To make this performance even more impressive, my understanding is that the show told her two days before the taping to sing this song instead of what was planned. She was having trouble getting time to work with the house band, so she had her guitarist fly in from The Philippines on less than 24 hours notice. He arrived in Shanghai the next morning, they worked on the arrangement for a few hours that afternoon and performed it that evening. Sometimes having no time to prepare can lead to a simple but stunningly beautiful result. While I like everything KZ did on The Singer 2018, I think this was her finest moment given the circumstances.

Fun fact: KZ Tandingan started singing as a child but had to stop when she was in her junior year in high school after suffering from a throat problem that's why she can't really belt. She used to sing as powerful as Morissette. She plays the guitar and piano and she composes songs. She thought she was not pretty enough to make it in showbiz that's why she finished her college and graduated with a degree of Bachelor of Science in Biology.
