For anyone wondering: it's already been leaked that the old traps are returning, and that guns with substantially different models between og and the chapter 2 versions will have the og models. So most of the points bro made toward og having potential is gonna happen. It's even been leaked that the Guided Missle launcher is returning in season 3, so that'll definitely help with the "older seasons didn't add much content" problem. Basically, since the first 3 og seasons are returning things we haven't seen since chapter 1, it might actually be the most hyped time for content. Seasons 4 and onward mightve had more map and lootpool changes, but Epic have reused that stuff dozens of times over the years
Even though the difference is largely textures, I do hope the old models for the SCAR and Pistol return. It just feels wrong to have everything else ready, and miss one of the MOST iconic models of Chapter 1 / Fortnite as a whole.
Calling the double pump an exploit is something I never understood, putting a giant time delay between switching between two shotguns is so obnoxiously in the way.
it literally is an exploit by definition though, it wasn't intended to be used that way. Epic did not make the game and say "we want to give the players the opportunity to have a shotgun that does the damage of a pump with the fire rate of a tactical for the price of using 2 inventory slots."
The advance movement is going to hurt the experience when you are playing on a map for slower gameplay overall, Which can be a blow to Epic even if it wasn't really Epic's fault nor anyone's for that matter alone

To be fair, the season one map was very bland at the start because it was their first ever version of the br map. It didn’t have too much going on and was barren, but that’s what made everyone love it so much. I for one didn’t start playing until season 5 of chapter 1, so this’ll be my first ever time experiencing how this map felt for the first four seasons.
I unironically love the mechs, and will not have this season X slander. If players can hijack and exploit a moving car, you can hijack a mech and hit the "Funny button™"

If they just make this game mode a permanent version of chapter one and then continue doing whatever they want with regular modes then that’s where they can appease their fans. They need to remove the whole multiverse flop like Lego and rocket royale. Of course, I doubt they will, but they should considering how bad it’s done. But knowing epic, they absolutely refuse to do things how fans like. So they’ll bring back the map, bring back some of the old models of weapons like the pump, and bring back the double pump. But my guess is that the health bar and rest of the hud will look the same, the graphics will look the same and the movement will stay the same. But we’ll see tomorrow I guess

Chapter 3 season 3 is the last season Donald mustard really worked on? That actually reinforced my belief that him leaving killed the game ,my main complaint with fortnite nowadays is that it feels like it has no soul and that's about when I started to feel that way
I'm excited for something in Fortnite for once. There are a few blemishes in the leaked content (OG Scar model missing, OG Pistol model missing, etc.) but as long as they fix them eventually I'll be content. I noticed that the current skill based match making is directly based off the kills that a player has, but does not take into consideration the KDR. Someone could get into the game and play three games. Win them all with three kills, then never get a kill again since the game thinks they're good enough to play against players spending every hour on the game, whether that's the short time they are actually playing the game, sitting in creative and doing edit courses, or looking at the latest building glitches to gain a further edge. How can someone with less than three weeks of playing time compete with that if they were a noob today?

Im glad about this new season, but there is only 1 thing I can't stand: the fact that the didn't bring bad the old sniper scope. It was so easy and normal to use while I can't play with the new one. One concern I had for OG Chapter 1 is the build mode and zero build mode. For last season, the Chapter 2 map was built with zero build in mind with too many open areas with no way to get it unless you have a hard to get item that is the Port a Fort which wasn't even good in the season.
As someone who didn't play Fortnite back in chapter one and who is a self proclaimed advocate for random BS. I want OG to be broken. I want to experience the bad mechanics bc this is only time it's acceptable. Don't make it competitive sure leave out the map bugs, but everything else. Let there be havoc.
I don’t think people will be bored of Fortnite OG. If they are they can play literally any other game mode. On top of that, it’s not new content, it’s old content that people have been begging for. No one cares that it won’t have “new” content. We want it because it’s old and nostalgic.
Yeah, it'll just take some players away from br and reload Epic should also start putting POIs from previous chapters on new maps again, it gives people who played past versions of the game something familiar and makes it easier for them to adjust to a new map
I didn't play season 1, I started in season 2. Saying that season 2 was "lacking in content" is just blasphemous. Season 2 was by far the best Fortnite season we had. Starting with the original map and adding tilted mid-season was amazing. No, we didn't have collaborations and all the extra non-sense, but we had a game that played well, and that's all that mattered
This'll be awesome but season 5 was so awful I am definitely going to be skipping it if they decide to add the OG SMG stats. That said I really like that they are going the faithful route, they SHOULD keep all of the seasons as they were initially even if some portions of the community might not play the seasons that they dislike, because those seasons and features will always have their fans as well. I think the Season 2 taking away from Season 3 thing is going to be interesting to see though. Good points all around.
I have a theory that part of the reason they did OG in the first place was because of things like project nova/Era and how popular they got. Epic saw this, said nuh uh, threatened with legal consequences (at least with era) and then released the OG season. Guess whats gaining traction again....

Considering how all the people who said that adding the OG mode that took place last year would fail were spectacularly wrong i have high hopes for the 2 month experiences, i just gotta know though, are they actually going to recycle through every season once they reach X again? If so that would be a bit boring, i really hope after the first time they bring back beloved seasons like Chapter 2 S2 and S4 to spice up the game mode
I think you're forgetting that most of these people want an optional way to play the old mode, where they don't NEED a ton of content, a more relaxed and slower paced game is what we want, but don't get me wrong, chapter 6 is amazing too.
I don't really have that much expectations for this mode. Yea, I'm down for double pump and the pre-tilted map, but at the same time I'm enjoying the QoL changes made to Fortnite (such as movement) and so far Chapter 6 is very fun. Yeah, OG Fortnite is special, but if you're constantly complaining about Fortnite being "not what it was", then you're allergic to change. Change is good, and it can be also bad as well. You just gotta embrace it. That being said, I will be playing a few matches since I'm down for anything.
I still don’t think bringing back the Zapatron would be great. To be honest as a STW player it’s very mediocre. Even when it’s leveled up with good perks, the fact that it has to charge up for a while to deal damage is a serious downside. And yeah they could buff it, but you still have to manually charge it unlike the Rail Gun which was automatic.
The main issue is what after season 10? epic needs to do either chapter 2 og and then chapter 3 but with more changes especially chapter 3 or at least this what could let the game to get time to let people miss again the older season cuz believe me one i say if epic decided to let the seasons do a circle loop people will literally get over and stop playing or simply the other bad option is this og will be a one year wonder and never get back this will eventually create a hole in the community especially going back to current br after long experience with og that will lead to massive hate on the game like it's not a thing that is happening now days so for my best second option is recycling the og seasons in different way after season 10 by adding season 11 maybe till 20 but in the same chapter one map and probably listening to the fans ideas and concern people will love this idea that was common in chapter 2 season 1 the idea of what if we get another season after the black hole and this can catches with the whole story theme it is more like alternative universe where nothing happened and the seven saved the planet and maybe later on mixing it with the new chapter as if the two universe got mixed it's cool idea i guess taking the good feature of both and getting the best version but i do feel that epic also need to slightly change the time between seasons so season 1-3 be short and every season making it more long cuz in reality what made chapter 1 unique is those challenges every week and those bunch of update and even easter eggs that has been hidden literally every season was its own chapter comparing it to now

guys i dont get the hype we will never ever have old fortnite players are just to good now glitches are patched and battle passes have been missed as someone who started player season 1 i hate the new fortnite and i think we can all agree that old fortnite was just better there was a small item shop no big company collaborations for skins it was just a good gaming experience but that time is gone you wont ever get that feeling again

One concern I had for OG Chapter 1 is the build mode and zero build mode. For last season, the Chapter 2 map was built with zero build in mind with too many open areas with no way to get it unless you have a hard to get item that is the Port a Fort which wasn't even good in the season.

As someone who didn't play Fortnite back in chapter one and who is a self proclaimed advocate for random BS. I want OG to be broken. I want to experience the bad mechanics bc this is only time it's acceptable. Don't make it competitive sure leave out the map bugs, but everything else. Let there be havoc.

I don’t think people will be bored of Fortnite OG. If they are they can play literally any other game mode. On top of that, it’s not new content, it’s old content that people have been begging for. No one cares that it won’t have “new” content. We want it because it’s old and nostalgic.

Epic should also start putting POIs from previous chapters on new maps again, it gives people who played past versions of the game something familiar and makes it easier for them to adjust to a new map

I didn't play season 1, I started in season 2. Saying that season 2 was "lacking in content" is just blasphemous. Season 2 was by far the best Fortnite season we had. Starting with the original map and adding tilted mid-season was amazing. No, we didn't have collaborations and all the extra non-sense, but we had a game that played well, and that's all that mattered
This'll be awesome but season 5 was so awful I am definitely going to be skipping it if they decide to add the OG SMG stats. That said I really like that they are going the faithful route, they SHOULD keep all of the seasons as they were initially even if some portions of the community might not play the seasons that they dislike, because those seasons and features will always have their fans as well. I think the Season 2 taking away from Season 3 thing is going to be interesting to see though. Good points all around.
I have a theory that part of the reason they did OG in the first place was because of things like project nova/Era and how popular they got. Epic saw this, said nuh uh, threatened with legal consequences (at least with era) and then released the OG season. Guess whats gaining traction again....
they should make a fortnite ltm in which all of the most op and unbalanced weapons are the only weapons. double pump, guided missle, mech, p90, infinity blade, shockwave hammer, etc. I wanna see as much chaos as possible😈

Considering how all the people who said that adding the OG mode that took place last year would fail were spectacularly wrong i have high hopes for the 2 month experiences, i just gotta know though, are they actually going to recycle through every season once they reach X again? If so that would be a bit boring, i really hope after the first time they bring back beloved seasons like Chapter 2 S2 and S4 to spice up the game mode
I think you're forgetting that most of these people want an optional way to play the old mode, where they don't NEED a ton of content, a more relaxed and slower paced game is what we want, but don't get me wrong, chapter 6 is amazing too.

I don't really have that much expectations for this mode. Yea, I'm down for double pump and the pre-tilted map, but at the same time I'm enjoying the QoL changes made to Fortnite (such as movement) and so far Chapter 6 is very fun. Yeah, OG Fortnite is special, but if you're constantly complaining about Fortnite being "not what it was", then you're allergic to change. Change is good, and it can be also bad as well. You just gotta embrace it. That being said, I will be playing a few matches since I'm down for anything.

I still don’t think bringing back the Zapatron would be great. To be honest as a STW player it’s very mediocre. Even when it’s leveled up with good perks, the fact that it has to charge up for a while to deal damage is a serious downside. And yeah they could buff it, but you still have to manually charge it unlike the Rail Gun which was automatic.

The main issue is what after season 10? epic needs to do either chapter 2 og and then chapter 3 but with more changes especially chapter 3 or at least this what could let the game to get time to let people miss again the older season cuz believe me one i say if epic decided to let the seasons do a circle loop people will literally get over and stop playing or simply the other bad option is this og will be a one year wonder and never get back this will eventually create a hole in the community especially going back to current br after long experience with og that will lead to massive hate on the game like it's not a thing that is happening now days so for my best second option is recycling the og seasons in different way after season 10 by adding season 11 maybe till 20 but in the same chapter one map and probably listening to the fans ideas and concern people will love this idea that was common in chapter 2 season 1 the idea of what if we get another season after the black hole and this can catches with the whole story theme it is more like alternative universe where nothing happened and the seven saved the planet and maybe later on mixing it with the new chapter as if the two universe got mixed it's cool idea i guess taking the good feature of both and getting the best version but i do feel that epic also need to slightly change the time between seasons so season 1-3 be short and every season making it more long cuz in reality what made chapter 1 unique is those challenges every week and those bunch of update and even easter eggs that has been hidden literally every season was its own chapter comparing it to now

i dont get what epic was doing this time. last time with OG it felt like they were going for a modern approach with the next movement and weapons but still having the old stuff, plus with the season changing weekly it didnt have enough time to get the feel of the old season. so epic's approach by making it modern made sense.
so explain to me why this time around they arent making this authentic? it baffles me that theyll do stuff like add double pumps back but then not remove the new movement. if they wanted it to be just like season one then how come i can still sprint or move while healing? why can i still pick up a reboot card? i get that they wanted people who are used to the new things be more comfortable but then thats just it.
