  • Stitch sinuses can be very annoying after abdominoplasty surgery.
    In this video, I review a comment from a previous youtube video:
    "I am seven weeks out and have had slow healing and small openings along incision. I seem to be purging my stitches. Like my body hates them. Every time the incision starts to get better, more stitches get pushed out and it reopens. How much longer can this keep happening! I’m so frustrated and tired of having open wounds!"

    Yes. This is happening to me. 5 weeks out and I have a hole from a suture, with a couple other places that seem angry from what seem like stitches sticking out. Kind of scary with the infection. I’m on antibiotic and taking really good care of the wound, but it’s slow and frustrating.

      It is always best to continue to check in with your surgeon with regular post-operative appointments so that they manage this.

    I’m a little over 3 months post of a extended tummy tuck and Breast aug with lift. My tummy on left side is very tender to the side of my belly button but my right side is fine. Tender to touch but I don’t feel any kind of bumps and Around the incision line is fine. This issue makes it difficult through the day and I also have a lot of pulling feeling when I stand up through out the day. I feel better when I’m sitting and don’t like to stand up due to this.

    I had a tummy tuck and breast lift/augmentation 4 weeks ago. I developed a huge necrotic wound on my incision site on tummy 2 weeks after surgery ( my fault because I thought I could smoke). My breasts have healed just fine but I noticed a very tiny dot of creamy white under my breast on incision site. EXTREMELY TINY. no inflammation, no swelling or the scar is not hard or discolored and no discomfort.
    Question… will this tiny dot worsen or go away on its own?
    I’m working with my dr to clear up the necrosis on my tummy but it’s going to take a long time to heal. Just am afraid the spot of yellow under my breast will get as bad. Not sure.

      Hi Carolyn, unfortunately this is something that can just occur and patient care is not always the cause.

    Had a tummy tuck with a horizontal and a vertical incision. Where the two meet became an open wound which got infected, no fever. 4 days on meds cleaned wound a bit more and found a spitting stitch? But got a closer look and in was a knot. Surgery done out of state.

      Hi Josh, It is best to go back to see your surgeon to review. Post-operative appointments are very important so that they can keep an eye on your recovery.

      It is possible, the healing procedure does take time. It is always best to see your surgeon and discuss any concerns you have.

    Hello, it’s been 15 yrs since my surgery and suddenly I feel like my belly just started to bulge out , as if I cannot hold it in. Could my permanent sutures possibly have torn or pulled open?

    • @DrBernardBeldholm
      @DrBernardBeldholm  4 месяца назад

      Long term it is not really the sutures holding things together. It is the scaring and healing. There is at least a 10 percent recurrence rate for Diastasis recti. So it is possible that you have further muscle separation. You should see your doctor for further assessment.

    Can A diebetic and hypertensive person ( with medication) do a tummy tuck?

    • @consuelaarmstrong6800
      @consuelaarmstrong6800 Год назад +2

      Yes as long as it is controlled by medication and your labs allow it.

    • @DrBernardBeldholm
      @DrBernardBeldholm  Год назад +1

      Hi Shielah, this would be a high risk tummy tuck procedure with risk of necrotic skin and wound break downs. Your surgeon would need to make an assessment and advise if they were happy to proceed.
