and really love this helpful video! Am sold on the Valerie dress - 2 questions: like you, I always have to do a narrow shoulder adjustment and I would have thought that the raglan sleeve style would still require that but you find not? Does the sleeve head not droop off your shoulder point?. Also, I just don’t wear above the knee dresses - but the skirt shape suggests to me that extending the length to below knee would look great too. What do you think? Many thanks, Moira
Hi Andrea I love the Spring dress to but agree feels like should have bust darts at the bottom but I guess it wouldn't go over your head then. How did you attach the ties to the front of your Spring dress. Did you just sew them onto the front of the bodice when the darts would be? Hope that makes sense am quite new to sewing 😊
Have fun holiday sewing . I have some Ogden camis on my holiday plans . Also the forget me not Lola is another cute one snd you can make a dress version too
I just love hearing my friends across the big pond talk! Your accent is music to my ears. I am a Southerner (US). Are you familiar with that accent? When my husband and I visited Russia a few years back, we learned that Russians get the Southern accent confused with accents in the UK, which is funny to me, but now I do sometimes hear a few similarities here and there!
Thank you Mary , no I’m not familiar with the Southern accent. We Irish are scattered across the world so much it’s possible to tune into the Irish accent anywhere .
I agree Andrea that the FPC Davenport has a lot of beautiful details. I felt really accomplished in making mine but the fabric choice was wrong - a gingham cotton. It doesn’t feel right for any season and I’ve not worn it 🙁. I took a lot of time and money in making it so wondering how to retrieve it 🤔
Thank you Andrea, I watched this blog and saw the Spring dress pattern that you recommend and I bought it. It’s beautiful I have made one each for my daughters and two for myself it’s a lovely pattern to sew, THANK YOU ❤

Oooooooo,,, a kitten in a pocket, i will take two…!!!! Love the vlog very interesting. Thank you for taking the time to share.
Ha ha thanks Debra 🐈⬛
I'm so glad your shoulder is so much better. I thought you were going to say the fringe dress was your number 1!
Love the stripe dress, you look wonderful in it.
Would love to see how you put the ties in. You give me so many ideas.
There’s never enough sewing time for all our plans ❤️
What a great idea to mash the myosotis and the fringe. I will have to try that.
Lots of beautiful dresses Andrea. Thanks for sharing these. I've just recently got the Fringe dress pattern, so this video has inspired me to go on and make it 😻
I want the fringe dress. I'd make so many

Ah yes I’ve found out the hard way with the ochre colour . Have fun with your mash ups . Thank you for watching 😊
This is a fun video
Beautiful dresses . I adores t-shirt dresses . You look great in yours .
Thank you

Great video. I have 3 of these patterns only one used so far but I’m now inspired. Thank you
Lovely dresses Andrea, the tie belt into the front dart is a great idea. I love my spring dress also! 😍
Hi Andrea🤗.
This is my first viewing of your sewing channel👀.

I shall be watching for future videos😳.
Regards to you all🙏
I love your videos and your makes are all gorgeous! So happy I discovered your channel!
Thank you so much 😊
Loved the video Andrea, and all the very useful slight amendments you made to some of the lovely dresses.
Thank you Janet , the little tweaks make all the difference

I really enjoyed this video. I just discovered your channel and I look forward to watching many more!
Amazing collection of dresses! I always think Tshirt dresses are harder to wear, once we are not kids, but yours look fabulous on you!
Thank you Nancy , I find a cardi or a jacket hide a multitude of my lumps and bumps . 😊
Really helpful video. Much appreciated thank you ❤
Gorgeous dresses they look gorgeous on you. The fabric is also beautiful. xx
Thank you Tanya xx
Love all your favorites. Do you have a tutorial or any recommendations for a narrow shoulder adjustment?
Loved all your dresses Andrea. Great video, thanks. 😊

I love getting value from a pattern I can relate

Great choices💕
Thank you .. even though a lot of my dresses are the same pattern they all look very different

Can you use bias tape for the elastic casing? Then you wouldn’t have to cut the length off.
I’m sure that would be possible
Do you often use your mannequin woensdag you are sewing ?
Love the Ninalee dresses, what type of fabric did you use for them?
They are all made from viscose , sorry I didn’t mention that
lovely to see all the dresses i am only 5ft and curvey find it difficult to shop for dresses that fit me , maybe time to try making some
Once you start making your own you’ll never look back

@@karenfitch1036 thank you for your suggestion but the style really doesn’t lend it self in that way 🙁
'Booby squished' added to my official fitting vocab 😂
It’s a technical term don’t you know 🤣🤣
