I remember the first time I heard Roberta Flack sing this. Decades ago, as I am now 68. It was moving in so many ways. What a beautiful rendition, and how I hear Angelina's version.
Just a mic, a guitarist, at home, in a sitting position, glancing at the not fully memorized lyrics from a tablet screen -- and STILL killing it at age 11 or 12! No editing, no mixing, no stupid autotune that non-talents have to use. Just raw vocal super powers!
Hi, the guitarist is Egil Clausen, I've met him at her concert last year. They fit together so well and Angie has plans to do more with him in the future. Latest was when he joined her over in Jordan, she posted some on her Insta. I haven't noticed any tension tho, love this cover so much
I wasn’t at the concert myself but I’ve heard from others that on the July 10th concert both Egil and Angelina’s mother were in the audience. Sarah (AJ’s mother) can be seen holding up Egil’s son for a better view of Angelina performing. I’ve heard that the families are very close.
It must have been a fantastic concert this one. First Concert since covid started. So many reactors and online friends would have met up at these concerts in Norway in 2022. Lot of these people would of knowen of each other from everyone having the same interest. The Wonderful Angelina Jordon. Up close with Angelina Jordans beautiful singing and loverly nature. The Atmosphere and warmth between all the fans, angels, and Angelina. Even Sara chatting to fans in the crowd must been Magic. There might not be a crowd this personal with Angelina and fans quite the same as these concerts again, as the crowds could be so massive from now on for an Angelina Concert. Or they may be more Magic. I think Angelina's singing might still sound like she is still singing personly, right in your ear. Even when standing right beside 100,000 other people at the concert. Steve from NZ
@@gtir300hp What you’ve mentioned is exactly why I purchased tickets for her September concert in Portsmouth NH. The character of all concerts will be unique in their own way. I wondered if I ever would get a chance to see Angelina in such an intimate venue… so I just had to go. Portsmouth is a relatively small theater with seating for just under 900 fans. I really am looking forward to it.
Je pense que vous n,avez pas encore vu son premier single....Love don,t let me go....qui va faire parti de son premier album...des années 60...bonne journée.
Great reaction Mr LB 👍. Angie was 11 here. Egil was her guitarist from when she was 8 until 12. Than would pop up sometimes in her teen years. He's a family friend also. I love Angie's version and Roberta's version the best. Mr LB, you really need to react to Angie's new song she wrote and released on May 5th, called "Love don't let me go". Angie said It's about LOVE itself and not about being in love. Like she’s talking to LOVE directly. Pretty deep lyrics for a 17 yr old. Need to bug the radio stations to play it. Please buy it and her album when it comes out between June and Fall of 2023 at least. God bless you 🙏. ❤
No inappropriate awkwardness Others have explained their relationship. He was staring at her at the ending cause he didn’t know how she was going to finish and needed clues to see where she was taking it and at what pace. Her accompaniment follows her and they need to pay close attention, esp when it’s just one of them.
If Angelina had any awkwardness here (and I personally can't detect any), it would probably have been from not being fully familiar with the lyrics. Notice she is looking at her tablet in her lap from time to time. Egil Clausen is also from Norway and has been a close friend of Angelina and her family for years, since Angelina was probably an infant. The way he looks at her, I would say from his history with the family and his familiarity with her extraordinary talent, is due to the admiration and respect he has for her as an artist at such a young age. No weirdness there at all!
Awesome reaction and she re-invented that song and that is egil, who plays guitar for her from age 7 until 12. When she moved to L.A., then Ivan Mendez played guitar for her for a little over a year, until AGT. I think their eyes connected at a very intimate part of the song and I think they just caught off guard, God Bless!
She was beautiful, as usual, Egil was Egil, also as usual, and they have a long history. History also says they were very good together and I think they are the best of friends, and suspect that will always be. She is such a joy to my heart and Egil is a welcome friend to her coming of age in life and in music.
Egil Clausson. The awkwardness was about the lyrics, not Egil. He has been playing for her since she was six years old. He’s Norwegian. Notice at the end she looks a little embarrassed when she finished. How many 11/12 year olds would even think to slow down the song that much and have all those long pauses in the lyrics. She is so creative with her techniques and her interpretation of the song.
The akwardness was not about the lyrics itself, it had to do with AJ mixed the text lines (vers). And I think they just communicated; we are going on😊 She is wonderful!
He already explained some time ago that he was transitioning all AJ's content over to this channel, but to @Dave's point, its all good promotion to Angelina!
I think the song was actually written with Peggy Seeger in mind. It was quite a haunting song from day one. Yes Roberta Flack did do a fantastic version of this song but it stands on its own very well.
😊I wonder if it’s difficult for Angelina to hear herself here. Her accent has, of course, improved so much since she was 11! Ya think she can see how charming & impressive she was, even then? 5/16/23. That’s her 1st guitarist, Egil. His enjoyment of her gifts is palpable. Maybe…he’ll wait for her to grow up. (Hey. Sonny waited for Cher. Rene waited longer for Celine. Love is love. These prodigies do seem to bond to their mentors.) Cher’s & Celine’s love & marriages held fast. To this day, Cher speaks adoringly of Sonny (though they eventually divorced). Btw, 2nd stanza is:I felt the earth “move in my hands”. Not, “so close to mine” which comes in the 3rd stanza. Doesn’t impact her gorgeous vocal, but I thought you’d notice.🙄
Great reaction to great song and great singer, Mr LB. Awkwardness was about the lyrics- she made a mistake in the second verse. You should react to this song covered by George Michael, you'll be suprised 😍
So I’m Angelina Jordan on my playlist, beautiful or she sends it I can figure was an old traditional folk style and it was everywhere. I’m not good at all. I’ll listen to it. It was just the rabbit still full clean your fall.
Awkwardness caused by the lyrics. This young girl fully understands the meaning of the lyrics, and although she is fully emoting the song, she is a bit uncomfortable. Recognising Angelina’s maturity regarding the meaning of the lyrics, this is understandable.

Still in its all simplicity they created a masterpiece together.
Amazing, amazing, amazing!! HOW?
11 years old😮A true prodigy!
Such a gentleness to this song, almost like a lullaby and stunningly beautiful. Roberta Flack would love this version.
She is so special to many of us. I listen to all of her music since she was little. She is Definately an angel
Incredible artist !!!❤️❤️❤️

@@peterhormell1511 yeah, Sara was within 2m of me when setting up, she looked really busy so I resisted the opportunity to bother her😟❤

Angelina always done her own version of the song she love. Nice reaction ❤

This recording is good to go as is!
It belongs on records and streams and it belongs to the award winning classics.

AJ mixed the lyrics, and they just continued with the music. Not any awkwardness😊

I agree with Mr. Boyd, I like Ivan better as an accompaniment

By then she already would be just as comfortable performing live in any forum, of any crowd size and any cameras.
You did this review, including final comments regarding guitarist, Egil Clausen, over a year ago.
All good promotion I guess? Channel has split music content from other reactions, so I notice many re uploads, it's Angie tho❤

Please sing Time In A Bottle. This was absolutely gorgeous!
Phoebe Snow sings really great 60s jazz

I agree with Mr. Boyd. I like Ivan the later accompanist.
The Seegar version was the the version I heard and I agree with your comment about Peggy.
Have you reacted to her new single. Love don’t let me go?
that run...
Gotta love all the 'Spider Egg Sacks' on her legs . . . . .
. . . . . OH , those are just decorative white 'puffs' . . . . . . . okay . . . . .

You are wrong, AJ mixed the lyrics.
Play the singer, Disney iPhone 5s terrible butterfly. Turn yourself into a love song. Who is my favorite saying that way
Folk song, folk style folks on sale it was terrible and radish. Yeah.

Try Ane Brun with Hand in the fire!
that's Peggy Seeger...just sayin':)
