I cannot put into words what Carlos meant to us. He was an inspiration, a mentor, and so much more. We were so proud to be invited to play with him on his 50th anniversary at Carnegie hall, & many other times over the years. Above all we were so proud to call him a dear friend. We miss him every day.
Carlos lived and breathed the guitar . I can’t remember a conversation that didn’t revolve around the instrument. His complete dedication made him one of the greats …a unique player and ambassador of the guitar .
He is very much missed. My first real guitar teacher studied with him for 6 years and I played in a master class for him one time. Got totally wrecked from it but I learned a lot!
What guitar player should I talk about next?
Hello, thank you for your effort.
How about someone less usual like John Dowland?
Laurindo Almeida
@@ThomasDzergl hey thank you so much for your comment. John Dowland would be a great one!
@@dinmor4666 Hey Thanks for the suggestion. Yes Laurindo is a great player that now a days seems to be sadly not discussed that much!
His version of Shade of the Mango Tree by Luiz Bonfa is AMAZING! So good.
